The SR is tightly tuned at the moment, it’s also deferred in how it presents.

They are really doubling down on contact especially rear contact or accident proximity.

Ironically you can drive around the whole outside of the high speed ring :/

If I’m being honest and helpful, you probably are making more contact than you realise, not maliciously but accidentally them or you.

On the CSA thing most people fall in to tow camps, fast enough not to need it or need it to be fast enough to compete. Honestly don’t worry about them just do you with what works.
I was at HSR and I may have been following too close (well, I was for sure following too close), the guy in front checked up and I plowed him in the back. I got a deserved 1 second penalty and still got a clean race bonus. I dont quite understand that one

What's the benefits of the CSA? is it as simple as it means I won't lose the backend as easy?

Is there a downside to it like with TC where if you don't need it then it will make you slower?

CSA does all the micro opposite lock catches, it’s quite powerful for a lot of the faster road cars or really slippy tire/track combos.

It is also helpful in contact situations but it’s not perfect and you can still spin.

The down side is mostly over pushing the car artificially which makes the car unstable. The other downside can be exit understeer as the car won’t turn/rotate as naturally as the system can’t tell the difference in managing angles just slip vs no slip.

Ik, I feel like I have pace for DR A but I'm so slowly gaining SR back, I had another 2 clean races and it didn't go back to A (close but haven't).. Can I even get promoted DR A if SR is B? Is 2,5 ranks SR below DR for reset true?

sorry for stupid questions...

also I tried weak countersteer assist and didn't see much difference tbf so I'll stay clean of assists..

Are you doing daily B or daily C?

honestly I'm really not enjoying gr3 or 4 cars, I did 116 races in gt 7 since I started playing and Id say maybe 95 or something like that are in A races
Ah ok - I was going to say the easiest and quickest way to get SR is race C as they are longer so there are more sectors to hit cleanly and i believe it increases SR quicker, I can't help on race A as I've never done it, but I believe the shorter duration will lead to smaller SR jumps.

Surprisingly DG edge site has the next 5 races C listed in advance.
From next week we'll have:

  • Fuji, GR4, hard (1×), 10 laps
  • Dragon Trail Gardens, GR2, soft/medium (4x), 20 laps
  • Sardegna A, GR3, soft/medium (5×), 15 laps
  • Bathurst, GR4, medium (1x), 13 laps, mandatory pit
  • Nürburgring Endurance, GR3, hard (3x), 5 (!!!) laps, mandatory pit

Hope my assumption is right. If true I'll be on race C for the next month.

That's a nice run of tracks if that is right. Gr 2 at Dragon Trail will be super fun

Aside from the GR2 anomaly at DTG that’s rounds 2-6 of forthcoming manufacturers GTWS exhibition

Those are the manufactures cup races?

I wish they’d do shorter versions of those cups for us endurance haters 😁 (if I can even call 13 laps endurance)

Couple of short races iso

Gid this weeks dailies are a bore, did a race A this morning, I didn’t have a great QT yet but started pole, won by 8secs 😞 which wasn’t fun, even had a D rated driver try and punt me off but ghosted through me 😁

Haven’t tried HSR but might have to just have a few races of it soon, without wall riding, just to break it up

@hardvibes theyve fixed it? So ppl racing normal now there? 🤗

I'm enjoying race A so far - it's likely to be my home for the rest of the week. I'm more comfortable in slower cars. Haven't been punted off yet. You need momentum and precision to make a pass.

Mixed lobbies B to A+. My current qualifying time :57.0 is good enough to start top 5 at the moment.

Is this for the live events that people have qualified for or are these for us to race in?
Exhibition series, just for fun. Everyone can play.

Okay I'm done with High Speed Ring. The worst daily B choice they could have made. It just ruins DR and SR. I went from AS to BC.

How's 13 laps of Redbull Ring?

It’s a good solid race but I would suggest a solid Q time is required to avoid the chaos at the 1st & 2nd corners. I’m racing in low DR-B SR-S lobbies 🤠

Thanks. Now I see I'm kinda used to it since we had it with that same top car (Gr3 Subaru) a few months ago.
Since DR and SR also count for daily A I might try that. More relaxed, maybe? Climbing SR is a pain in the butt when you're only matched with low rated players.

I did a couple of races of B at lunch and despite the reset it’s still got wall riders and no pens being dished out.

It’s also just not that much of a fun race, I was in the middle of a 6 car draft bump train and man that wasn’t fun at all,

Back to A from here I think as at least there is some technical to do their

Hopefully see you in race A then, mate!

Gave RBR a go last night, it's odd in that it is the opposite of Fuji. With the d-pad I was a demon at RBR, the corners are such that you can do the "d-pad cheat" and go high, really wide and square up the corner and FIRE out because the traction is smoothed out on the controller. With a wheel the exits feel was sketchier.

Tried several cars, in the end the Beetle and WRX had same optimals for me, but Beetle easier to get there. Ran a 29.4 which feels about 3 to 4 tenths slower than I need. As usual, I am struggling through slow corners, I just do not carry enough speed which in itself costs time, but also affects exits as you drop revs. By slow I mean really tight like last corner at Deep Forest and T3 (some say it's T2) at RBR (the uphill super tight one).

I do think the FOrd GT has potential for better drivers, I got it down to a 29.6 so I reakon faster guys can make a go of that if you don't want to be in the meta.

I saw Sammysnake say on his stream today that he used the Beetle all day Monday but as soon as he switched to the WRX he dropped 4 tenths so it might be worth keep plugging away with it.

T2 is such a hard corner to get right, on the fastest replays the they are all getting on the gas before they even which the apex which just seems impossible, T3 is a killer for me as well, I just can't get the right speed and angle to clip the apex and get on the gas straight away.
Get you hanging with aliens and YouTubers alike 🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha I wish - KentishGent barely did any laps and I'm guessing Glen and Barney haven't done too many either but I will take it whilst I can :) I really want to get a 3 or 4 tenths off and I feel if I can get T2 and T3 hooked up it's there, but I'm finding myself just time trialling instead of racing! I'm morphing into you  going to try and get 3 or 4 races in this eve and maybe 10 laps of TT at the end once I'm all warmed up.

🤣 I’ve a decent DHL livered WRX which was a belter at RBR last time, I’ll certainly do some races there this weekend and some trialling it

On the whole I've been enjoying Race A this week (it's only Tuesday, my god). But I've noticed my tendency to completely bottle it when I'm trying to balance attack and defence. For the most part, I was starting around 4/5th, but later, into peak hours I'm dropping to 9th or 10th.

This car is a piece of cake to drive quickly, but controlling the thing when you've only got one eye looking ahead (because the other is looking behind, thanks punters!), it's a very different proposition. I've become terrified of hitting Sector 3 because that's where everything has been hitting the fan. Trying my best to use the necessarily feather touch on the brakes around the twisty bits, but usually there's some genius ploughing their car through with all the subtlety of Mr.Blobby.

The really frustrating thing is that there's one corner where i'm several tenths quicker than most of those chancers (that's the flying right hander where the chicane used to be), but obviously there's no chance of gaining positions there. And so the Sector 3 barrage continues.

I've gained a tiny bit trying the WRX, but my optimum is still best with the 458. I don't like the WRX to drive and feel more comfortable in the 458.

Not tried racing yet, as not particularly keen on B or C this week 😐
I relented and went to the WRX for a few laps and it’s got to be the gearing that is so strong for T2 and t7/8 that makes it so good.

I’ll probably only do a few Cs and mostly As this week

On another note, it’s be decades now that for some reason in QT you get started on the limiter, it’s a bug bear of mine tbh especially when it’s a mile long straight at Fuji, and the missed shift is annoying to start the lap
