Have not really played too much lately but I'm laid up for a few days with a torn muscle in my shoulder so decided to give Suzuka a go as I love this track. Didn't do much QT so a 2.01:2 had me starting P3. I opted to start on the medium and hoped to break away as early as possible. It very nearly my undoing as I made a mistake in T1 lap 2 and found myself p4 . Anyway, I got lucky and managed to get to p1 by lap 3 I think (Am uploading the video). Kept my head down and pitted on lap 9 but I was convinced the pole sitter would leapfrog me at pitted exit. This very nearly happened but he got a bit excited going into turn 1 and ran wide. Took a long overdue win by 3 seconds. Will definitely be doing some more later and tomorrow 👌

Any weather in race C?

Leaning race B and I quite like NGP.
No weather unfortunately. I like NGP too but turn 1 is just carnage anytime we have it. Personally I think they should have done that race with the power pack DTM cars, it wouldn't hurt them to let people use them for 1 week even if they do not own that DLC. Gr4 is just boring now. My own opinion of course 👍

I don't mind Group 4 as it is a tight track but should be RWD only. NGP is all about exit speed so that'd make life interesting with RWD.

So a couple of things,

This week is a good learning week as all 3 races teach very different things.

A couple of tips if anyone wants them:

n B use the Mercedes exit aggressively for lap time, in race it will hit your SR doing it every lap.

Race A just short shift and coast the higher gear for stability and pace.

oh my golly miss molly the Firebird at Big Willow is AWESOME! It's the right combination of janky car, janky tires, janky track to have just an amazing amount of fun! Races aren't very close in B/S land because usually the top 2-3 scamper away while someone around 4th drops it in the dirt and creates a time gap that can't be overcome.

That said even close racing for 10th is a blast with these cars.

Easier said than done! Get the line slightly wrong and monumental understeer.
Timing mate, flow the section, the main thing is to give up the entry pace for exit stability, it’s a long run to the fast section after the 2 rights.

Exits are the priority the lines you can adjust to maximise them deep or early.

Last weekend wasn't so enjoyable. As said, I started on the Mc Laren, basically always from pole, and got as a best result a 3rd. Binned many times trying to keep those R8 at bay. When wasn't a self binned race, it was homicide from some "unorthodox" driving. Some nice replays and overtakes in the 650s are finally there btw.
In the Audi I got a QT 4 tenths faster by the 4th lap of practice, so to say how the unfair BoP goes nowadays.
Still, even starting always in 1st row, I was continously killed and brought home only one win on last race. Eventually I almost averaged the DR loss vs gain losing ar 1500pts in something like 22 races. No fuss, that's what the alt account is made for.
Enjoy your racing week, everyone.

What's everyone doing with their tyres on race C? I'm off to try hard/medium see how that works.
Sammy Snake did yesterday a remarkable overcut starting on mediums. It's feasible, cause you avoid traffic especially if you're in a jammed pit lane when switching from hards to mediums at 1st or 2nd lap.

I'll never understand why I am so slow int he Atenza, my laps feel fine but I am like a second a lap faster in the G70. Pace is really hot in race B, only did one race so far but got my QT down to a 206.2 which is reasonably competitive, i'll struggle to beat that.

That’s decent mate, I’m at 2.07.296 on the American alt and having the same issue, I brought an Atenza and livered it up but I wish I’d brought the G70.

Hi everyone. Didn't race the last few weeks due to being on holiday and experiencing hot weather in general. So I missed both hypercar weeks sadly.

But okay, Suzuka is one of my worst tracks so I can learn a lot this week. Set a quali lap in the RCZ of 2:01:5 which isn't extremely quick, but a bit closer to the top than my last time gr 3 at Suzuka. I've become better at turn 1. Next mission is Spoon in which I lack any consistency.

Started a race without a time on my alt account, from P13. Managed to keep it on the road. 2 laps on hards, 8 on mediums. I had 3 incidents in sector 1. Firstly someone just bumped me off from behind. I was a bit slow but come on, bumping me completely off and continue driving is just dirty.

Secondly when I left the pits someone who pitted earlier was on my outside in turn 1 and just turned in like I wasn't there. This was more costly for him than for me. Lastly someone rear-ended me again and spun out because of that. I could continue without harm. Despite all these incidents and my general slowish pace I finished P6. Maybe try some more racing later on to get better used to the track.

I heard somewhere you can't normally overtake in sector 1. Perhaps not but oh boy this doesn't keep them from trying, at least in lower B lobbies.

You can overtake anywhere as long as both people understand how that dance happens and that it’s costing you disproportionate time there.

The reason is Suzuka sector 1 has 2 traits, an aggressive t1 transition to t2 (what trail braking excels at) and then flow where the fastest way through even in traffic is constant average speed.

So always possible to overtake there but not high race IQ
