Don't automatically jump on the critics. Some of them do actually like GT5, and like the regulars here, they want GT5 to be the best it can be. If games never had to face any criticism, how would developers know what to improve on?

From the Kotaku author:
Oh, something I wanted to address but haven't yet. Regarding this GT 5 story, the actual video is slowed down. It is something that I should have noticed, but didn't. For that, I am sorry.

I hate that people think my honest mistake was deliberate, it really wasn't. Unfortunate because I'm actually looking forward to the game. After seeing it at E3, I made a deal with my car nut son to buy it at a launch. Again, apologies for all the confusion — especially to Polyphony who have put so much into this title

For those that actually do root against games and brands which are not their favorite, the best you can do is understand that nothing is going to change their mind, and don't pay them any attention. Life is too short to spend upset that someone else doesn't have the same opinion you do.

People shouldn't really focus on whether the guy is hating on GT or not. What really matters is his credibility. While he had little before for being just another Kotaku blogger, after such epic display of incompetence he has absolutely none left. Seriously, the guy is supposed to be a journalist but don't even try to confirm his story before posting it? A simple youtube search and he would realize there was something wrong with that video. While it's not really important, it does make you wonder if he was just hating on the game. Either that or the guy is just plainly stupid.

Both situations are bad to Kotaku's credibility.

Honestly, I was really thinking that the Signature Edition pack would feature at least a discount ticket for a G27 or even the DFGT wheel itself, but regardless of that the DFGT is a great wheel for the money.

I wouldn't count that out. Probably not a discount for a G27, but the DFGT is a good bet.

;)

The problem isn't really people not sharing my/our opinion, it's people sharing their unjustified negative opinion with the rest of the world through popular blogs like Kotaku (before the game is even out yet!).
If a newscaster is a racist then he has the right to be one, but he can't try to convince the people watching the news to be racists too. (rude example but you get the point )

I (and probably everyone here at GTP) have absolutely no problem with reasonable critics once the game is out, but right now such articles are just inappropriate.

While I do not like Kotaku, the guy did the best he could give his mistake. What got me was not really his mistake more the "tone" or vernacular he chose.

Not from where I stand. Try some constructive criticism here and see what happens. I got a lot of hate in this very thread just by pointing out something negative about GT, without even criticizing the game for it. Sure, the game isn't out yet, but I really doubt the outcome would have been any different if it was.

Does anyone know what the Sony press conference at GamesCom is about? Like, is it similar to the E3 Xbox Kinekt presentation or more like the F1 post race drivers interview?

The press conferences at the GamesCom are similar to the ones at the E3, most times a bit shorter and less spectacular though.

No. It absolutely was his mistake.
Anybody with half a brain who watched that video for more than 20 seconds could very clearly see that it had been slowed down.

So he either didn't bother watching the video he was posting which would be incredibly stupid......watched it but posted it anyway even though it obviously looked to have been slowed down which would be incredibly stupid......or else watched it and was too stupid to notice that it had been very obviously slowed down which would be incredibly stupid.

It was his job to fact check his own story.

Zod's argument is based on the fact that the game isn't out yet, which I sorta agree since there might be many things that can be utterly different on the disc when it gets to our sweaty and trembling hands. ;)

But I do agree that most of the fuss it's not about the critics by themselves, it's about the way you do them and the way people react to them. Constructive criticism is always welcomed for most of GTPers as far as I know, the game always had it's flaws and probably will keep many of them in this iteration, argumenting and pointing out these flaws is a nice way to enrich the discussion and provide some feedback to PD. Just make sure to wear your fireproof suit before meeting any Fanboy. :D

Which is why I criticize only the confirmed aspects of the game. Doesn't really make any difference when it comes to being flamed by people around here.

Very nice home made trailer with the complete versione of soul on display👍

very nice, cheers for sharing (checks how many days to go before release, yet again)

I think I might learn my lines for the Top Gear track after seeing this video. I've just uploaded it to Youtube. First time I've seen a complete lap from the Stig from the cockpit view, gives us a nice comparison with the GT5 version of the track. Check it out

Gamescom needs to happen sooner...

You know when Jeremy Clarkson yells "COME ON!!" and shakes in his car? Yeah, that's me.

hey guys, i don't know if this is the right area to ask, but has anyone heard any information that pertains to GT5 allowing custom music in game? i last heard it mentioned by sony but then it went silent for a while?! any information on this would be awesome :)

from the GT5 fact sheet

Players can create custom soundtracks from music stored on their PS3s to play in-game.

@ CoolColj
Thanks, that is awesome news, its been a while since i checked the updated GT5 fact sheet

Exactly.

In my eyes his credibility has gone simply because he didn't make any correction for so long and admit that the video was doctored. If this was a genuine mistake he should have said so hours after the story was posted. This 'response' seems to be the 'diplomatic' solution to satisfy gullible readers.

Did anybody notice at 3:30 the two Mazdas that are drifting the corner wheels are not jerking as they are going through. The old trailer had the front wheels jerking back and forth as they were going through the corner.

That was my major visual gripe with the game so hopefully they have corrected it. The speed at which the front wheels were trying to correct the car just didn't seem right to me.

That's what happens when you use a control pad

I didn't know that was what caused it but I wonder why the same video that showed it before doesn't show it now.
