GT Definitely isn't casual, compared to games like mario kart and mod nation racers, which are legitimately called "Casual Racers", you would be crazy to say its like those. Then theres the arcade racers like NFS and Midnight club, which again would be crazy to say the physics compete with it.

GT may seem like a pussy Simulator to some, but hell, its perfect for me. With the new (TT) physics, and all the great reviews given by PC sim racers, I think people will soon be proved wrong.

@Orgon donor: Yes, Kaz has confirmed that race cars will get much better damage, due to being race cars (And not road cars)

Ok, just say Nascar has this superb damage in GT....well what about the street cars? You said yourself including I it will not be any better then Forza damage for licensing reasons. well ok, it's Nascar.. unless your from the south lol for me saying this it's not going to be the main attraction to GT. Imo it's boring and everyone over here where i live loves it. To some it's the best racing in the world. This is all IMO :dopey:

I'm guessing that all of the race cars will have the same damage as NASCAR damage (Super GT cars, WRC cars, etc.)

True, now this could be the big surprise kaz is holding back. However i hope it's whether instead....or if a miracle happens we get the best of both worlds.

I like the way the SRT guys put it, GT FM is casual fun sim:tup:

Well in that Comic-Con video I'm hoping the snow and rain was true, but am hoping the bit about February 2nd was false.

He looked nervous so maybe he meant November.

Whatever.. I probably couldn't even imagine playing the more hardcore PC sims. GT has a lot of style, if the physics don't cut it then something else will.

 I think he was just nervous, he said Feb 2 of this year. Of course the release date he quoted was due to the fact he was under pressure and just messed up, but for the snow and rain - that isn't really something you would say just because you are nervous, and hopefully he accidently let it slip out and it turns out to be true.

GT has had snow and rain (well, wet track) before, infact toscana is in the snow and dirt class of tracks (as seen at E3). I didn't watch that interview due to my current conection issues but just mentioning snow and rain isn't that exciting unless he metioned it in a dynamic form (eg snowy Nurburgring in winter :D ) and with non rally track/races.

Yeah thats what I mean, rain on every track (dynamic or not) is what I'm really hoping for. Of course dynamic would be alot better, as you race enduro's you can see clouds moving in and the sprinkles turn into heavy rain...that would be pretty amazing. I'm not too crazy about snow though.

Same here although I wouldn't mind snow.

Well yeah, on every track would be great, dynamic would be even better espcially on the longer races and enduros. I would love to see a snowy (light snow) Nurburgring and others that do get snowy in the winter.

I wouldn't like to drive a snowy Green Hell in my Holden!

Everyone watch this NOW

Never, unless you're willing to pay up:sly:

They mention "70 tracks with 20 diff sceneries", also Rain and Snow implementation

Next they'll have birdwatching

Umm, and we're supposed to take anything he says as concrete? Laughing Out Loud!

Something I noticed in the NASCAR damage video..

They look kind of like standard cars... (Smaller image then the cars known as premiums too) But probably just because of the bad quality. Either way, more cars confirmed for the game! :dopey:👍

I believe you mean on? ROFL = Rolling On the Floor Laughing

The time trial had plenty of vibration and low end purr. Infact, listening to that video, I could say the sound in the game (When I played, not the TT video that was posted above) was better than that.

Agreed. My sub-woofer was working overtime in lower RPMs.

Man i hope this game starts looking a little more promising........ damn the damage sucks, it doesn't affect your driving... WTF is up with that? Though we haven't seen the full game the previews could look a little better then this.. I was hyped for this game about a month ago but now.... if it turns out a bust, PC sims such as Rfactor,GTlegends, GTR EVo Rfactor2 GTR2, LFS should keep me going for life :sly: One more thing is the third person view looks so arcade.. hell even Forza 3 looks more realistic...and that's not saying much.

So you think Kaz is lying? We haven't seen anything from the retail GT5 yet

“The damage physics are going to be applied to things like a bent suspension arm, tires hitting the wheel wells of a car, deformation of the body affecting alignment, the loss of power to the engine,” says Yamauchi. “We’re actually still working on setting the sensitivity level of the damage. You can have it so if you have a single hit your car isn’t going to be able to be driven anymore. It’s a matter of adjustment.”

I was not referring to the "droning" bass effect, which the demo recreated nicely. There's still the piercing, "purring" effect missing. The engine "tone", timbre as I wrote, was fine. Have you ever heard a tuba playing a very low pitch note? The fluttering effect is exactly what I'm referring to and what is missing from most GT5 engine sounds which tend to be too "smooth" over their operating range even under load. I'm sorry, I can't explain better, English is not my first language after all.

Thank you Cool for the quote above, its a pure voice of reason about how little we've seen so far

In the background, next to the Red Viper... is that a 08/09 Mustang GT500 I see? The white car, looks like it has the wheels, side decals and rear spoiler of a GT500 Stang?

Check 2 pages back ;)
Keep digging though, you post alot of good new info.

Oh Well :p

High quality Madrid footage, looks fantastic!

Toscana with Pro Physics - noticed spectators on this track, which I didn't before

That Madrid video is amazing. The replay footage at the start looks so real, and if you took away the racing line it looks so lifelike it could fool alot of people.

Edit: I really hope they give us a proper hood cam, because in that vid you can only see a tiny sliver of the hood and it looks like your sitting on top of the car.

Hey Guys!
I just wanted to tell you that i drove on the Nordschleife 3 days ago with my Opel Vectra and that i still pee in my pants when i think back of it :D:D:D:D
IT WAS SO DAMN CRAZY, I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT.

Just wanted to make you a bit envy... no really, you have to do this at least ONE time in your life, its just incredible!
