The Fairlady Z on that game screen has to be a mistake, or it's referencing a 350Z, because the car only started sale in 2009.

Unless they mean the pre-production model...

And Maggot's post was in regard to my use of WRC to signify the series rather than WRT to signify the team. He misunderstood why I was using WRC there.

If you imagine that GT5 was mostly made around 2007-08. most 2009-10 cars will be prototypes and pre-production models. cars like the Ferrari California must of been modelled and programmed more recently.
Kinda means we'll probably see the 458 Italia as a concept or have the production model as DLC.

ZR-1 is a 09 model, as is the GTR Spec V and so it the Veyron (assuming GT5 will have it)

Well, the current gen models of the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger are both considered 2010, as is I believe the Ford Mustang. So a majority of the American models will probably have those years. Either that or they'll appear in their 2007 concept forms among other current production models that were introduced as a concept around those years. GT5:P did it with the GT-R Proto '05 and the R35 GT-R '07, for example.

A good example is BP Ford and Stobart VK Ford. both are a WRT. but same Focus RS WRC car.

Kind of - The Ford works car get all the new tech - the "customer cars" that the Stobart team use (+ Muchies etc) get the previous years model.

Ford HQ wouldn't be too impressed if they got beat (regularly) by what is technically the Ford B Team.

If you ever get the chance to have a tour of M-Sports facilities I'd recommend it, there's room for approx 30 cars in the workshop, although the Ford works cars each have their own private workshop and you don't get in there unless you have the proper clearance!

Seriously, that place is like Bond villain's hideout...

As for the 458 being in the game, it wouldn't suprise me if it ended up as the packaging's "cover car"

Am I blind, or what happened to the R33 and R34 Skyline?

You're right they appear to be missing from the list too, seems The359 trimmed a little too much from the list. :)

Jay
ZR-1 is a 09 model, as is the GTR Spec V and so it the Veyron (assuming GT5 will have it)

The Veyron we've seen so far (PSP photo) is an older model, since it doesn't have the 09 led front lights.

There's a clearly visible Nissan 370Z

Well PS blog listed it as a 09 so thats why mentioned it as one, I didn't know about the Veyrons LED front light update. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah I said a few times it's the 370Z (in other threads, but it has been mentioned here), but GT has listed it as a Fairlady Z '08, Fairlady Z naming is fine but the 08 part is odd although it was modelled in 2008.

If you remember in GT4 there were some 2005 models when the game was released first in 2004. it even had the new Eclipse which wasen't released until 2006.

Chances are the company's give them access to the car before it is officially announced to the public.

Well, of course. Otherwise the game Gran Turismo Concept would not excist. ;)

but, the Audi Le Mans quattro has also been seen in some recent screens for GTPSP An interesting car to be in GT5.

I think you could add the XJ220, the Tiburon and the McLaren F1 Race Car to the list, since they're on the PSP screens
GT PSP has nothing to do with GT5... yet.

The list should only contain cars we know for sure will be in GT5. 👍

Another car that should be removed:

Trial
Celica SS-II ('03)

Haha, I feel terrible to just tell which cars should be removed all the time! But I think it's nice to get it right. :)

I agree with Strittan, I can't find any source mentioning the Trial Celica being in GT5. Of course I may be wrong so if you have a source... ;)

Also, I think the Citroën Xsara WRC '06 should be removed because it was mistaken with the Ford Focus RS WRC '08 in the Gamescom demo ;)

No no. The Citroën shown on the E3 trailer is actually the C4 WRC.
About the Xsara, someone said it was in the Gamescom demo but clearly, it isn't.

But really, where the hell are R32 and R33 Skylines? R32 was in GTHD, and I've also seen R33 on 2 screenshots!

Also, and I know it's pushing it a bit too far but this car

Nissan
(Nismo) Skyline GT-R R-Tune R1 (R33-gen, '99)

is actually R34-gen :D
