Probably because race modifying is back :dopey:

So? Gt1-2 had the SAME prices for Weight Redux AND Stage3 was Mandatory, so in reality it costs more like 126k to R mod.

The rigidity mods were never included in Weight Redux as they have nothing to do with it, only R modding. So it cant be that theyre cheaper because you have to buy rigidity separate you always had to.

I think they just realized that weight redux isnt as expensive as they made it to be, but my guess is the R mod will be well over 80k.
But the CF hood alone is 4000 which means its most likely not included in any of the stages or the stages themselves take off less weight than before.

Stages 1 involves removal of parts, S2 & S3 replace parts, S2 replaces exterior body parts with CF(including hood\wings) in S3 the monocoque is replaced by a CF one.(In GT4)

So it does make sense that the mods are cheaper because we can now buy CF body parts individually. They might also remove less weight than previous GTs.

It was already explained that the GTR Yellow Hat has yellow wheels by default. Those are not brake rotors heating.

Yes, this is to see that is impossible that brakes are ever light on!

...

Best lap of 5'19.024 at Suzuka?

He's on lap 1. Suzuka doesn't have 4 sectors. I could go on.

Anyways, it's almost exactly the same as this image:

I think they're just teaser shots. The map locations don't match up with the cars, the g-force indicator doesn't match the direction the car is going etc. it's just all wrong, both of them.

The one with the White Skyline looks like a shot taken from Prologue and edited into the image. The NSX and SuperGT Skyline look like they're taken from a GT4 replay (Although they are standard cars, it still doesn't look like GT5 in my opinion, too much background blur).

I'd thought exactly the same when I saw them. They are almost certainly pre-final shots, but the "features" should be accurate, at least? Although they do keep changing from shot to shot...

Maybe the body / chassis mods have been re-imagined, in line with the new Race Modify Menu?

Oh ok. But I'm sure rotors will visually heat in the final game (hey...after all PD added reverse lights and skidmarks, right?)

To me, GT5 appears to be really GT6 Prologue now; especially when:

"Polyphony planning 'Gran Turismo 6'

Polyphony Digi…GamingPolyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has said that Gran Turismo 6 is already in the pipeline.

Speaking to Autoweek, Yamauchi confirmed that there will be a sequel to Gran Turismo 5 and that gamers will not have to wait as long for it to arrive.

"You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5," he said.

"GT5 was basically the creation of a whole new operating system, and developing GT6 will be like adding new applications that run on that new operating system."

According to Eurogamer, the recently-unveiled Kart racing from GT5 was originally intended for Gran Turismo 6 and was only bought forward because the information leaked.

"This is something we were actually saving for Gran Turismo 6, but the information leaked out so we decided we would just put it in this one," Yamauchi explained."
:dopey::)

💡 I guess GT6 will have more cockpit views :)

Kobhalt that's funny but incorrect. The so called "bumper cam" has the same position of the cockpit view, only with no cockpit design...it's just invisible.

And it's closer to the ground.

Indeed. Though to be fair, I don't think either of those are official shots (As in put out by Polyphony Digital, not Sony and their marketing machine). This is the only official and accurate shot we have:

I can think of another game that claimed to be the definitive driving game...

Gran Turismo 1 ;D

Really hoping for many more tuning bits this time, also glad to see race mod is back.

I am a little concerned that race mod may be limited to not many cars, will be disappointing if you can only put the mighty [R] in front of the usual japanese suspects.

No it's not. Just pop in your prologue disc, play in "bumper" view and switch to cockpit view: no height difference.

But the 'play' in the camera from the shock travel is annoying on 'bumper' cam; and you are closer on the bumper than being in the 'seat' in the cockpit :)

Yeah I just tried with the Lancia Inegrale...the "bumper" cam is like having the head on the windshield, not on the seat, but the height is the same as in cockpit view.

Wow... Monza in GT5 just looks so much more vivid than the one in F1:2010 :/

*Dribbles uncontrollably.* Does anyone remember that SWEET Shelby GT 350 R-mod in GT2, daddy wanty.

Quite similar actually, but hard to judge from off screen footage. GT5's version is probably a little more accurate though, simply because I think PD has put more time and effort into it than Codemasters.
I like gt5 Graphic but the colours are a little pit saturated!!

Has anyone commented on the car sounds in the latest build?

Yes. Yes I do. I think I can blame GT2 for my preference of the GT350 over the GT500...

What if day/night transition only does work on the four Course Creator locations? Now that would be a letdown in my opinion. :nervous:

I hope that at least day/night transition is fully functional in the Course Maker/Creator!!

It should at least be there, out of all the places...

It would be even more of a let down if it didnt work in the Track you 'created', but instead, works only on a selected few "standard" (read prefigured) tracks in the games.

THAT my friend would be sadder...

Since nobody has really been talking about Track Creator here:

HOW TO "CREATE" a track in 10 steps!:

Course Maker:

1) Select One of the Four Themes.
2) Choose between and Closed or Open Track.
3) Select the weather!!! (snow? rain? fog? wet? sunny?)
4) Select the time of day (night? day cycle active?)
5) Track is limited to 10km long (6.5 miles)
6) Track can be divided up to 4 sections.
7) Each sections can be given different set of corner characteristics
8) Select the frequency of corners for each sections
9) Select the sharpness of corners and bank angle of each sections.
10) Generate it, Race it and Share it! (Suddenly i feel GTP WRS much more
exciting and fun! GT games a la LBP! OH the combinations!! is infinite!)

Track generation was incredibly short, *(randomly generated from scratch, based on

the above set parameters... therefore it is not really possible to recreate an

exact circuit in real life) This isn't a full scale track editor...

But we got the next best thing!

and if you get bored with all this...

there is always Photo mode which is time and space dynamic!!!!

To bad we didnt get the Livery Edit. :(
