Wow, I'm not going to have much of a need watching the Speed Channel anymore if we have spectator mode with racing like that. That's going to be so much fun just to watch, let alone participate in. One race you can watch a few supercars go at it, and the next you can go and watch a teeth-cringing rally race. Can't wait til November.

GT5: the real driving and race watching simulator :dopey:

If this turns out to be true i will be a happy man for a very long time. :)
GT5's budget is 80 million USD. They wrote 60 million.....that was in 2008.

So that tells me how reliable this source is...

Good for you man. 👍 All I said if this is true I will be happy.

"Japan: Hong Kong with it's city tracing"

Ummmm...I didn't know Hong Kong was part of Japan now. :dunce:

Yeah, we discussed that part yesterday. Gin back a page or two wouldn't hurt you.
Th magazine itself doesn't list hong kong being in japan, the translation does.

Temporarily off topic: I know this has nothing to do with GT5 news but because of a new rule regarding when you can put a race thread up (which in this case I can't do since its not the monday before), I want to bring attention to the 24 hours of Spa, which is on right now and at the moment, the only live stream I have is here. Can't find no live timing and scoring at the moment.

Enough of me now, back on to the topic at hand.

Its from the information on the news page. I never said this was true I said if it was true, I think some guy translated it from the French PlayStation magazine. Thats pigs statement was a joke just as the recreation of the barbecues smell from the 24th nurb race. The Hong Kong thing is mess up i agree but i think the translation was messed up.

Sent, front page has been updated :) Now if only there was live timing and scoring...

Dutch GT site GTHQ got access to the UK OPM and posted some scans featuring GT5. Again no news.

Well the release of GT5 is beginning to feel real after my local Game store, supermarket, Blockbusters now have the GT5 display cases with coming soon written on them.

I asked the manager of my Game store "isn't it unusual to have display cases this early considering the release is sometime in November". His reply was "yes normally its within 2months".

So im now beginning to think Europe may see GT5 before the US and wouldn't be surprised if the release date is around late Sep/Oct.

Slightly off topic. If someone is desperate to look for a "cheap" G27 to play this beast of a game, I made a thread in the cockpits section with a 200 USD price tag for a re-certified G27. I've bought a DFGT from that site (also a recert) that works perfectly.

Just got the US issue of OPM in the mail and here's some spec of info I got:

"Only premium vehicles will sport full recreations of interiors and major deformation traits like panel seperation"

As with the other articles, nothing new.

Hey guys, I have something to share with you, is something I have going round my head since a few days ago.

The thing is that with all that about the possible track editor for the GT5, which was discussed for the first time with this wind of amar212:
Third tale says that for the first time ever skypaths will not be just solid and already known but that new skypaths will be built by birdtamers from the parts of existing skypaths.

Everyone assumed that skypaths was referring to circuits, but what if instead of that it was referring to championships? Because seeing this picture:

We can see a section that says "Race Builder Tool". What if instead of a track editor what we will have is a championship editor where we can choose the tracks we want and then upload it so other people can run it or run it all together online?

I say this because PD never said anything about a track editor and we have gone scalded with the cars and people are already thinking that we will have a track editor for sure and it's not guaranteed at all.

What do you think?

I see you got that in Bold what does that mean to you? It still seams like we can get a cockpit view for those standard not just with the full recreation, It might be close but not fully recreated like its real life counterpart. 👍

I don't know man but what i do know is that many of those features have been confirmed already. I really believe that whats on this list will be in GT5. 👍

Well I have 2 magazines that say GT5 will have a track editor. Also the president of SCE stated as much. I think this announcement was unplanned as PD were going to announce this at a later date.

I will add weather is strongly rumoured to be in GT5 as are Go karts!

Just something I never saw previously in any official playstation article. Other then that as I said, nothing new.

we have round around this several times, and the matter of the fact is that the track editor is not present and is to point out that the "Race Builder Tool"is most likely to be a design tool for stablish rules into an offline/online race event, like for example number of laps, power limit and car class maybe adjust the time for qualify and practice sessions, in some cases most of the terms described are misunderstood or are taken into other grounds that does not correspond to the topic that they try to settle down, apart from that we also see a couple of descriptions like "team builder" and "club builder" which are related to what I just said.

You could be right but if this was no mistranslation then Yoshida's comment was pretty clear:
chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races

But I already fear if there really won't be a track editor (or weather, karting, etc.) there will be a lot of complaints, especially from the non-hardcore GT fans :nervous:
I for one don't think that there will be one either, but it certainly would be a great addition to the game.

A source saying the following with regard to GT5?
"Confirmed the lack of the Pigs"
Wouldn't seem as much of a reliable source to me.

Bloody EA. First they hold the Porsche license hostage, and now they've got the rights to the black and white cop cars!

Out of all the features that are still unconfirmed the one I want the most is weather.

Do you have to sign in online to use all of those features above? Or will they work offline as well? I ask cuz I kinda forgot my username/password :( lol.
