Yesterday I tried the stock car and only managed to do a .9. Today I added the rear wing and fitted wider tires, and I was immediately faster. I think a .5 is possible now, or maybe even a .4 with a cleaner lap.🙂View attachment 1555400
A wing like that... on a Camaro Z28.

Buggered up the final sector was hoping for a .5xx. My splits enabled it (581 and 954) but couldn't quite deliver a good final sector. Very happy with my overall pace progression here in this TT. But unlikely I'll return as I feel as If I 'peaked' with those opening 2 sectors.

Have a good rest of the week ladies and gentlemen (ohh and too good as always Adam☺️).

Couldn't get the braking points consistently for a single corner here. Every braking point seemed to be in the middle of 2 markers, or just slightly after a marker, very frustrating.

Never saw the optimum time go below a 27.8 so I guess I just reached my optimum here. Not really a surprise to not be doing too well here, I can't stand Fuji and GT500 cars are quite unpleasant to drive.

No replay this time, didn't think the lap was worth recording.

Camaro at Alsace next, hopefully a bit more up my alley.

Fuji yesterday was a waste of an hour of my life, as was the session earlier today (where I tried going back to the NSX, couldn't get a single lap into the 1:27s, then went back to the GT-R and also couldn't do jack ****), but apparently beer pairing to the rescue, as I dipped down to a 1:27.805 in the GT-R.

Not a .7 like the optimums had continually taunted me, but so close there really was no room for improvement with how horrifically these tend to understeer... especially during good laps.

For a high downforce car, I guess it's fine, as I'm sub 500th, but still - I want to headbutt whoever puts that ****ing bollard on Turn 3.

Quick write-up because I’m too tired and got **** to do tomorrow but I’ve aired my feelings for Fuji before and yeah... S3 seriously needs to be demolished and redesigned. (Hermann Tilke, you suck!) It genuinely is one of the worst motorsports/driving experiences of all time. The rest really isn’t bad at all but S3 makes it two thumbs down every time, the car’s irrelevant. Naturally, I of course absolutely suck there as well. To be P101 when I’m like a B driver in S3 ain’t too bad I guess in the grand scheme of things and I was fine with the lap itself but could do better and sucks to be the first one outside of the top 100 (unless one or two sneak in the last five hours).

I really put way too much effort and time into it, to come up short as well... goddamn, man. In some past combo I’ve done a top 100 in less than a daily workout, missing it here despite going four figure kms long. Rough! :banghead: Had so many laps that were good for one but since I suck so much in the awkward S3 I could never wrap it up. Incredibly frustrating.

Since I was hoping to just do one session I went in the Honda to begin with but late in the final evening (second session) a friend suggested I give the Nissan GT-R a go which I kept going with ’til the end. Alluring top speed on it but unable to hug T3 as quick as the Honda and also kinda sketchy on acceleration which made it more than a handful in S3. Went really close several times, .370 twice but in the end the Honda time I set a little earlier was the one.

Bye Fuji, hope it’ll take an eternity until we meet again. Forgot to record a video before turning off. Oh well, whatever...

I agree that's the case for people playing on flat TV screens, which I believe most of us do. We literally can't see the corner. But I think those on VR have different opinions? Who do we have on VR, @Vule @Dan_Tes ... Anyone else , can't remember who has VR? How is Fuji sector 3 looking through VR?

I do, and I 100% agree with @NAXEHT. Absolutely abysmal sector 😄

Sunday will be a different story... Looks like a proper training run! 😂 (Awesome!)
Psst! 🤫
Nobody should hear that @ElectricNaz was already practicing this combo for some days thanks to some unknown guys being very talented in presuming TTs 😎

With Sports Softs he must have felt like on rails 😆😆

(Thank me later, yellow Alien 😘)

Fuji just needs to be the "no chicane" version, it is way better in that config, far less fiddly and the final few corners are an interesting challenge with multiple lines.

Daytona seems like i tis gonna be a hairy one, said that about the Camaro at Alsace so maybe I am wrong but jeez it looks tough from the outside.

It's not so bad. I managed to get a 2.6% gold time this morning in just over a daily marathon distance - which for me is a pretty easy TT...

It is actually not that bad in VR, it flows in an odd way but there is a flow. I quite like the challenge of balancing the weight transfer and trying to put the power down in fast rear wheel drive cars. There’s a lot going on. Fuji is where I have had some of my best TT results and I think a large part of that is how much easier it is in VR! being in the middle of the track pretty much for two turning points is almost impossible on a flat screen, always felt like just complete guesswork but it makes a lot more sense in VR where you can look where you are going…

EDIT: also hi everyone!
