I wonder if it is because of the oval tracks being banked around the turns? :)

Yes, that's the main reason.
In real life asymmetric tuning is important in oval tracks in order to keep tire temperature and usage even over time and maximize grip in banked turns.
By the way, speaking of NASCAR cars, I wonder if we will be able (and required to, in the NASCAR championship) to manually set up restrictor plates or if we will use the cars exclusively at full power.

I have never cared for Nascar until i heard it was going to be in GT5, so i have been watching the races ever since. I must say GT has influeced me once again because after watching the nascar races i have alot of respect for these drivers. I always thought it was stupid to go in circle but i was i fool to think that. This racing is so intense because of the close racing. these are great team who compete every week(its like football of racing i love it) To sum it all up i cannot wait to try out a Nascar race car in GT5 👍

If done right I'm sure it'll be fun in the game, but I just can't get into real Nascar races at all, I even went to the New Hampshire race last year, couldn't wait for it to be over. If there had been about half the laps I think it would have been fine, but it just took forever after that point. There was also just too many caution's in that race every 25-50 laps the yellow flags came out, and I could never figure out why, they would say it was because of debris on the track but no one would go pick anything up.

To be honest I enjoyed the Saturday racing a lot more than the Sunday stuff.

I can see why people think NASCAR is boring, but it's not.
The yellow flags is what makes it so exciting actually, you need to see a NASCAR race more from a tactical side than anything. I don't know I just loved it from first time I saw one, the speed, the drivers going X numbers of cars side by side into the turns, the crashes, the flags, the pitstops, etc...
Funny enough my fav track is Talladega for it's sheer speed, I don't car about the lower HP thing because of the restrictor plates... those are the best races IMO. 👍 (and street courses xD)

I have seen what those yellow flags can do to a race! You have the driver in the lead with 15 laps to go, and then somebody crashes. Then that yellow comes out which causes everybody to bunch up, and from that position anything can happen. Im really enjoying watching Nascar!

Found this video to gain perspective on what we may see in the game. Not sure whether I should be excited or scared. :scared:

I highly doubt it. That's assuming there even is a LIMITED edition.

Actually shops tend to only stock a few copies of the limited editions. They'll be gone in my area for sure on the first day. I'm not talking about ordering online.

And if you remember Amar's Birds/Birdtamers/Winds thread he hinted at there being a special edition version.

Not to mention the one we saw in the SLS AMG video, with the 2 booklets and the game in a larger cardboard box, which also hints at some sort of limited edition version of the game.

My local EBgames have around 20 preorders for a limitied edition IF there is one. You can already preorder now. And there only lives less than 30k people here all in all. Usually they get 4-5 copys LM of other games, so i would assume it would be hard to get hold on a copy here at least.

Hmmm, I for one hope that the limited edition ( if there indeed is any ) only extends to a more luxurious package or booklets.
It's not really the price increase I'm worried about but the availability, and if some special content is unavailable in the standard version it would be a shame IMO although if it's nothing really significant ( only a few special colours, etc. ) I wouldn't care much.
Hope they don't put in cars which would only be available to a happy few.:)

Nothing interesting.

At least 950 cars, maybe 1000.
Better graphics than GT5:P.
More content than GT5:P (hurhur).
GT mode confirmed (again).
GTTV confirmed (again).
Lots of ideas for extra features (like head tracking) in the making, might not come at release.
They are aware that no one wants to wait anymore, but they want to have a good quality product.
The next time they announce a releasedate it will be the final releasedate.
The announcement will come soon *cough*.

For the first time in a long time, I don't mind waiting. Had to send my PS3 back to Sony today because it won't read any discs I insert. I just bought GTA4 too so that should keep me busy when it's returned to me.

Once the LM edition is confirmed I'll go to my shop and pre-order. Presumably that means they can order an extra LM edition over the amount they normally get in? Most over pre-orders i owuld assume would be for the standard version.

I sincerely doubt Kazunori would do that. Not only is he aware of the ruckus this caused with Forza 3, but he makes his Gran Turismos to be enjoyed by everyone. I'm pretty sure the "premium" would be the option to pre-pay for future DLC. In fact, I'm wondering if every copy of GT5 might be the equivalent of a premium edition.

Again if we refer back to Amar's thread a while back, one of the points was 'Birdtamers will have the option to pay a greater sacrifice to get future content without future sacrifice' Or something along those lines. Which means the LM edition pre-pays for future DLC*.

*It was my interpretation of that point, and may not be correct. PD/Sony's plans may have changed since then.

Always the same questions always the same answers... bla bla 950 cars, head tracking, release date will be announced soon LOL

They wan´t to make an perfect product so they need time... sounds like the game will come 2015...
