Translator-san, you're an absolute legend!

And also (because I know someone from Polyphony will be reading this), thank you all very very much for creating such an amazing game. I am still in disbelief from all of this epic news. Amazing work, PD.

He may be named in the credits somewhere.

Also really hoping the game sells awesomely so PD can really beef up the modelling staff numbers and get the premium models all hammered out by GT6.

Hey, I love all the news and everything. Can't wait. But still bugs me they're working on the next game instead of first releasing the current and keeping it up to date with various DLC packages. I was really hoping for GT6 to come out the next generation.

I don't think that they are already working on GT6. They have obviously spoken about all of the features they want GT to have, and they have to be realistic about it, so left some features for GT6. I can't remember where I read it, but GT5 has only taken so long because the programming was very complex for the PS3 so they were just future proofing the series. GT6 won't be anywhere near as long as a 5 year wait so i'm sure we will see it on this generation. DLC is obviously confirmed for cars like the 'Stealth Pack', but Kaz has also said that they wanted GT5 to be released as a full game on the disc already. So who knows if there will be lots of DLC installments. Personally i'd rather they worked on GT6.

Umm I'm not going there. Let's just say potential fears.

Because the on-board view or cockpit view as it is more commonly known, is only confirmed for permium models.

If standard models do not have the cockpit view, users will be stuck with either bumper cam or third person view (from behind the car.)

This cant be serious. GT5 is not even complete yet with only 20% cars premium. They better not even be thinking of GT6. :grumpy:👎
CONCENTRATE ON FINISHING GT5!!!!

Excuse me, but am I the only one who's getting a bad feeling about this? They're already working on GT6, instead of concentrating on GT5 and making updates for it. I for one don't want to buy a new game every other year.

GT5 is not even released and I was hoping not to hear anything about GT6 for years. :indiff:
Jeebus, guys. He said a feature in GT5 was one they hadn't intended to implement until the next iteration of the game, not that they had already developed it and were in the middle of making GT6. Chances are someone brought it up during GT5 planning as a new feature and it was determined to be put off until GT6 because building an entirely new engine from the ground up as well as the premium car assets would already be too time consumptive.

They probably have a whole file folder full of feature ideas that are not intended for GT5 and will be looked at when GT6 is being developed. I mean, have you guys ever looked at some of the making of stuff or studio tours for games after they completed? There are typically tons of mock up images and idea lists that just couldn't be pulled off and when questioned the developers say, "Maybe next time."

Not that it matters there is now way we would ever see GT6 within 10 years. I can guarantee that.
I guess you missed it a year or so back when Kazunori Yamauchi said that because GT6 won't involve building a whole new engine from the ground up that the development time won't be as long as GT5's?

Is it just me or are other people no longer excited for this game? I'm not looking forward to it as much as I used to be. I'll still buy it but right now I'm looking forward to other games. It's just taken an unbeleivable amount of time that I've become bored. Everytime someone mentioned Gran Turismo 5 I used to be so excited but now it's like "oh.. yeah, big deal.. have you seen how cool Mafia II looks? or what about the up coming Medal of Honor and Call of Duty?"

Yeah, none of the news we got yesterday and today really excited me.

Yeah, none of the news we got yesterday and today really excited me.

This surprises me, I mean I know most of what we have learnt was already speculated, but we have had

Track Creator
Go Karting
More cars including the Zonda confirmed
Monza confirmed
Interview with KY
Dynamic Weather confirmed
European Release date confirmed
A sneak peek within the APEX book

and probably other stuff I forgot...

And it is my understanding there is more information to come at 9am tomorrow once the press can release the information they have gathered.

Or roof cam.

If you think about it, the chance of driver view for up to 1000 cars is a bit steep and to much work, so in my opinion only the 200 premium cars will have driver view and the rest will have the views but that one.

This is fantastic news.
- Go-karting will surely be a blast and it also gives us a chance to practice when needed.

Practice what, driving? Why not just get in a car and a real track? From what I saw in the video, the track itself is so wide and so basic that you can almost go WOT the entire time. Not much of a practice or learning experience.

"Japanese interviews usually end with the interviewee giving some general message to users. Not this time! Yamauchi closed off with a surprise. He revealed that GT5 will feature a revival of the Racing Modify menu, an option that was last featured in GT2. It won't work for all the game's cars, of course, but the staff is trying to realize it for the cars players will be expecting

That's my fear, but I'll leave it for another thread.

Hopefully officer Famine can bring good news tomorrow.

Thanks for the 20th reminder.

Would be great to turn road cars, into premium rally cars.Would i be asking too much, if we get used cars from different eras like GT4 ?.

Locked up the front wheels when braking.

Oh nnooooo.

How come he's still turning whilst locking up the front end. The laws of physics say this is impossible.
This is in prologue too.
I thought this was a brand new physics engine?

The kart's outside tire (the one carrying the load and doing the actual turning) isn't locked.

The body animations when crashing and accelerating are very cool.
