I hope that at least day/night transition is fully functional in the Course Maker/Creator!!

It should at least be there, out of all the places...

It would be even more of a let down if it didnt work in the Track you 'created', but instead, works only on a selected few "standard" (read prefigured) tracks in the games.

THAT my friend would be sadder...

Since nobody has really been talking about Track Creator here:

HOW TO "CREATE" a track in 10 steps!:

Course Maker:

1) Select One of the Four Themes.
2) Choose between and Closed or Open Track.
3) Select the weather!!! (snow? rain? fog? wet? sunny?)
4) Select the time of day (night? day cycle active?)
5) Track is limited to 10km long (6.5 miles)
6) Track can be divided up to 4 sections.
7) Each sections can be given different set of corner characteristics
8) Select the frequency of corners for each sections
9) Select the sharpness of corners and bank angle of each sections.
10) Generate it, Race it and Share it! (Suddenly i feel GTP WRS much more
exciting and fun! GT games a la LBP! OH the combinations!! is infinite!)

Track generation was incredibly short, *(randomly generated from scratch, based on

the above set parameters... therefore it is not really possible to recreate an

exact circuit in real life) This isn't a full scale track editor...

But we got the next best thing!

and if you get bored with all this...

there is always Photo mode which is time and space dynamic!!!!

To bad we didnt get the Livery Edit. :(

1) Select One of the Four Themes.??
5) Track is limited to 10km long (6.5 miles)??

There are more than four themes, there is a scroll bar at the right
Where did you find the 10km limitastion???

Front/news page.

GTPlanet @ GamesCom
Kazunori demonstrated all of these features and the track generation time was incredibly short. The track is limited to 6.5 miles/10km, but since that’s nearly twice the length of an average F1 track, even the most ardent future-Tilke should be happy!

I expect the scrollbar will go down when you hover over the bottom 2.
The private session said a max of 10km.

I guess rain can be confirmed as a weather type since this picture shows a rain cloud next to the word "Sunny".

The real question now though is what tracks are going to feature weather?

I am a bit worried we haven't seen a single image with rain. I'm wondering if it will just be standing water or if there will actually be a rain storm. Obviously the latter would be better, but we'll see. PGR4 did this very well.

In the course creator/maker: Weather will be featured...

You question must be referring to the preconfigured tracks in the games:
which of those +70 track will feature weather right???

answer: i dont know :p

Somebody realy needs to make Mount Akina!

Those are the four themes, the four locations where you can have tracks created.

;)

He is saying there is more than four because of the scroll bar on the right.

what?? that thin little white vertical line next to the top right picture???

I didnt notice that...
BUT it's goes half way through... if "scrolled" down, it looks as tho it will just go down to the lower level where to bottom two pictures are... that's it?

and plus it was confirmed by Kaz himself that there are only 4... but if there are more than than, i am not going to cry and complain... i want to believe you.... but not yet.

I'm sure most have, but if you haven't already, you should read the pieces about the classic "Cars of '67" on the offical website. I think that alone really shows how PD feel about cars and not just making a game :)

Check the behaviour of the dust at the start, it's different once again

another Monza vid - not sure on the car

We still need dynamic weather info and a final answer on damage

Hey people I just got back from the GC , I will see how the videos turned out , and upload the best ones

The point is, if no more than 4 locations/themes were considered, then no need for a scroll. So maybe DLC or more than 4 at launch (very wishfull thinking here).

Thanks for posting the vids 👍
I'm glad the Z4 M Coupé is premium.

EDIT: Damn, I'm getting slow...

Great! Can't wait :dopey:

re the dust, it isn't being blown about by the wind as much as it was in some videos, could be the wind changes all the time

About this pic again - it appears to be online B-Spec. AI name and then human name

I honestly believe that PD will constantly update GT5 with new themes for us to use in the course maker. that way the variation of tracks people make can increase.

That in my opinion might be the name of the teams that each driver is representing. I don't see how B-spec will work online.

Have a look at the other pics, those player names are shown in the chat with text

It'd work just like an online race, just in B-Spec mode. Instead of providing steering and throttle input in real time, you tell your trained monkey to do it instead - in discrete steps of "attack". Except, it's more in-depth than it was in GT4, so for longer races you have to manage your drivers, swap them at pits stops, choosing the right one to either make up the gap or maintain a consistent gap without knackering the engine, or something. It could also be played in accelerated time! :dopey:

IGN,GT5 preview

this is the part that I found very interesting
A live demo shows it in action as a Ferrari 458 Italia is put through its paces around the Nurburgring's Grand Prix circuit. It looks gorgeous, as you'd expect, but there's another revelation in the action. At the player's command, the Ferrari attacking outside the first corner and then holding its line for the inside of the next as it pulls an aggressive – and impressive – overtake on a Citroen GT car.

The next opponent is a Gallardo, which the Ferrari hangs on the tail of looking for gaps at each turn. As the first corner approaches again, it dives for the inside but the Gallardo blocks him off. At this the driver's mental status takes a dip – as indicated by an onscreen bar – and as it continues to push it makes more and more mistakes, overshooting apexes and letting the rear-end slip out a little too far as it falls into the clutches of the Citroen behind it. It's dynamic behaviour that suggests that Gran Turismo's A.I could, at long last, have been brought up to scratch.

ha, perhaps theres a correct set of combinations in the belgian ferns in the course maker that will actually give you spa... 👍

That ign interview sounded like petrolhead heaven.Awesome.I think the only way to improve on GT5, i think could be to add more features.Possibly give GT6 more personalised things, like decorating your own garage with car paraphernalia & shelved awards.More premium cars like the P4, GT40 & the Jaaaaaaag lol.More cars from across the board & probably more real race tracks.Where's Leguna Seca fellas, not seen it yet.

Yes. Yes I do. I think I can blame GT2 for my preference of the GT350 over the GT500...

And only because they included the 1968 GT500 instead of what is, in my opinion, the much more bad ass 1967 GT500.
