Thanks for the responses but I was mainly pointing out that although I don't consider to buy an X-Box myself and, due to the simple fact I haven't played a Forza game, can't make a proper judgement myself or a comparison, the fact this game exists can be benificial to both sides purely because a competitor ( of whatever quality ) raises the game.
To be honest, before I started to read this forum I discarded Forza as just a rip-off GT-clone by the "evil giant" Microsoft but they did add new original elements ( livery editor for example ) and thereby made the genre as a whole perhaps more openminded to new elements in an existing formula.
And although I still feel more sympathy and loyalty for the GT-franchise, as I always have more sympathy for the original creation or idea of anything, this might also have to do with me remembering playing the very first GT and knowing what it did and what was before.
Both series undoubtedly have their flaws but this is also an opportunity for the other to improve and vice versa.
The loyalty or better put perhaps the importance GT played on the genre as a whole may be lost on a new generation of casual gamers and petrolheads who will simply choose the game and console which delivers the best product or best value for money.
This means PD ( and Turn 10 ) can't rely purely on a loyal fanbase or past achievements especially in the field ( games in general ) they're operating and this is a good thing for fans and future fans of both series.
Only wished there was a proper competitor on the PS3.
Now to get the debate back onto GT5, I'm wondering since there is going to be a much more comprehensive B-spec mode with it being a seperate game mode in GT5 and Kaz describing it as a manager type of game where you have to control 6 B-spec monkey drivers.
Does anyone think it might be a possibility to manage more than one car in a race during B-spec?
For instance a 24h endurance race with 2 cars with each driven by 3 drivers.
