Ha Ha I may be sadder i have sat in the one at my merc dealership (when my car was being serviced) i was sat there for a good hour lol they even started it up for me to hear ( I had to get out though 👎) I held back on getting my photo taken I thought that was a step too far

Well I'm sixteen and I was in my local merc dealership and had my picture taken in the SLS and befriended the salesman :)

I once walked into a Ferrari dealership, and the car dealers started to laugh their asses of, and I left the place sobbing.

I always liked the story of Mike Hailwood and a friend who were planning to both buy the new Mercedes SL Pagode in the early seventies.
Both walked into the Merc dealership in their casual cloths and weren't recognised or even acknowledged as possible customers and were just ignored.
They then went to the Citroën dealer across the street and bought 2 brand new Citroën SM's instead and drove off.
Would love to see the expression on the faces of those snobby Merc salesmen when they witnessed this.....;)

My father once walked into an Audi dealership and was ignored. Funny thing is, he was there to collect his car (oddly enough, an Audi) after it had been serviced. He's since decided to jump ship...

Books and covers and all that. 👍

 I don't know if that's fair to Audi to just give up on them after an a:censor:hole salesman gave him the worst part of his bad day.

I gotta say based on my looks\age I'd probably get the same treatment at an Auto dealer, but luckily for me I'm childhood friends witth the daughter of one of the biggest dealers of exotic cars in Montreal, so I can pretty much call her up and go to the lot\garage and see green Challengers, Astons, Lambos etc, anything but Japanese classics are harder to find.

But their Classic\Exotic range is incredible, lots of Italian(of course) and lots of Muscle\Classic American(Scotti's favorite.)

Sadly, it wasn't just a one-off, and he wasn't going to go out of his way to get better service at a different dealer. Switch marque, stay local.
At a competing marque, just down the road, they were all over us like flies, despite the fact we went on a whim after some DIY and my being resplendent in my seasonal "beard of wisdom"...

Nice plug, by the way! ;)
Had a quick scan through the classics - quite a wide selection.

Tecmo Super Bowl and Nigel Mansell Racing for me!

They do have a great range, which is especially remarkable for Montreal, where 8 months out of the year the streets are white and drenched in salt. #carguyhorrorshow

I just dont get sales people\reps like that , I mean , you are in customer service, step your game up.

MMM those Fiats are looking mighty healthy! Still I pray for an Abarth 1000.

Think you mean the Fiat 500 based Abarth 695 ( the old one ofcourse ) as the Abarth 1000 is based on the Fiat 600.;)
Would love to see Abarth the brand appear in GT5 with at least the modern version of the 500.

Edit, or maybe you weren't talking about GT5.........

Since we are off top on the topic of car dealerships:

My father was good friends with the owner of a Ford dealer in down state NY. They had a Ford GT there and the owner let me ride shotgun while he drove it up and down the highway. Best experience ever! We did not even ask he just offered. Every Ford dealer I have visited has been extremely amiable.

Another funny event was my father and I went to the NY Auto show and somehow he convinced this rather arrogant guy from Manhattan Motor Cars to let us sit in an Evora. To be honest it was very disappointing. The leather was very nice but the car had no ergonomic values what so ever. You cannot see out of the back, you cannot see anything over the rear haunches and there is no place to put anything of size. And they wanted $80k. So yeah. What made it so funny was my father and I looked like the biggest bunch of slobs, but my dad has a way with words and some how this A-hole in his Italian suit let us in.

It will be so nice once GT5 comes. I we won't need to pull any stunts, just boot up the PS3.

No, the 1000, regardless what it's base is. A 1000 is a 1000! With Abarth touches\eccentricities such as a boot that does not close, ever, it's designed to stay open perpetually, that's the Abarth way, insanity!

I hope so!

Their life is on the line now, you can't sell petrol hungry cars AND be pompous these days, big no no.

I know the 1000 is the 1000, was mainly pointing out that if a classic Abarth was to appear in GT5 ( if that's what you meant ofcourse ) it would probably be the 695 ( pictured below ) as it's based on the 500 ( already in GT5 ) as it would perhaps be easier to alter an already modelled car.;)

Challengers at Exotic car dealer? Does not compute.

 :D , maybe they will even simulate the cocky salesman too, now thats realism!

One day you go to Ferrari with a fat stack of Cr. just eye-balling that F40, yet the salesmen are so pretentious that they don't want to look "needy" by approaching you.

So they all just kind of ignore you while peripheral-spying\carouseling around you to make sure if YOU are gonna approach anyone it should be them.

I think I'm happier with the mail-order catalog thing we got going in GT. I don't care if the car comes with the cardigan and shades.

I hate that, Ive been in the BMW dealerships and was pretty much ushered out, while the porsche dealership ignored me completely. But the Jaguar dealership treated me like I was a millionaire despite actually asking to see the part ex/used stock (the shame haha) they showed me around brand new XKRs and even left me alone with a the brand new £70'000 Jaguar XJ... it was a beautiful and incredible car and even joked about them accepted my Celica and (reached into pocket) £1.87p for it... I for one will go back there and buy a car from them simply because they treated me with respect!

If Kaz reads that he'll delay the game and add C-spec mode. Live the life of a customer and earn points to deserve the attention of snobby salesmen. :nervous:

When I was 17 I went to an exotic car dealership with my dad and convinced them to let me sit in a gorgeous diablo they had on display. My world shattered when I realised I was too tall to ever own one. I'm not that tall (6 foot) but the steering wheel was digging into my knees. :grumpy:

And before anyone asks, yes I did put the seat all the way back.

They are in the Used section (late 60's early 70's models) not the Exotics section, the dealer isnt an Exotic only, they even got motorbikes.

You ever seen the guys who design and test those things? They are pigmies!

This is GT5 news and discussion. I check here everyday for info on GT5 and every now and then I may make a post that I feel contributes to the discussion, not listen to someone trying to wind up genuine GT5 fans.

Had a similar encounter years ago.
Before Boardwalk took over, Ferrari of Dallas, when you walked in, had a guy who would come out & say rudely, "Don't touch these cars" in an Italian accent. Didn't like anyone coming in at all unless you bought something.

Went by Jaguar, had the nicest salesman, even got free tickets to the Dallas Auto Show that same year cause of him. Don't know whatever happened to him like so many other great salesmen I've met, sadly.

Looks like the photo was shot at dusk, does this mean day and night transition is available for this track?

I dont think They made day night transition for only one short rally track.

I've just cleaned up 28 posts of off-topic noise and inanity. 👎
Any more of that and this thread meets the padlock temporarily to allow you all time to consider what constitutes GT5 Latest News and General Discussion.

Smallhorses to the rescue. 👍

Somewhere in that mix was the comment: "off topic (whatever that means)"

I was beginning to wonder myself.

I hope we get more info about career mode at TGS.
