I can see polygons in the headlight lens. Tsk Tsk PD. 👎

;):sly:

I think GT5 has the greatest modeling and detail of any racing game period. Not even PC sims match it. So amazing detail.

Wow , that even looks like glass.

lol After you really see all the detail of each car, you then start understanding why there are only 200+ premium cars which is an accomplishment even of of itself.

These screenshots really do represent an artist at heart and someone who has dedicated his whole life to the automobile.

I salute you Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital!! Oh, and tranlator-san!! Can't forget him!

See how clean Lamborghini is written on the caliper, look at the damn bull! Very nice Lambo wheel.

I find it more amazing that each of those holes are actually modeled in the correct pattern.

I dont know how we are going to find the time to race, we are all going to be too busy looking at stuff, tracks, cars.........the level of detail is staggering. The standard cars will look staggering to,imo, if this is how good the premium cars look, standard will be pretty awesome too!

I agree. The whole game is eye candy!

The below is from this image where you can see the track, sky and clouds reflected in the lens. (zoom in some more using "ctrl" "+")

The below is from this image where you can see the buildings reflected in the headlight cover and the projector lens.

Agreed.

Like someone mentioned before, I'm think I'm also going to watch replays over and over again, details etc... more than playing GT5. :D

Love the weld detail on the Karts.

And also the manufactures markings on the Miura headlight lens.

Great pics, was worth the wait with my gprs connection :)

I think for the PS4 Sony should just give PD and phone call and ask them what specs they want.

I cant believe that they have got all of that to fit inside 256mb of RAM.

Wow alot of time has been put into these cars.
Incredible detail.
Photographers wet dream.

The driver in the first shot is evidence of what could be a driver avatar feature, something I made a thread about months ago. The other to shots just show how much effort PD puts into recreating a real place in their games.

Tried searching for it but did not find it, what was the details on that?
The reason I ask is because when I read what you said (above) what came into my mind is that you take a picture of you'r face and the game puts it onto the driver.

I noticed a difference between the in-game and the photomode model of the Jaguar XJ-13. Of course the in-game models would sport less detail to keep up graphical performance, and zooming in on an in-game-shot up to this level is somewhat unfair. Still, I thought this might be interesting to see just to know the difference. This not meant as criticism of the graphics.

Some of these pics are amazing but i'm assuming there is a difference in the level of external car detail between standard and premium cars, not just the fact that premium cars also have interiors? If that is the case then I wonder if there will be a limit as to how close you can zoom into the standard models and super close shots are only allowed on the premium cars?

Wish I hadn't seen that Interceptor

Here's the link- https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123120

Anyway, what I mean is, you can create your own driver (like in F1 championship edition). Only in GT5, you can make them where non-racing uniforms, like a tux and sunglasses. (other evidence of this is seen in the Toyota FT-86 Trailer, and Ferrari California Trailer)

Are these details ingame or photomode?

ll these pictures are absolutely amazing... all the details are fantastic...

Didi you notice that this Zonta is flying?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Agreed.

And there are people out there complaining that there are only 200 premium cars. The insane detail in these images explain why!!! 👍

Lets get some zoomed in shots of standard cars.

^ I would prefere any shots of standard cars at this point :D

Nice spots (especially headlight detail) and editing vigi147 👍

That's what Yamauchi meant with "better suited for the next console generation". The PS3 cannot handle the high-lod models in-game. Nothing to complain about though, the normal car models still look better than in any other racing game.

@vigi: Nice mix, love the 3D screws.

Same as GT4, the Garage and Photo Travel(not photomode which just snapped from replays) models were much nicer than the replay\gameplay models, most noticeable was the rims, 2D vs 3D for the Garage\Photo Travel.

Fair compromise though , most play in cockpit view(when available or bumper\hood) so you would only see that detail in replays or chase , which is too distant to notice that.

At least we can access that level of detail in Photo Travel GT5, I only hope they have a cockpit\engine explorer in garage and photomode. To really take advantage of the incredible detail.
