If the Lotus does not win at Laguna Seca there is something rotten in the state of Denmark.

You're right - it's not ideal. To be fair though, it's the first season, and if testing is mainly done by one person, it can make sense to adapt the balance of performance as different drivers and their tunes slowly bring out the best in each car.

It's not so different from reality though. In GT3 racing, the BoP can be adapted after each race and that's something that is regularly used, if cars are showing too much or too little speed, judging from the telemetry data.

Maybe it would have been best to have the 2 extreme tracks (Le Mans and Laguna Seca) at the beginning and then make changes to the specs once.

At least, every car's specs have only been changed once so far.

GTE RACE PREVIEW

Round 4 of the GTE Championship brings us to California and the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on this the second race of the Pacific section of the Championship.
After their 1-2 finish at Fuji the Corvette's get a 10 BHP reduction.
Can Lotus finally get a win at a circuit that suits it?

RACE START PROCEDURE.

1 Pace lap @ 50mph / 80kph. Single file formation.

At the exit of the turn 9, form up double file for the start. ODD numbers on the Left, EVEN on the Right.

Green flag from whenever the leader crosses the line - the whole field can begin racing. 2hr timer begins from there.


CAUTION PROCEDURE

In case of a MULTI-CAR accident (3-4 vehicles upwards) , a caution may be called over mic or by typing "caution" in chat - all drivers must do this before I confirm the caution over mic.

Race back to the next sector, from there the leader slows to 50mph / 80kph and the field slow and form up single file behind. Green flag is single file, from the START/FINISH line.

Sector 1 - Dunlop Bridge - Between turns 3 and 4
Sector 2 - Perimeter Road Bridge - Just before turn 6
Sector 3 - Between turns 8a - 9
Sector 4 - Start/Finish Line

Ok. Really found some time now tweaking the gearing and pushing harder. Got rid of a bit of understeer with going a gear lower in some places.

I think I'm well on pace now. I have no idea yet though how many stops. Seems like the tyres might not sustain a good pace for the whole stint I was planning ...

No I did, but I would have Independent title winners as AM, just for competitive-ness if anything.
