I did manage getting into the 16s at Bathurst but the racing I must admit is not great, these mixed lobbies make it super frustrating to race, not much passing if anything going on,

This race A you guys gotta try, this is fun in those little cars, I’ve got a 20.5 in me I’m sure, could be the one to put me on a decent DR level again

Need a few friends there mate? Nice time btw
I do! I should have played nicely last week and I wouldn’t be in the naughty step this week on my own 😂
Please do. Thanks
Shared under GTplanet hope it helps mate.

Don’t take anything from the last two corners, I lost 3 tenths against the delta in those. Was late on the power in both.

Anyone else struggling with the gear shift neutering? I was not one to spam the box before they brought in the change but man, the last and first turns are a nightmare, NFI if the car will shift down.

Yep that took some getting used to, seemed a pointless change tbh, if every one has it then why get rid

I’m sure in race cars you can force the gears down, the constant missing of them is boring

It is so bad at the final turn, don't feel like I am spamming the gears at all but man the delay to change down to second is crazy.

I think early morning or late afternoon time is where I normally see some split lobbies mate so could be that we get lumped together

Saying that I don’t get that many dr increase races since that Tokyo and Watkins Glen races recently

I’m actually quite close to C now 😱
Don't worry too much about DR falling down. It happens sometimes when we're somehow "off" and unlucky in terms of weird race's situations (euphemistically speaking). A good week and the gain will be higher than what was lost.
I'll connect Saturday early morning then. On my alt account I'll race at Bathurst on the G70, hoping to meet some GT Planet fellas. At DF I'll be on my main one in order to get out of the DR's yo-yo zone, with the idea of not taking any prisoners.

My DR and SR went up and down thanks to Daily Race C at the Forest. But some decent racing overall.

As a boy in Australia in the 70's and 80's, you were either a Ford family or a Holden (GM) family, this was the subject of many bloody school yard fights for honor. THis first Sunday of every october, you plonked yourself in front of the TV with dad, fridge full of snacks and beers, and sat there for 6 hours calling the opposition a bunch of cheats or laughing at their misforune as yet another engine blows itself to bits before it all got too professional.

The rot started in the mid 80's, the europeans brought over small capacity turbo charged cars that were quick but, yep, blew up relentlessly, eventually they got the reliability sorted and the Ford Sierra took over. This was followed by a larger engined, AWD GTR that blew everyone into the weeds. From there the euros were banned and the whole thing got way too professional from about 2000 onwards, now they blast around all day without so much as a hiccup, it's sucked the fun out of it because there is just to much reliability.
ngl the main, if not root, of all motorsports issues is reliability and specifically the cars are too reliable.
It's turned functionally all forms of racing into "go as hard as possible 110% of the time" (with the notable exception of NASCAR restrictor plate racing).

If cars failed more often drivers would have to have race craft not just "see checkers or god".
Before the "but costs" crowd comes yes I absolutely understand that components failing lead to higher costs 100% of the time whether that's replacing parts or replacing cars after they're binned from a mechanical failure and of course manufacturers want things to be as bulletproof as possible but I think it's true that motorsport was vastly more interesting when a car could fail than it is today.

Its not just costs, its professionalism.

Ran 3 races tonight, ive decent pace but I am good for one dumb mistake per race that really hurts me. Dropped back to DRB and went from a qualy of p14ish to p5ish. Gained SR in both my DRB rooms so may get promoted again. Gotta cut out the errors though.

QT down to a 16.4, a very low 16 in me if I try, not sure if I can do 15.

Great Daily Race there.

Yeah this is so aggravating, I've breezed through the apex in 3rd instead of 2nd sooo many times due it not shifting down, it's such a tiny window for the timing to carry the right amount of speed

Well this doesn’t happen every day, my early morning races this morning were not filled with A+ drivers, so managed a win at Autopolis and Bathurst!

I’d like to say the first one on race A was a close tight affair, but started on pole and finished 7 secs clear, but hey take them when you can!

The second race on B was a proper clean fight, started 2nd behind a AS driver with a 2.15.1xx so resigned myself to a DR increase perhaps only, hit the wall and got a 1 sec pen on the first lap, 3rd and 4th flew by, then leader lost it spectacularly at the top and rage quit 🤣 and I managed to chase down the two in front who obliged with clean racing!

That’s my week complete 😁 do need to chase down @NevilleNobody Bathurst time though, sneaked ahead again mate! And now @Lightsider74 and @benjoi84 times in A need some chasing down!

Lovely start to the day mate!!!!

I do believe this means you have to focus on race C and get the triple crown!!!!!!! 😎

Looking at previous races at Bathurst, I noticed that the WR is "slower" of ar 0.7-0.9 sec compared the two events we got there last year. My QT was always ar a '14.5ish (~ 1% delay from WR). So, assuming the 1% delay as constant, I think I'll not go lower than a '15.2-'15.5. Is the track significantly colder than before? How can we check that? Almost 1 sec difference at same tyres compound is quite high imho.
Or it's just a matter if time and aliens will go down to '13.3 by the end of the week.🤔

It's funny you should say that as I noticed the exact same thing, was wondering about it last night.

The last time it was there at this combo seems a while ago so has there been a physics change or nerf in that time?

There is also only 27k drivers that have posted a time so far compared to 75k last time round and none of the usual aliens like Damien or wind have posted anything so that needs to be factored in.

Direct Comparison Driver to Driver are:

  • C Birtles with a 2.13.417 previously and a 2.14.079 this time around
  • Mata Junior with a 2.13.721 previously and a 2.14.361 this time
  • N. Dubai with 2.13.491 previously and a 2.14.179 this time
So it does seem like there is a 6-7 tenth gap in pace.

@brockie I've only just watched Tidgney's guide and realised my PB was set using erroneous shifting in the Yaris, so I'm looking forward to correcting that this evening and hopefully shaving off a few more tenths ;)

I’ve convinced myself that there is half a second hiding in these boxes!!!! 😂😂😬😬😬

No racing for me rest of the week as I will painstakingly put this together

I'm not sure whats going on at deep forest, but the driving etiquette there has been absolutely horrendous and my DR and SR are A/S. Multiple times I've been in the lead only for someone 3 positions away to divebomb me on the last corner while I'm mid apex

What’s in the box’s? Please share as we are all excited at your investment 🥳🤠
Just went for the entry level simlab rig GT1evo and the S1 Enduro seat.

My current playseat Trophy is good. But I’m a bit big for it and can’t really dial in my driving position.

That's pretty standard there for me (B/S) but I'm also auto on a controller and if you're stick on a wheel you absolutely can start braking later than I can and still make the corner so sometimes it's a divebomb but sometimes it's taking advantage of the advantages they have

Damn I’m struggling to get any time, I’m doing full 15mins quali and also getting the time together when I can’t complete the lap!

This is when the excitement turned to head scratching, hope you get it done soon!

Missing one of my favourite races, Mt Panorama, as I'm stuck enjoying the sunshine on the Isle of Wight this week....

Did see a couple of beauties at the beach yesterday, by way of compensation 😂

5 solid hours and we have a rig 😬 no wheel or pedals and I reckon tomorrow will be another 4 or 5 dicking around putting them on and finding a comfy position.

Wasn’t too bad, was really fearing the worst! Back feels like it might snap in half from being bent over for so long tho 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

That looks a very sturdy setup - the seat looks very nice indeed! Maybe get some laps in tomorrow 😎
