GTP getting slower??

I just got word back from support, it looks like our server is literally melting down with some type of major heating issue. Of course, as luck would have it, a technician might not be able to look at the problem until after Christmas Day. Hopefull we just have a loose heat synch or something, otherwise my hard drives will have to be moved to a completely new server. :( So much for my "vacation".

How helpful would it be if some of us got lives and stopped using GTP on Christmas Day/St. Stephen's Day? Would my not-posting 14 posts a day assist with the melty server?

As long as GTP is online , it's fine for me ;) 👍
Best of luck Jordan 👍

It's fine for me now, but every time we say that, something ends up happening. Hope your luck reverses with these continual server problems. After all of this, you should take a vacation. ;)

And Famine, I don't think it would really matter too much, but maybe those school children need to be taught sometime soon?

GTP Has been extremely slow the last few days. Log file cleanout time or the server melting again?
If we all switched to GTPLIte for a while would that help it any? I try to run in Lite as much as possible but I dont know if it helps the site any.

I don't know if it's related, but I've picked up a Trojan two days running. Yesterday, I was browsing several sites at once, but today, although I did have several browser tabs open, all were on GTP. Pops up within a few minutes of turning my computer on.

But in other news, yes.. the site has gotten extremely slow again.

I just logged to GTPlanet a few minutes ago, and noticed that it´s really slow. But it´s the first time I notice that.

Seems to have sped up today.. I'm guessing Jordan got in and cleaned up that log file. Need to figure out a way to do that automatically. Unfortunately, I know precislely squat about forum programming...

It seems back to normal now. Mabey Jordan got all settled in with the new server since the old one was melting down.

You know what would help this situation?

If people didn't continually, post after post, say "GTP is slow for me also" or "GTP is just fine for me". That does take up valuable space, you know.

Well, actually, I really appreciate these posts because it helps keep me alert to any problems others may have with speed issues.

I get a bit of lag every now and then but I am guessing it might just be my computer? Anyways other then that I cant think of anything else thats wrong with GTP. :D

We did have another unruly log file, just cleared it out and I immediately saw a difference in performance. So, if you were having troubles they should be resolved.
