In spite of not really liking the car much, I felt like there was still some room for improvement at Monza so I went in for more and sure enough...

Fantastic - a solid 121 miles at the Ring tonight and all for nothing. Did not improve on my time at all. ~Low 8:56 theoretical best but either I or the car (which seemed to start handling...entirely different after about the third lap) were not up to the task it seems. Whatever, I'm at least better than I was originally, but still a waste of my night. Would've rather gone after the Mazda some more.

But as a bonus, I'll be going to bed an hour later than I should be, probably won't fall asleep due to being all amped up from 90 minutes straight of racing, and my knees hurt...so at least there's all that.

The next time a Nurburgring (GP track aside) TT shows up will be far too soon.

Hey, guys! I've been away for quite some time. Last year was a bit insane, but this year will hopefully be much better for my ability to get behind the wheel.

I was able to get in a session on the Nordschleife with the Elantra yesterday, and was happy to finally get under 9:00.

Finished work a little early today and put another hour in. I doubt I can improve much on this time, but I was able to top @Gomario JSP on my friends leaderboard, which NEVER happens, so I'm completely satisfied :) (I'm sure it's only because you didn't have enough time to put in on this one :) )

And then there's @Carlos Fandango! You're from another planet with @Dan_Tes and these other guys. Nice job!!

Good result! 1.60% procent of the leader on this annoyingly long combo isn't to shaaby at all!
I kind of did have the time to put in some miles but accepted the way it was
came to the conclusion that i am more of an instant hotlap guy instead of trying to not fail somewhere during 9 minutes of frightning corners for a TT, i love to drive and test cars on the ring, beautiful track!, but combined with the GP part is just to much for me, and..... i don't like the car :)

Very good job buddy!

No idea how you guys are getting gold in the Mazda. I can't get it to stop, turn or accelerate, which is a bit of a problem. I am usually within 2pc of the world record times at RBR in daily races in group 2 through 4 but man, stuck on a mid 36 with this thing, its horrible.
You’re comparing a sports car with virtually no downforce on SM with way more power than the Gr.4 snails on racing tyres. You have to take a completely different and careful approach. Cool it and try again.
Pretty disappointed with these. Top 100 was easily reachable with both.
Was planning to hit the Xiaomi one final time last night, but the Nurburgring put a stop to that.

While I love trials at the Nurburgring, using the 24hr layout in a Gr4 car is just painfully long. Almost 9 minutes for a lap and having to start and re-do the GP layout before you even get to the challenging part is just frustrating.

Optimum would be way under 53, possibly low 52s if I hooked the whole lap together, which is virtually impossible. Certainly mid 52s was on the table. Was on my way to a sub 53 lap when I dropped the left rear tyre onto the grass at Galgenkopf which kicked the car into a slide that bled all my speed away, something which carried into the Dottinger Hohe. Probably lost a whole second just from that.

Definitely a what could have been with this one.

Probably did less than 10 full laps in the Xiaomi, but certainly more than that in partial laps that were invalidated. This is just a boring combo, a track of mostly straights and chicanes in a car that doesn't make any noise, has no gear shifts and weighs more than a cruise liner. Optimum was a 45.9 but there was more time to be found than that.

While it does drive pretty well for an electric car, and especially considering its 2.3 tonnes and has an insane amount of power. This just reinforces that electric cars are not engaging to drive (at least in Gran Turismo). Another one that will sit in the garage until the next time trial or special weekly challenge.

The Mazda at Redbull Ring does not feel all that interesting. Surely there are tracks other than Redbull Ring that can be used, this track has been done to death at this point, at least use a different time of day or weather.
Co-signing every single word in your post, it could just as well had been written by me.

The Xiaomi at Monza was about as exciting as white wallpaper and the Elantra is so incredibly tedious to drive, like most FF cars. Total pain in the arse. And endless grip with no speed. To think that there’s two even gripper compounds, the thing is already on rails. Good point also about how pointless and annoying going through the GP circuit first before you actually begin the TT is, I completely agree. Lacklustre weeks.

Just had the idea to do some testing at Spa in some cars i want to use, beginning with a 550 and 600 tuned Mazda RX-8 that feels rather interesting. Wanted to go on with some Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars. So with the new TT i have something proper to do for the week. :)

Not at home, but wow!
It should be great combo.

I just hope so that my gold times survived - they should, because there was ok gap.
If I'm getting 4M, then buying 917k or F1 GTR

Now that's a way to propper get to know a car!
I haven't driven the GT3 R yet so i am kind of excited!, i did the powerpack GR1 yesterday at Spa and thought this combo
I am running of to buy a lottery ticket!

This is a great combo! I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this one - need to clear some time on my calendar!

Congrats everyone for the times at Monza and the ‘Ring - very pleased to finish inside the top 200 at the latter. Quick run in the Mazda this morning, and pulled a few tenths out (no aids). Looking forward to Spa!!

Great job on top 200! I'm just elated to be in the top 1000 :)

According to the theory, the Porsche should be nearly revved out to 9400:
Would anyone here be willing to compare the difference in lap times shifting as soon as the bar blinks versus revving it out roughly as seen below? It won't matter so much for low gears.

Hi folks,

I've been quiet for the last ten days because I was following the advice: "if you can't say anything nice, just say nothing", and that definitely applied to the Mazda event (and I say that as a lifelong MX-5 driver). :D

Despite Spa being kind of an endboss track for me, I have high hopes for the Porsche, especially because just minutes after the new event was revealed, the delivery guy rang and brought me this:

Clearly the universe is trying to tell me something. 🤣

Thanks dor sharing your replay here! It was very interesting to see your driving style, especially with the more aggressive downshifts. I noticed that in a few corners you go for a v shape rather than staying tighter. It was really amusing to me to see your lines and how you get an incredible flow and speed in the corners.

Congrats on your lap. I checked out your YT and saw that you have some real life videos too.. do you have any real life racing experience?

Kudos again man!
Hi mate,

I tend to just trace the lines of the WR/highest visible ghost for my fastest laps although usually after a few attempts I find my own line if I find I can do it quicker that way (not often). In this trial getting on the power early was key for a lot of corners as the car itself is relatively low on horse power so getting it turned in enough to do that is key. In terms of staying tight that car was also interesting as some corners it was actually beneficial to stay tighter than you would in the real world to get round quicker. A prime example of this would be 'miss-hit-miss' where it seemed to be quicker to clip the first apex as well as the second as that clever front diff drags you round!

I have no racing experience mate just a hobby that I spend too much time and money on :). It is amazing how many skills you can learn on GT7 that translate into the real world, a lot of my grinding here has helped me become much faster when I do track days in my own car!

The results for TT187 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra '25 are over here and those for TT188 at Nürburgring 24h in the Hyundai ELANTRA N TC '24 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards. A reminder that each driver's results for every TT are in the Excel file attached to the latest results post.

Here are some interim statistics for TT189 at Red Bull Ring in the Mazda RX-VISION '15.

At least when I invalidate a lap from hitting the poorly-place bollards, it's not up to 9 minutes until the next one I can ruin.

I go on vacation on Saturday through the following Sunday, so I hope to get a decent time tonight as I will only have a day or two to go back at it during the final ~4 days, along with next week's TT.

I came home and picked up well deserved two golds, the one at RBR is waiting, so I'm in gold row like never before!

And now Spa and RBR - one of the best race tracks for all categories!

I also did a first stint in Belgium, and managed to settle in gold shine...

Here is the lap, direct capture:

GT7 is making me happy like never before.

Generic it is but the Porsche is very nice to drive, takes a while to trust it on corner exits as once the aero really starts working it’s got loads of grip… absolute opposite of that ridiculous Mazda.. we really didn’t get on today and I think I’m done at RBR, it’s completely random and wild loss of traction grating! How Calster got that lap I’ll never know! I suspect I was over driving today and that’ll be it, those sport medium tyres feel more like sport hard (presumably the tyre modelling has changed in the last few months)

Well first remote laps are in!
Fun car to drive but realy have to get used to the exit grip, sometimes it does grip and sometimes im oversteering like crazy
But great car! and looking forward to get to know this combo, probably not going to be the fastest on this combo but im surely going to try 😁🤣

I knew this one was going to be tough, Spa is my favourite track to drive on, but I was never that quick here for some reason, always struggling in the middle sector, and it's the same story again. Pair that with the fact that we are in Gr3, so all the aliens will be fully on this, and top positions are going to be extremely hard to get.

I mean it's an ok first session, I can match the P2 ghost in S1 and S3, but I lose so much time in S2, understeering everywhere, whenever I put the power down I just go wide, and the ghost just pulls 2 more car lenghts. We will see, if I figure out how to gain half a second  ... I'll be happy
