They're talking about slipstream/draft.
Ahhh, cheers for that, that makes much more sense. Maybe thats why they've had to model Adrian Newey's brain into GT5. (and Vettels brain for the improved AI mistakes..)
They're talking about slipstream/draft.
I know it's there on the real car. But we've also actually seen the flashing lights on a race car. Why can't that button and most other buttons on the steering wheel be functional?
Cause we would practically need a keyboard to activate all of those buttons on the wheel and the dash, did you ever ask yourself that question and thought about it before you posted ?
plus it's very inconvenient when driving.
You didn't really ask that, did you? The button is functional, on the real car, but seeing as you can't physically touch the wheel, how does that translate to the game? You're right we've seen flashing hazards but that button means nothing in terms of user control.

Look, I was just sitting watching the video of the Calsonic GT-R on le Sarthe and saw the "Flash" button and thought of the clip of the Zexel GT-R that had the flashing lights, and made the connection. I was like "Cool! There's the button to flash the lights at slower traffic. Wait, didn't we see a clip of a car flashing it's lights. Hey, maybe that button is actually functional in-game." And instead of "hey that's pretty cool, man," I get a bunch of 1st graders making smart-ass comments.
morning, just a quick one here. OK, i understood now that standard cars do not have cockpit view. (anything about the PSP cockpit view???)
Will the Standard cars have the same physics as the Premium once?
Sorry if this question has been asked to death by now, but i can't keep up with every page thats been written here👍
Chris
Premiums and Standards will have the same physics. There's no reason why they wouldn't.![]()
You're right. the majority of people on here are at least kindergarteners. Seriously, there are a lot of people in here that need to grow up and stop whining about everything anyone says. So, I'm not freakin' perfect. Sue me and let's move on. Seriously, I got to start making a list of everyone's PSN names so I know who to avoid online come November.
You assume things way too quickly. I believe that's why they give you such replies.
Jus' sayin'

Yep, just to further clarify this, and it's why I see this premium/standard split as a complete non-issue. ALL cars in the game will be running with the same underlying physics engine, all suffer mechanical and basic superficial damage, and even the audio (for better or worse) will be the same standard for both classes. So, stick it in Bumper Cam view and just enjoy the game!morning, just a quick one here. OK, i understood now that standard cars do not have cockpit view. (anything about the PSP cockpit view???)

Organ-DonorWas excited until I read "Twitter". I'll just ask some teen girl I find at the mall tomorrow to do it for me.

I agree... Dave always gets pissed off at things,
Dave does have a point. Modern steering wheels are loaded with buttons. The wheels for the PS3, despite having some, can't reasonably be expected to do a lot of different functions. If we're going to be getting low and high beams for Premiums, my personal guess would be we'd get a button to change between them. Logically, a "flash" shouldn't use up a separate button; it could be a quick tap of the normal level-switching button. If that's how it's set up, of course. Maybe the driver animation could use the button on-screen though, that I can't see an issue with. Modern Ferraris have the manettino, but only one GT-compatible wheel has a dial even remotely similar to that.
It's sorta like the issue of left/right/rear view with a controller in Prologue. I can't be the only one who would actually prefer rear view to simply be holding both left and right view, as opposed to a separate, third button. Ergonomically it makes sense, and it frees up a button.
I suppose down the road it'd be a cool immersive feature for PD to include more interaction in the cockpit, but that'd be a ways down the road. They could focus on properly modeling transmissions first![]()

Yes i have, but the the person i was quoting wanted to know why we can't use most of the buttons in the cockpit. Why a keyboard for a flasher, haven't heard of a G27?
