I don't think I've seen it mentioned here yet, but someone pointed out that the trailer shows Monza at night in one of the shots. Perhaps that will be included in the update (or maybe have the same fate as Deep Forest in the rain).
I think the main problem here is the FPS drop when all cars are packed at the start of the race. Things can get quite tense if the cars have custom liveries, or on certain sections of certain circuits, or depending on the time of day and the weather. If only this update also allowed 30+ cars grid now, that would really suit the multi class racing these cars compete in.
If the PS4 currently can still handle everything in the PS5 version’s single player as far as visuals and stuttering goes, and PD seemingly intends to keep supporting GT7 long-term, I don’t see why they can’t add some more PS5 exclusive functionality to it with larger grids.I think the main problem here is the FPS drop when all cars are packed at the start of the race. Now if they want to bring in multi class racing, cars could start the race at different points of the track depending on their category, just like at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. That could be an answer to this specific issue.
Cars in a category you are not competing in might also have simplified physics.
Yeah, even just LMP1 hybrid is a fairly dramatic pace difference from Hypercar and LMP1 Diesel era (R18/908). Funnily enough, those two eras are extremely close on pace, despite being nearly 20 years apart. You could at least get away with several nerfing LMP1-H, I mean, Alpine’s original Hypercar entry was a modified and detuned LMP1-L, using the Oreca-Rebellion chassis to fill the grid as the “A480” before they had the A424 ready. They’ve also been using GTE, GT2, and older LMGT1 cars in Group 3, and for me, detuning a similar-ish car type is somewhat acceptable to me. Overpowering slower cars past how they were ever expected to perform to meet a faster class just doesn’t sit right with me.Gr.1 still a total mess to BoP.
That's the problem when they just lump in cars into the same class just because they compete in a certain major series throughout the years.
I am still happy though, at least I can finally make an LMH/LMDH custom race grid.
If the GR010 Hybrid is to go by, I expect these new ones to perform worse than the LMP and VGTs. 🤔
As it stands we already have 3 out of 5 of the IMSA endurance calendar, and quite a lot of tracks previously or currently used in WEC, even in just Hypercar era.I've mentioned before that given the endurance racing theme of these Hypercars, perhaps Sebring would be a good addition.
Also to complete the endurance racing trifecta (Daytona, Sebring, Le Mans).
Yep, I remember those videos from Vanilla, that's totally doable. I just think they thought 20 cars on track to sound nice and never answered this question to themselves again. If the PS4 currently can still handle everything in the PS5 version’s single player as far as visuals and stuttering goes, and PD seemingly intends to keep supporting GT7 long-term, I don’t see why they can’t add some more PS5 exclusive functionality to it with larger grids.
As it stands, the PS5 version exclusively offers:
- 4 Player split screen
- Sophy AI
- Power Pack DLC
I don’t see why they couldn’t offer a large grid mode with standard AI and ray tracing deactivated for PS5 users. Surely the system can handle it, especially since GT Sport’s debug mode could run something like 37 cars with minimal performance loss on the PS4.
Yeah, here we go:
If we're using that price disparity between those two (And the Porsche 919, which is also a Le Mans winner with a 3 Million credit price tag), I predict the total cost of getting each one of those 4 cars to be 6 Million Credits at most. Not sure where you got 12 Million as the price increase only seems to apply to Le Mans winners.Only thing giving me a slight scare is the pricing of the cars... The Toyota GR010 was 3 million but on the flip side the TS050 was only 1 million.
I always keep 10 million ringfenced for any expensive cars I really want in updates but this could be 3 million x 4 hypercars = 12 million credits.
It'd be quite the hit on the bottom line. I really hope they either put in a few high paying events for the new cars or the price is closer to 1 million than 3 million per hypercar.
they already do the latter with GrB, Gr2 and Gr1 and slightly for Gr3, it kinda sucks if you want to use a different group of vehicles in the 'main' group though, e.g if someone's favourite in gr2 is the BMW-McLaren F1 GTR longtail , they don't have a hope in hell of being good in a gr2 race if they mix together for a race as an example...but it's still better than separating the groups into visible subdivisions (and then the genesis VGT has LMh/LMDh levels of down force similar to the gr010)I have seen a few people wondering what will happen with the BOP because, has we all know, GR1 is really unbalanced. For that, I only really see two solutions:
- The first one, as stated by a few, will be to create a brand new category, or do a subdivision of the gr1 cars. This would allow each category to have their own BOP, tailored to their car type. (GTP, VGT, Group C, etc). This could be done using the car type feature that we have in game and adding a new car type. The only issue I see with this option is that PD would need to go back to all GR1 cars and “rebrand” each one. Creating new categories would also require the addition of different toggle and/or restriction for lobby races and an update to the single players events… Overall I think this idea is good but would probably ask for a lot of effort to have all of GR1 rework. It still could be an interesting idea for a future game.
- The second option is the one I think would make the most sense. PD could simply readjust the BOP of the GR1 cars to have them competitive inside their own car type (GTP, VGT, Group C, etc..). For example, we could have the Group C cars all BOP to be competitive together but they would be BOP differently then the GTP cars. PD already gives us event in sub category and not the full GR1/GR2 by having specific cars for said event (Group C only races, the TT at CGV in the 2016 super gt cars, etc). This could technically lead to more balance races without having to rework all the groups system.
That being said, I am very happy with this future update and I can’t wait to drive these brand new cars.😁

This car is almost as pretty as the 499P & the very different old class race car Ferrari 330P4!I’m feeling Toyota won’t be outdone. That TR010 might come a knockin’.

Maybe they could do something like:It's just whole idea of Gr.1 is messed up. They can't mix such a different cars like old prototypes, new hypers, and VGT's fanfics. There is at least 4 categories, that GR.1 should separated to.
And with that impressive new content it should be done ASAP.
At least they could separate those cars + GR010 into some idk... GR.1H or GR.LM category. Eventually they can add LMP1's there also.
I always have this handy.I mean, we all know Gallo, Miyazono and Wong's bots cheat, so we might as well cheat back!![]()
Too bad that too many events are with any PP, tire, BHP limit that can't be unlocked, but there's also custom race which I haven't done much because there's both the weeklies & power pack & my five user accounts..!!Waits for Kaz to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by having all of these with a PP level that can only be nerfed under 950PP by using sports hard tyres or something stupid.
Hypercar Parade or Sunday Cup for your spiffy new hypercar? Certainly Sir.

The TS050 is not a Le Mans winner, the Porsche 919 from the exact same year is (As many hurt Toyota fans will tell you, even if it still hurts). While the 908 did win le mans, the car in game isn't the winning car from 2009 as its the 2010 car (Which lost to the Audi R15+).Seems like the only non Le Mans winner above 1 million is the Nissan R92CP. There's a few Le Mans winners at a million as well. The 908 and the TS050.
So yes looking more hopeful than my 12 million prediction.
One of them would be Nurburgring in reverse now playable in Quick Race, Custom Race, Online and Sport mode.I really wonder what other changes will be brought by this update
I saw a comment on twitter saying that there should be more lobby slots, and fair enough, I do think we need to have that (at least 30 in my delusional opinion)
Monza at night/dusk is intriguing, anyone knows the latest time the time progression goes in Monza currently? Are more tracks going to be affected by it? Hopefully
i'd even split the LMP1s into 2 categories: 2010-2012 and 2015-2016, so that there's one Audi and one Toyota in each. it leaves the 2010-2012 LMPs as the smallest category with just 3 cars, but that's better than being BoPed with the Group Cs and VGTs imo.Maybe they could do something like:
Gr.1 (Gen 1) [as in Group C]
Gr.1 (Gen 2) [as in 2011 to 2016 LMP1, also VGT Gr.1]
Gr.1 (Gen 3) [as in LMH, might also make more sense to put Gr.1 VGT cars in this category as their tech intended to be is forward looking]
Alternatively for VGT, Gr.1 (Gen X), but this has the issue of removing these cars from the Gr.1 pool and potentially reducing opponent variety. Some might prefer that for realism/immersion though.
I think 36 would be the move, but I think 30+ lobbies would be a PS5 only thing and that's if they can do it without performance drops and if the servers are even strong enough to handle 30+ car lobbiesI saw a comment on twitter saying that there should be more lobby slots, and fair enough, I do think we need to have that (at least 30 in my delusional opinion)
I don't know, I can see it happening...I sincerely hope there is a modification to revert the Peugeot to the old wingless design - not holding my breath, but how freaking cool would that be?
I would be surprised if it isn't an option in GT Auto - will be one of the first things alot of people will look for on June 11th!I sincerely hope there is a modification to revert the Peugeot to the old wingless design - not holding my breath, but how freaking cool would that be?

Toyota‘s new hypercar looks so much better with horizontal headlights. I‘m really glad they made that change compared to the GR010.I’m feeling Toyota won’t be outdone. That TR010 might come a knockin’.

Days of Play ends the day before the update, so it's not anything update-related.
