Brake bias in most cars is not 50/50. It's more biased to the front. Having 5/5 in GT and the 5s being the same value for front and rear makes little to no sense.

That I agree with, but are you saying that you think PD makes us resolve this issue per car? I would think that they would keep it linear. Not trying to trick gamers (who are not racers, usually) and who would not know what the base values are.

I've never taken the view that my brake tuning effort would have to consider the unknown bias inherent in each real car. I highly doubt PD did that either. Alas, who knows.

from autocar in 2004-

'' Every new car sold in Europe from this Summer must have anti-lock brakes fitted as standard - bringing a welcome windfall for buyers and an extra cost for manufacturers.

New Brussels legislation makes anti-lock mandatory from 1 July, so that even the cheapest city car must offer the safety device that only a few years ago was the preserve of luxury cars.

Some manufacturers have started fitting anti-lock brakes before the July deadline. Renault this month added anti-lock - previously a £565 option - to the Kangoo, making it the only firm in the top five to fit it to every model.

Low-volume manufacturers building fewer than 500 of a particular model a year, will be exempt from the new anti-lock brake rules.

There are very very few cars which can have the ABS disabled, the audi R8 can but only by using a main dealer tool to switch it off inside the ECU if memory serves.
You're both right, as the article you posted states ABS is standard for cars produced in volume, but TVR's didn't have ABS as they were low volume.

He meant racecars, but that's still not true, it depends on the series.

You can disable a cars ABS by removing the ABS fuse in the car... But, I agree that ABS should not be on cars like TVR's etc, however, GT5 will need to address the sensitivity of the brakes as in GT5P you just locked up if you pressed the square lol

Yes, the wheel lock-up in GT5:P was really bad.
I hope they will fix it, it's not allowed in the SuperGT for example.

There are series' that allow abs. The SCCA World Challenge GT class comes to mind. In fact, in that series, it's only allowed on some cars, like the Mustang, to be used as a leveling tool against the Porsches, which aren't allowed abs.

Every series is different.

thats impossible to release new news everyday

really hope we get just a small teaser before E3 showing just a glimpse of what to expect at E3

I'm MORE disappointed that we haven't heard of anything regarding the Indy 500, SCEA having a demo there or any hipe about our GTP'ers who won the VIP competition. I mean for crap sakes, they pimped the track in their latest trailer, they used it for the competition (the one that was downloaded 1m times?:dunce:) and nothing about nothing.....👎:grumpy:

BTW aren't the comp winners supposed to be there today. They've been in quali all day. Or maybe it was carb day and the pre-race stuff that the winners would be at....

The race isn't till next weekend, so maybe we'll see some stuff about it next week.

Yeah, I looked up the details...they will be there for Carb day next weekend and the race. But I would think that SCEA would have some kind of press about GT5 associated with this event. Maybe because the cars aren't included in the game. When's the Brickyard 500? Hmmmm.

I think everyone who has yet to pre-order GT5, should ban together and everyone in the world vow to not buy GT5 until the second day of its release. Just to give Sony/PD a short-lived scare. Could you manage?

Hmmm... Nope, I want the special edition. As soon as the limited edition version is confirmed i'm pre-ordering.

They'll be gone by the second day, no doubt.

I might buy more than one actually... *Ebay!*

I highly doubt it. That's assuming there even is a LIMITED edition.

The brake bias should have a proper % and then a pressure value

Like I was saying I want GT5 to use real world values for brake bias and suspension components. The real car's spring rates, damper settings and such. So if you take real world knowledge, you can tune it properly and it makes sense. Not these arbitrary gamey numbers that either gamer nor real world tech can figure out!

Then the gamers that don't have a clue can goggle for some knowledge, apply it and it works as it should, instead of fudging from one extreme to the other and thinking it's doing something positive

I have never cared for Nascar until i heard it was going to be in GT5, so i have been watching the races ever since. I must say GT has influeced me once again because after watching the nascar races i have alot of respect for these drivers. I always thought it was stupid to go in circle but i was i fool to think that. This racing is so intense because of the close racing. these are great team who compete every week(its like football of racing i love it) To sum it all up i cannot wait to try out a Nascar race car in GT5 👍

My guess is that the tuning with those numbers is just a Prologue thing. Didn't have the full games always have real figures?
Which didn't stop me from applying the same old setup on every dang car and it worked! :)

Yeah I'm guilty of doing that also.

Another thing besides using real world numbers would be to have asymmetric tuning instead of just front to back tuning, Imagine having one high cambered wheel while the others are normal. :dopey:

Asymmetric tuning is important for NASCAR cars, so I hope it will be in.
