I still can't rid of impression that they overdeveloped car models graphics and underestimated all other aspects of the game. I don't know whether this is caused by insufficient team members count or team which fell aslept in wooden times and can't make further progression. This situation has only one advantage, they already got all car models in perfect quality suitable for GT6,7 and probably further as well. Only new cars will be necessary to add for next big GT game.

Yeah, the car models are plenty good for the next GT games. It'll be a while before there'd be any visible benefits of higher-poly models.

When the PS4 or whatever comes out, the extra power would be put to more practical enhancements... more cars on screen, better LOD, antialiasing, true 1080p (or higher?), raytraced reflections and refractions, etc.

Anybody else think it's silly for GT Mobile and GT5 to be so closely linked with the car garage?

All I think is "Damn, that's going to spoil the game for some people."

Being handed $100 is good, but that's just immediate gratification.
Working hard for that $100 is where value is learned.

Apply that to earning a Veyron from GT Mobile and then transferring it to GT5 on day one.

Well, it's not like you are forced to link them. If I bought GT Mobile, I wouldn't transfer anything to GT5 because I want to play it from the beginning. I'm not going to transfer anything from GT5P either.

gTPSP is to blame. And Sony cashing in on PSP even if the game sucks. Anyway GT5 will nver be launch in March in USA and Europe because of GOW3. They cannot have two big games at the same time. I think sony will cash in on xmass 2010.

That is why kiss good bye to march launch for gt5 in the west because of GOW3. And fro sony to cash in, they will launch this in December 2010. PD already said it is sony's decision. Financially Dec 2010 is better for sony.

It's so unfair !
GOW fans are not waiting since 2005 !
Sony must delay GOW3 instead of GT5 !
Mode capricious kid : OFF :D

According to Famitsu magazine, GOW3 isn't being released in Japan until March 2010. I think Sony are more concerned about Final Fantasy personally.

Not all games are released in December, you know! ;)

I can understand them delaying the game because it's not finished yet (unlike some people here...), but delaying the release for over a half-a-year just because you want to hit the christmas shopping spree would be pretty stupid, even for Sony.

Or the psp gt. But I think it is both. As for USA and europre they will avoid GOW3 to they will not anger the developer and affect the sales of GOW3.

But from business perspective it is big. They want to cover all the months of 2010 and not to launch big games all at a same time. PD actually said that it is Sony decision , and they are a corporation so it is more of a business plan.

Yes they are, but it still wouldn't make sense to launch them both at the same time.
I think we'll see GT5 in May-June.

I can't think of a single reason not to have those two on the shelves at the same time. Who's going to cross-shop them?

I'm sure there is more than enough space in 2010 to launch a big game like GT5, without having to resort to a christmas release. Besides, GT5 doesn't even need christmas to sell like hot cakes. :D

It seems to me this is all part of Sony's idiotic marketing strategy, that GT5 fans are going to go buy a PSP because GT is on it and will be tied to GT5.

Its not gonna happen. After 5 yrs. of waiting all that stupidity does is infuriate me.

GT5 was released in America in February. Metal Gear Solid 4 was released in June. Big games can be released at any time. I'm expecting GT5 to launch between March to May.

The worse case scenerio is we might even see Gt5 in E3 2010 still on demo stage and not yet launch. sigh.. that long because of sony stupidity

I just love how everyone makes a big deal about GT5's long development time when Valve spent about, oh, NINE years making Team Fortress 2.

For the eternal optimists, I present you with words from AutoBlog:
Last week, Sony announced that Gran Turismo 5 would launch by March 2010. The folks at Polyphony Digital don't see things that way, though, as company boss Kazunori Yamauchi told reporters at a GT5 event that the game could launch in late 2009. And Yamauchi has apparently mentioned that both U.S. and European street dates won't be far behind the game's Japan launch, but the GT5 founder says that the exact launch date will be determined by marketing. Marketing? How about a soft launch for the hardcore GT5 enthusiasts while the ad geeks figure out how to sell the most advanced version of one of the most popular racing game franchises in history?

In the meantime, our compatriots over at Joystiq have the lowdown on some additional gaming specifics that could be of interest to rabid GT5 fanboys. For starters, there will be over 70 variations of 20 or more locations, and some 950 cars will be on offer. Check out our high-res image gallery and learn more at the link below

But Kazunori said he wants to use this moths to improve damage and add more stuff.
It's impossible. We are not going to see it before Japan. Two months later at the most I say.

Done by somebody brilliant on NeoGaf. I chuckled.

My thoughts EXACTLY. I keep hearing Kaz say "You can transfer all your cars from GTpsp onto GT5. W.T.F? Is that supposed to be a good thing?

I'm not entirely sure what he means by this, but I don't like the sound of it.
I want to have to work even harder than ever to afford cars on GT. Yes it has massive choice and it will make it hard to attain all the cars, but that will give the game a long life. It's not always good to have everything.

Games like Warcraft thrive off having massive amounts of almost unattainable content that keeps players just wanting more all the time. But it seems like whoever makes these decisions just doesn't get it at all. 👎

Precisely.

Kaz even said that you will attain cars in GT Mobile ten times faster than in GT5. What the *bleep*? That defeats the purpose of GT5; valuing the cars. GT has been known for that. Its richness in car appreciation. And now silly old GT Mobile delays GT5 and spoils the fun of earning cars (if you choose to buy both which is silly, too).

What's the deal with complaining about a feature you don't have to use? Some people might think that's a great feature and not have the time or desire to grind away for hours on end. It's an added feature that isn't integral to completing the game, if you don't want to use it don't. I've never used any of the carry overs in past GT games like the automatic licenses granted from GT1 to GT2 or the extra 100k starting credit from GT Concept to GT4. It defeats the purpore for me, but that said if someone else sees that option and thinks "this is great, it's just what I wanted" then fair play to them. They arn't hurting me or my enjoyment of the game.
