Quick question:

I know that if you update the firmware for the PS3 you can use a USB drive or SD to save the new firmware and transfer it from a PC to your PS3. I'm kind of limited internet wise which is why I'm asking if itwas posssble for me to update GT5:P using this same method and if so from what site would I get it from?

the update is handled through the game so you can't download it from a PC then put it on the PS3.

I'm assuming for ppl in Australia (like myself)
Will get this update on the 2nd of august (Saturday) ?

could someone please confirm this for me thanks in advance =)

GTTV doesn't mean anything to me at all I'm afraid. I would have liked damage, new tracks or private rooms. But there might be one or two surprises. Or not (Really ambivalent about it) since PD sort of moved GT5 to perhaps 2011

90% about GTTV - which is almost completely uninteresting to me - and 10% "oh yeah there are some new game bits", most of which are pretty non-significant. I'm feeling underwhelmed at the moment. This looks to be going the way Home is - incredible focus on minor detail "features" which are delaying or preventing any work at all on the real problems.

GTTV IS completely uninteresting to me. I couldn't care much less about it. I just seriously need some more cirquits, and I can't imagine the modellers haven't finished more cars and tracks since last update, so I was sort of optimistic. Untill the update description was released, which didn't mention anything of the like.

I still like to think there's a chance though :)

Edit: in 30 minutes it's the 1st of August in Japan. (if that IS the release time of the Japanese update. I read somewhere that it would be released in the afternoon. That leaves us with more than 12 hours.)

Real problems (damage, private rooms online) were promised for the Fall update.

I said it somewhere else before, I don't think that August 1st is Fall anywhere on the planet.

Now they are updating physics regarding tires and collision and adjusting penalty judgments (according to the in-game News) so it may make online more enjoyable.

As for GTTV, I am just looking for quality race footage that I can't get on my basic cable package here in Po-dunk, Kentucky. Just to get Speed, which is mostly NASCAR and has a NASCAR favoritism, would be more than an extra $20 a month as I would have to get digital cable and the sports package. And then I would only be interested in less than half of what Speed has to offer while paying for things like Golf Channel and NFL Network (OK, so that one might get used by me). Anyway, if GTTV gives me an opportunity to watch race footage I want cheaper than it would be for me to get otherwise I am excited about this.

According to the official website the update will be available around 21:00, 1st of August, Tokyo time (after a network maintenance). So, only 21 short hours to go :)

Make sure you copy your setings...
The following content will be reset when the update is applied.
- Ranking
- Key assignments set in “Option”
- Quick tune settings saved for individual cars

There won't be any new tracks or cars in the next update otherwise they would say so.

(please let me be wrong)
Sorry, you're wrong. This is just a minor update. Maybe more luck in the fall's update.

This update is more about making money through GTTV than it is to improve our racing experience.

For the globally time challenged folks out there in the US, 9 PM Tokyo time is actually 8 AM EST for your reference. Shouldn't effect any online races tonight unless we are all up WAY too late.

Can't connect to the Gran Turismo servers now, the update might be on the way :)

edit: never mind, connected now...

yeah trying to get our hopes up ey!:D Just jokes.;)

Well the most recent news that we can be a little certain on is that the update should arrive sometime on the First of August. Soooo until the 2nd of August we should all try to just chill out...or take some heavy anti-depresants if your in a bad way:crazy: lol:lol:

Waiting on the update...👍

Nope. In your case, Australia probably won't see the update until late-night August 1st or the morning of the 2nd.

Ah.. thought that might have been the case, i was told possibly by lunch time aussie time.. Another 12-18 hours wont hurt.. hehe:sly:

Previous updates have usually come thru by early evening NZ time, so maybe late arvo in Aussie.

Sweet! According to this ETA it should be hitting my time zone at around 5 am. I know we technically get it at the same time but I feel like I get it so much earlier than the rest of you.
