A few days ago someone posted a screenshot of what they claimed to be Grindewald. It was a S curve with the sun shining on the stone walls off the edge of the track.

If the person posting this is reading can you post it again? I'm certain it is actually the final few corners of Grand Valley and not Grindewald.

This one...

That was quick

And I'm wrong!!!

EDIT: I was doing the Grand Valley endurance race yesterday and those final tight turns had the stone walls, which after 50 laps had me thinking about that screenshot!

When I was 17 I went to an exotic car dealership with my dad and convinced them to let me sit in a gorgeous diablo they had on display. My world shattered when I realised I was too tall to ever own one. I'm not that tall (6 foot) but the steering wheel was digging into my knees. :grumpy:

And before anyone asks, yes I did put the seat all the way back.

Makes you wonder how Shaquille O'Neal fit in his Diablo, I know he had custom work but still.

I'm sure we'll get to know EVERYTHING about the game at the TGS.

Hasn't happened before any other full GT release so why should we know everything this time? Kaz has already said that they will not unveil all info before release, he likes to leave some suprises. For example La Sarthe was one of the suprises in GT4 at release.

We can still hope for Mt. Panorama then.:trouble:

So if that is the case how do we find out? Popping the disc in or relying on a review? Strategy guide?

Is this it?

A quick Ctrl-F revealed nothing related to Gran Turismo. Unless I suck...

Maybe it'll be under Sony. Usually, it seems GT5 is shown as a Sony title and not so miuch a PD Title. That and I don't think anyone expected GT5 to appear at of all places, comic-con (I'm still miffed at that one) so it could be a surprise.

You get the game, play the game, explore the game, find what you can.

For the rest come to GTPlanet and read.

GT4 had an interactive site for a few years, showed alot(far from all) models, and most the real world circuits, but again, FAR FAR from everything.

That's the GT way, and people love it, its not one of those games you can bribe your way through, theres no cheat codes and passwords.

Curiosity is all you need.

I just wonder how long until there is an unlimited money and 100% game save

games with trophies usually have locked game saves so i wouldnt be so sure there will be one

With GT4 and the previous GT games those were quite easy since we had gamesharks and stuff like that. Codes were out days after the game was released. With the PS3 those don't exist and save editors are few and far between.

GT5P saves weren't locked.

Since we are off top on the topic of car dealerships:

My father was good friends with the owner of a Ford dealer in down state NY. They had a Ford GT there and the owner let me ride shotgun while he drove it up and down the highway. Best experience ever! We did not even ask he just offered. Every Ford dealer I have visited has been extremely amiable.

Another funny event was my father and I went to the NY Auto show and somehow he convinced this rather arrogant guy from Manhattan Motor Cars to let us sit in an Evora. To be honest it was very disappointing. The leather was very nice but the car had no ergonomic values what so ever. You cannot see out of the back, you cannot see anything over the rear haunches and there is no place to put anything of size. And they wanted $80k. So yeah. What made it so funny was my father and I looked like the biggest bunch of slobs, but my dad has a way with words and some how this A-hole in his Italian suit let us in.

It will be so nice once GT5 comes. I we won't need to pull any stunts, just boot up the PS3.

I think part of the problem is that you guys were sitting in the car that isn't moving. While the Evora is a slight improvement over the Elise and the Exige when it comes to ergonomic and room, the value of these cars will only make more sense once you actually drive them. Not fast but twisty and technical track where light MR cars would simply shine. If you're looking for ergonomic in a stationary car, a Dodge Caravan would probably win hands down. I know few families who had lived in the car all the through harsh canadian winter.

Sounds interesting. I wonder though how it would work. I really liked the GT4 game save and it was amazing to have, I just can only hope there is something to do about GT5

Trophies shouldn't matter. I just gave a friend from another forum my game save for IL2 Sturmovik Birds of Prey. His ps3 crapped on him and I e-mailed him my save. I don't know if he has the same trophies I do, but one of two things happened, a) he got all the trophies I had when he started up the game and loaded the save file or, b) It didn't copy the trophies. That game has trophies and he said the save file worked fine.

GT5 should not be any different.

The save will work fine, but it won't unlock trophies from another PSN ID.

Brings up an error where the trophy would normally unlock.

If a game has trophies. present save game wont work .Trophies system dont give permission to start game

My save file worked fine after I e-mailed it to him see post above.

On another note, it will be a special day when this thread closes:sly:

I remember reading the 1st post and being excited for GT5's expected arrival..............Nov 2nd, Nov 2nd.......WOOOSSSAAAAH:)

Gran Turismo 5: A Tale of Two Controversies
Yamauchi responds to screenshot conspiracy theories and the recent flag controversy.
Posted Aug 25, 2010 at 12:18, By Anoop Gantayat

Years ago, conspiracy theorists analyzed Moon landing pics for shadow and reflection errors and successfully proved that America did not actually go to the Moon.

Now those same conspiracy theorists (or maybe their kids) have gotten their hands on Sony's recent batch of Gran Turismo 5 screenshots. This is the result:

Among the problems mentioned in the text bubbles:

* 1. The mini map appears to show the player's car in the incorrect area.
* 2. There are four cars in front of the player, but these are not on the mini map.
* 3. The mini map shows 20 cars when the position display lists 16 cars.
* 4. Even though this is the first lap, there are cars scattered about the mini map.
* 5. If this is the Suzuka Circuit, it shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to get through a full course. Why does the timer show 5:25?
* 6. If this is the first lap, why is "Last Lap" shown in the upper right?
* 7. If this is the first lap, why is there a Best Lap time shown? (The image creator notes that the game could be including past lap times.)
* 8. Why does the white car in front not have its break lights flashing when it's going into a hairpin turn?
* 9. Why do the analogue and digital speed readouts differ? (The image creator notes that this could be due to the analogue pointer being simulated properly.)

GT series producer Kazunori Yamauchi decided to issue a response earlier today to this screenshot via his Twitter. Seriously... he responded!

The screenshot actually isn't totally legit, he admitted. It was an early sample design image and is off in a number of areas. One of the edits they made in preparing the screenshot for public consumption was to change all the IDs to wine names, for instance.

Yamauchi apologized for causing worries and said that perhaps they should take some live captures during online play.

In more worthwhile news, Yamauchi also issued a response earlier today to the recent controversy regarding the game's Siena track. Apparently, some folks are in a fit over the game's use of certain background elements, in particular the flags that line the course.

A follower asked Yamauchi if deleting the offending content would cause a release delay. Responded Yamauchi, "We can delete it in an instant, but the flags of the city's various wards, which serve as one part of the beautiful background of ancient Sienna, are vivid and beautiful. It's unfortunate to have them removed."

I'm not sure if Yamauchi is actually saying that the flags are being removed, or if he's saying that it would be unfortunate if they were removed. Yamauchi does occasionally respond to English Tweets, so feel free to ask.

This is true. The majority of developers lock the save file out to prevent trophy "boosting". You can still use the save file, as long as your'e copy of the game is the same region as the save file. But it won't let you unlock any trophies.

Lurking the Forza website, makes me really hope that PD try to get input from the fans to get additional cars as DLC

I'd imagine DLC is a high priority once the game launches... Wouldn't be like Sony without a good amount of DLC :sly:

This has been done for most of Gran Turismo 5's development. Merlot, Malbec and other wine names appear in the "Who's Racing" box in a lot of the early and even recent screenshots.

They could do with earthquakes, volcanos, total event collapse, supernovas, hell freezing over, Jordan switching sides and the second coming of Zarquon, too ;)

Just seems to me like Micro$oft are clutching at straws.... Good for anyone who hasn't already bought the game though..
