Sonys Official TGS 2010 Website

Not sure if this will eventually contain much information and will need translated. Just thought Id mention it anyways just in case it is of some use.

Once TGS starts that page will have trailers and info of the games being shown there. Also as previously mentioned they're going to be streaming some of their stage shows. Which is a lot more interesting now that we know PD is having one.

What kind of logic would that be? There is no reason for it to be limited only to specific races.. if the weather is in of course. Day/night transisiton we have seen only on rally stage so yes it can happen but i highly doubt it. But if i remember correctly there is an old screenshort of the GT Citroen racing at night at London track.

It would be PD logic. Just like day/night transitions and damage(I think) are limited to some races/tracks, why would weather not be the same way?

Can't wait. Things will hopefully get interesting.

Went to Best Buy today again to play just because of the hype.

Will Playstation Home / Japan or other regions have a TGS virtual booth?
Havnt used Home in ages but curious?

Yeah we've seen tracks at night before, if you can look through all the extra FX PD used to disguise them :)

The parts at night were CG and the other parts were Prologue tracks.

It looks really compact on the picture so hopefully you're right.
Of course, this is just a placeholder (or whatever it is called)

We have seen more day/night transitions, check at 0:27 and 0:40.

Is that or is it not the official layout of the SONY "area"?

Actually, there is, some tracks might require too much processing with changing light angles, they might have static pre-rendered shadows, same can be said about forecast. In endurance cars are spread out a lot, and we have only seen two cars at once racing in rally. It's already amazing what they can do wich such limited memory resources with the console, but you have to remember they are at its very limit and some track and race configuration might not handle 16 cars on-screen, plus weather, plus light cycle.

Where is there a place to get these updates in English? The live stream is going to be in Japanese, I'm not sure if they'll have an english translator. I suppose regardless video is all universal and we'll know what they're talking about if they show us

I hope the big news that comes out of TGS, isn't what said, but whats not said. I'm not expecting car & track list, but that the major features such as weather, day/night transition & standard cars are touched.

Funny that you bring up this memory issue, when GTA4 has these same features, random weather changes, day/night cycles, more than 20 cars on screen at a time, plus NPC's and even GTA3 on PS2 had these features, all i'm saying is even though these are different games these things should be possible on the given hardware and if it's so limited in GT5 is because they either got lazy, ran out of man resources, or time, I'm getting tired of seeing 2 car rally races something that i have been seeing since GT3 A-Spec.

Yeah, it's like a reproduction of the real life with all its glory. It surely demands a lot of processing power. But I do want dynamic rain no matter what! lol

Some people don't believe that much will be shown at TGS. Doesn't the fact that the show is in Japan help? Maybe Kazunori can get on stage and give us a speech himself, full of details that weren't mentioned in other shows so far because of distance from home, language difficulties, need for a spoke-person etc. This time, everything is going to happen at home, right next to PD's building, to PD team: they have everything on their hands.

I'm very excited for this show! It starts on Thursday 1:00 AM for me! :D

What do you need to ask yourself is if GTA3 would be possible with GT5 graphics.

Also:

It's really not that simple. Trust me. For example, GTAIV cars have 500k polygons? There's a lot more going on than just a feature list. The reason why it may not be possible to have Day/night transitions and weather in all tracks is GT5's unbelievable graphics. They sure chew away a huge chunk of memory, for one.

I like how people assume they know what goes into creating a game.

@ killaaron and anyone else who feels the same.
Do you honestly think they arn't trying to get the most out of everything the can? do you think they are half-assing the game? Do you feel these people don't take their job seriously?

people please.

I'm so excited, I can't wait :)

Me too drugs pills I need them LoL :scared: I need GT5 having withdrall need input some new facts

Tokyo is 30 mins behind South Australian time which makes it an hour behind Australian Eastern Time (NSW, Vic, QLD).

Probably the most boring fact about TGS but I figured someone would be interested.

I'm pretty sure that tomorrow we will get some great footage of Spa circuit under the rain!guy's,in that case I will cry,Sorry!!

I simply cannot wait for tomorrow.

My *reasonable* dream of an announcement simply confirms Spa, Laguna Seca, Monaco, Trial Mountain, Deep Forrest, and Grand Valley Speedway (full). This would make me a happy, happy man.

However, I would explode if they also reveal that Porsches will be included in the game (as much as I doubt it).
