That's a bit of an exaggeration as to the handling of the cars, and the second post out of your two you've used that exact term :boggled: Can't say I've noticed this "driving on ice" feeling.

The handling thing has been discussed in many, many threads, and most of us here come to consensus that it's pretty accurate, even for higher powered cars, according to those around here who've driven higher-powered cars.

Yes, yes, a bit of an exaggeration obviously, it's more like Ice that has had rock salt sprayed on it. :p I'm only kidding of course, but the only reason I use that term is because this is how simmers used to describe GTR1 and that's what driving a high HP car in gt5p feels like. I'm starting to sound like a broken record here ...

Anyways, I'm sure you guys here on the forums agree that it's pretty accurate, but 'pretty accurate' is not accurate enough. Very subtle and marginal physics adjustment separate a good sim with 'pretty accurate' physics from a GREAT sim. I want gt5p to be a great sim. I'm eagerly anticipating the update.

people don't like that though because then you have two variables: driver and tune. This is why, for some crazy reason, people loved the last world event. A bunch of averagly quick cars, understeering all around the track, in a world-wide punt fest. I think I did it like twice, because I could not stand driving either one of those cars. I simply can not drive unmodified cars, but for another crazy reason plenty of people seem to have plenty of fun driving slow cars..hell they'd probably have tons of fun driving a stock cappicino on N1 tires around suzuka.

The last WE was not that bad, there were a lot less punters than in a normal NTSC race. The 2 cars were also relatively easy to control compared to most unmodified cars, especially when you could change the control the AWD on the fly for the GTR.

Anyone has idea on how big the PATCH will be?
*guesses between 1/4 and 1/2 gig.

Just got some news from PD gtp5 that some content free right now will be a paid service. Its a good thing that I have this content downloaded before.

Ya, but it says that you still will have to pay for it just not redownload it. That sucks. I'll have to watch the GT-R legend videos one more time tomorrow.

In addition, other gameplay enhancements come with this update, like fixes in penalty judgments, more tire choices for Time Trial and improved physics during collisions between cars during online races (YES! We’ve been carefully monitoring players behaviors online and all your comments on the forums.)

Yeah, make sure when they hit us we spin correctly

This update better freshen things up online, because the same ol same ol random 3 lap race is getting old fast

Yep, and the full content list is suspiciously missing the 24 hours of Nurburgring. So why did I download an advertisement for that?

Starting at $1.99. I doubt I will be getting the Pd produced stuff unless they start breaking the 30 minute mark. Although, it did say free AND pay-per-view.

So, hopefully there will be some decent free stuff.

Yeah, I'm hoping there will be some good free stuff.

The site says that all pay-per-view programs will be $0.99 for the first two weeks. After that, everything jumps to at least $1.99.

$2 is not a bad price but for people in the UK they will probably charge us double what you pay.

Earth,

They have been old since the first week..Along with the DC's, and other problems with online.

Talkin about that people in Australia is another thing also. It's like double the price.
I hope everything runs well & neat, also what they said earlier about some free stuff. Let's see how everything comes along for tommorrow. Maybe i'll be awake when the udpate happens =)

I wonder what is going to happen...

Start off the day I will update. Look around. Then re-add some settings. Go racing/drifting online 👍

Wait does that mean events online are different?

Drifting may be difficult without the S1 tires...

i hope the stupid update doesnt become a [edited by moderator] like the Spec II update we had earlier

How many hours are left till the update hits us?

Also I'm wondering if any tracks / cars will make it into the game. I really hope so. Especially new tracks is something I personally need really bad.

If theres some decent 1080p vids of supercar vs supercar in one on one races, and the vids are like at least half an hour long, then I may pay for it if it's around £1 per vid.

update hits on august 1st, its only the 30th. so we got some time left until it rains upon us

Quick question:

I know that if you update the firmware for the PS3 you can use a USB drive or SD to save the new firmware and transfer it from a PC to your PS3. I'm kind of limited internet wise which is why I'm asking if itwas posssble for me to update GT5:P using this same method and if so from what site would I get it from?

Yes but it's 10:32, 31th july in Japan, so I'm wondering if it's japanese time or something? We don't have any details about new cars or tracks (or if any), right?
