Damn it! Not again!

I installed the latest patch AND I STILL FREEZE WHEN I LOAD SINGLEPLAYER WHEN CONNECTED TO PSN!

I just want to play this game! Is it that much to ask?! EVERYONE here is able to play with little to no problems, but of course I have all the problems with this game. Rockstar, get your 🤬 together.

Have you tried reinstalling the data and updates?

No. I don't know how to. I shouldn't have to reinstall a patch to get a game to work. That's what patches are for... to make the game work better and resolve issues.

It's possible that there's some corrupted data. In fact, it seems very likely as I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this problem. As for "that's what patches are for", yes and no. Patches are fixes for specific issues. Obviously, the patches you downloaded were written to fix other issues.

Anyway, to delete the game data (and you might as well delete and re-download the patches just to be on the safe side), go to the xmb, game and finally, game data utility. Find the GTA installation data, press triangle and select "delete". Simple. Find the patch data and do the same. Now, boot up the game, let it install and see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, you either have a faulty copy or ps3.

As for whether or not you should "have to" reinstall patches, you don't "have to" do anything, but if it enables you to improve your gaming experience, why not? Welcome to the digital age.

As F1 Fan said, if the problem is your system then no amount of patches from Rockstar will fix it. The patches are improving everyone else's game but yours so that would suggest it's your problem, just be grateful the (probable) fix doesn't cost money! At least it probably doesn't, but corrupted data might mean a dying hard drive. Try the suggested fix and see how you go.

I have a 2-year-old 250GB PS3. I really hope it's not a problem with my system. :scared:

I have a 320GB PS3 that's about the same age, and I had a similar problem until I started the game while offline and then downloaded the patch while actually ingame - have you tried that?

I have an old 40Gb fatty, upgraded with a self installed 250Gb HDD, which still runs flawlessly. *knocking on wood now*

As much as I enjoyed the story of this game, I've realized through my countless troubles it is just not worth the time. R* done a great job with the game itself, but everything surrounding it is pretty 🤬

I was able to finish the story mode last night, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it... offline is pretty useless now, though, so I guess Ill finally try online mode now.

I still have a 80GB fatty (the last model they made) and the only problem it gives me is that the HDD corrupts once a year.

I have a 3-year-old "middleweight" 120GB PS3, I've only had a few texture-loading problems in my time playing this game.

Anyone notice similarities from MCLA at the beach? Tunnels buildings. Gave me a flashback..
Yes very good point. Also speaking of flashbacks, Michaels entire campaign reminds me sooo much of Vice City. When I first drove out of his house and looked at the scenery it was such a similar euphoria to VC in a good way. :)

Franklins is like a mild version of San Andreas. And Trevor reminds me of Saints Row. :)

I felt the same exact thing when I first played as Franklin. I thought I was back in MCLA! EVERYTHING felt like MCLA.
Yes definitely! There are other areas of the map that give me a flashback too. Some around "Southcentral LA" and some up around the Vinewood Hills. So yeah, when I first played GTA I thought the same thing, "MCLA everywhere!"

I don't know if you guys remember the easter egg/screw-up that R* made in the mission of SA where CJ had to rescue Sweet from that motel and the cut scene of the police helicopter saying "This is the Los Angeles Police Department!" or something like that, but I was listening to the radio in GTAV (can't remember which station specifically) and they were talking about being in Los Angeles. Thought it was kind of funny, although I'm not sure if it's supposed to be an easter egg or if it's just something they put in on accident.

The thing that reminded me the most of San Andreas was this dead end street.

Now on the map it doesn't show some kind of roundabout but when you're there you'll see all the recognizable things of your home back in SA.

That's Grove Street from SA. That's why you recognize it. You go there in the GTA5 campaign in the very beginning of the game with Franklin and Lamar. It IS from SA. :sly:

It's not the same one though obviously, completely different surroundings. It's the 'HD universe' version.

I take it, they won't like me strolling in with a Minigun.

You don't even have to be armed to start a fight. Simply pulling up near them in a car and revving your engine will set them off.

On the installation data, it says its 8,000 when I click delete. That's all of my game data! I don't want to lose my game save!

They don't seem to mind if you just walk around carrying a weapon. Which is convenient because I like to find a nice cover spot and start my own rampage. :sly:

Or hitting right on the pad while on foot. No matter what you say, even if it's, "sup brah", they usually will fight you. Although I keep stealing nice cars from them and they don't seem to mind if I leave in their car and come back a minute late and drive around LOL.
