I'm used to anything from 5.0L to 10+ when it comes to V8s :lol:

Not really. A 0.8L is small (and yes there are cars on the road in the UK with that displacement), the V8 in the TVR is monstrous for the size and weight of the car.

Hell, I could say that a 10 lite V8 is tiny if compared to this:

But it all comes down to what it's powering. That said, I am a sucker for a big old V8.

I'm a little surprised this car hasn't got ANY SU votes at all... that's pretty rare.

A certain recently polled Ford almost made it. Just one vote...

Keeping the Griffith's streak going, voting solid Cool. It's the ideal version of Wheeler-era TVR: powerful but still a little understated, or at least as understated as something this small, with this honking V8, could be. And as much as I love the guano-chomping insanity of the later models like the Sagaris, they aren't as roundly lovable as the Griff. You could pick up a date with this* and she'd think it was a sweet convertible. A Sagaris, she'd ask why the exhaust is broken and why someone glued a piece of Perspex to the tail.

* - assuming it worked for long enough.
 
They sound amazing, plus they put many contemporary supercars to shame for a fraction of the price. Also the model that moved TVR away from their hobbyist kit car image (slightly). What stops it being a SZ for me is that the more elegant Chimaera (IMO) existed at the same time, plus the chavvy badge. Still a solid Cool though.

Few months ago, a older but similar V8-powered British roadster didn't received a single negative uncool or SU vote when it got put up for voting.

It's indeed a rarity nowadays for Cool Wall voters to agree in such a large majority either way.

The Chimera was the soft top version of the Cerbera was it not? They look very similar but I don't know if one wasn't a 2+2 speed six.
 
@Liquid The Chimaera had more in common with the Griffith aside from the design. Both being two-seater Rover powered sports cars sharing the same chassis as opposed to the 2+2 TVR powered coupe. Differences between the Chimeara and Cerbera chassis were minor though.

Think of the the Griff and the Chimeara as the Golf and the A3 and the Cerbera as a Passat. ;)
 
It's such a clean and great looking car. Very simple, but yet very beautiful. Too bad it can break down just by looking at it.
