I agree, although realistic and believable car engine sound modelling is very hard to achieve, there's simply much more involved than with pianos.Well it being a real life chaotic event, that's why. Hard to replicate that with samples, unless you have gigabytes of memory to play with, even then it can still feel static, see Piano sample instruments. You need to go the synth/modelling route
I agree that Time Trial engine sounds were a step forward from even just GT5p. However they still lack the "growl", the "vibration" of the real thing. There's no low-end "purr". It's as if the engine sound sharp peaks in the game have been smoothened. To be fair, the tone is there, but I guess it's not enough.I found the Time Trial engine sounds more in line with that, having a few more layers of tones to work with helps
