I've done a few of them and didn't have much trouble, just use all the controls and make sure you're never too low. If you're too high you can do a big dip at the last second.
Hitting one checkpoint is my best, being slightly above but then for the second I dipped under it.

I faceplanted hard on the parachuting challenges at the flight school. I think I hit the truck side-on at speed in the moving target one.
Haven't got to trying the parachuting/base jumping challenges. I think they will cause me trouble. I had to chase the bail jumping skydiver for ages because I didn't land particularly close to him.

And land flat on your face

I meant the in air checkpoints, for the last landing you have to land with precision, L1 and R1 I think it is. I always land slap bang in the middle.

Finding this really odd, I thought parachuting was easy. I pretty much landed right next to him on that challenge.

Yea, you can actually still pass if you land flat on your face though  Well it worked for me once anyway.

I tried to make one already about a week ago, trying to copy the GTP logo as good as possible. It worked out pretty well IMO I saved it but when I tried to go back to the emblems I got this message eversince.

EDIT:

I can't skip if I want to attain 100%
I wont be putting myself through that. I will do everything that I can, but I am not concerned with the frustration involved with getting 100%. I play games for fun and getting 100% usually involves finding all hidden collectables or some sort of frustration. But congrats if you achieve that goal.

Yep, DZ landings are a piece of cake. Just use L1 and R1 right before you land to aim precise on the DZ.

I can control the parachute easy enough, it is just timing my arrival at a location relative to my height. Or can you precision land from quite a height?

You can start the precision land at any time but it slows you down obviously. I just roughly aim for the landing spot and then start the precision landing a few hundred feet above. If you're nearing the landing target and still too high just circle round until you lose enough altitude.

It would be nice if I could get my hands on the Platinum trophy. Knowing that the GTA's always require just a tad more than other games.

To aim for the DZ, the way I've always done it succesfully, is to lean forward so you have the DZ right above your head and under your parachute. Use this area as a crosshair. Once you are lower and close to landing you push R1 and L1 for the last couple meters

Ahhh... that could be my problem, I thought that the precision landing was a "land now" command. Will try again tonight.

For me, it really depends on what is involved in getting to level 100 online.

Another random question, throughout the game there are a few people you can either kill or let go, mainly in the strangers and freaks missions. Do these affect the game in any way?

Seems Social Club is over loaded.

I have also found that scores for minigames and races only count in crew leaderboards if you were in the crew at the time - for example, when searching my off-road race times against GTPL, I don't have an entry for race one, but do for the others that I have completed since.

A quick advice to anyone who does the Kifflom/Epsilon missions; save before the last one,
otherwise you might lose $2.1 million, like I did :(

When we do finally get to play GTA Online, and we play as a group, how are we going to communicate with each other? Are we going to open up a private chat and just invite everyone involved?

I hope we'll be able to make groups and enter games as a group.

51 Members Damn... I didnt think it would get that big :O

Anyway, Im broke with 200k with Micheal  Invested 400k with FlyUS.

I have a question based on the second heist (the Merryweather one):
There is nothing you can do that doesn't result in not getting any money, right?

Correct. That's actually what makes the game even better IMO. I wont tell you why but that will come later. Incredible campaign.

Finished the main story last night, loved it. Now to finish up the side missions, though I wish I waited till now for the Lester missions, could of made some good cash. I only had 2 left, still managed to go from $12m to $45m on each character though.

How are the driving physics of the game? From what I've seen they look snappy and uncontrollable. Any opinions?

On first glance, yes, the cars drive a lot different and seem much grippier, but after a while, you sort of get used to the new physics.

In between older games and GTA IV. They are a bit snappy but not so much as the older 3D games, they're very controllable and still have a bit of weight feeling, just not as heavy feeling as they felt in GTA IV.

They're definitely not uncontrollable, there's a lot of grip but heavy vehicles still feel quite heavy, they're fun as hell but not realistic.

Tree'd

Can someone tell me where to pick up the blimp after calling it in? I thought you maybe just needed to be in an open area so I moved to the beach and called, but I never got one there. Would be nice if a blip showed on your radar.
