Mike, the changeability speeds up how quickly the big clouds come in and how quickly the track starts getting wet after it starts raining at 18 minutes. On 10, it got wet at 30 mins. At 8, it got wet at about 35mins but by the 50 minutes mark, it was exactly the same.

Also, if we do have weather changeability on, then all that will happen is the lobby will open, 30 mins later it will be getting wet. Quali will be the biggest bit of strategy as you choose either wets or inters (only if quali starts at about 40 minutes though) and then come the race, the track will be 100% wet. So the only difference for us is the lobby loads up dry, so to get the best quali lap, arrive early, set it in the dry, then chill out as everyone spins in the wet.

I am running my test on changeability 5 at the moment. It has just gone 8 minutes and the big grey cloud has arrived. I feel like a ****ing time travelling weather man. At least my forecast is always spot on, down to the nearest 5 minutes I can be accurate.
That was my worry. So the in-game weather cannot really be set randomly. It will just start rainy if you set rain, then dry out according to changeability. If you start sunny it will move over to rainy according to changeability.

That sucks.

What I propose is we randomize the weather outside of GT5. Random method (PHP script, BK rolls a dice, whatever) for the weather courses. We could set it up to be a 1/3 chance of rain, maybe 1/2 chance at Spa, and then setup the lobby accordingly.

The weather currently in-game does not appear to be random at all, and just goes from sunny to rain or vice versa. Ugh.

That's exactly what I've been experiencing too... why on earth didn't they leave a simple [Random] option too... oh those Japanese (not racism), lol...

On another note: Anyone got lap times they want to share?

And we are racing this weekend right? Extended race??

I wanna race, so I'll be there Saturday. 3:29's in the 787B from 2 weeks ago. Haven't tested in a while.

Guys, check the last post on the previous page. Any changeability between 1 and 5 (5 is the only trusted one but the others are lower) will provide a fine weather cahnge. We encountered weather cahnge after 48 minutes, so we had 48 dry minutes which is good. We have yet to do the 2 hour test since Jamman changed the regs to full wet due to boredom. Sautrday though, the full test will be run. 2 hours. Or you could do it when you open the lobby.

Weather : 0%
Surface water : 0%
Changeability : 5 or lower

Three people think we shouldn't have SSR5. One wasn't there and hates the track. One got rammed by Jake so didn't enjoy that race. One enjoyed a race at the back. These are hardly the people to take the best ideas from. Tom, Jamman, Me, Mike, Bombe and a good few others all think it should stay. Also, should we add the track voting poll to this thread now since the new thread will be up soon?

Remember my highly important recommendations regarding weather.

He rammed me first, and worse. That said, again, I don't decide anything, but I can guarantee you Spa will not be fixed dry, it's known for rain.

La Sarthe times are different for me every time, in the night series I was doing 27's but I'm usually in the 25's.

SSR5 is a proper track. It provided the best and most realistic racing this series has ever had.

Also, would it be possible to implement a new scoring system for Season 5? I was thinking a system where you only get awarded points for a top eight finish and then if two people have equal points, it goes down to highest finishing position and amount of times that was acheivied. It wouldn't be very hard to implement into the spreadsheet and would it much more realistic. Tell me your opinions.

And remember guys, weather changeability needs to be set to 5 OR LOWER

I would rather a proper track... If it was Fuji or ssr5 Fuji would get my vote

Same here.

Besides SSR5 is annoying as ****. If we have to have a street track, then why not Madrid? It's fun, quite long and easier to avoid the unforgiving walls at SSR5. Don't say that there aren't any overtaking spots because there are a few. SSR5 is just a narrow follow the car ahead track, except for turn 1 when you have a slipstream. Madrid is similar to SSR5, only better.

I do love Madrid but it is impossible to overtake due to bends in the track where the overtaking spots are. Turn 1 hairpin, because the hairpin didn't align, they added a chicane before it and now you can't pass there because the speed is too great. The back straight is too tight and then when it opens up, you can't pass because it isn't a straight braking zone, it curves into the right before the left hander meaning you can't pass there either. Next bits are all too tight. The only decent spot is into the epic final chicane and that is nearly impossible too. Final corner is too slow meaning slipstream is not a facotr early enough. And the tyre wear is lower meaning that you don't get passes on worn out tyres like at SSR5, but I don't think Jake was happy about the higher SSR5 tyre wear. He will of been fine with it since he could use his two stop race to pass most of the field without pace. He will still of been fine when using the split time from Jamman to Jake and the split from me to Jamman, we worked out that there was 21 seconds between me and Jake with 7 laps to go. He will still of been fine when there was only 5 laps left and there was still a sizeable gap on the minimap. However when there was only 3 laps reaming and we were on the same pit straight, he would of been abit more worried. And when we spend the entire last lap acing wheel to wheel. My tyres about 5/6 laps fresher. Coming up to the last turn, Jake leads. Around the highway entrance and I got a better run. Jake chooses his side of the track. I choose the same. I pull out of the slipstream and then move to the outside, close my eyes and hold my breath. Next thing, I am starring at the scoreborad and a gap of just two hundredths over one hour. Incredible. That is why we need SSR5 back.

Also, strange that most people hate the Madrid final corner yet it is me that finds that the best corner on the track and the rest is rubbish.

Don't forget, CHANGEABILITY WEATHER OF VALUE 5

I was very happy with the high tire wear, I wasn't happy aboutsome things in that race, but tire wear wasn't one of them.

Too bad you didn't 2 stop golfer, you'd have won fairly easily.

I still think ssr5 is great, I'm more accustomed to lmp's now so hoping to challenge better next season. Toyota or Bentley for me.

Anyone wanna drive the 905 with me this season? 4th at SSR5 and 2nd by .300s at the weeknight finale, this car definitely has what it needs.

2nd to Mav who had to get dirty to beat him I might add.

Drum I'll test it out, maybe I could try your setup.

I liked that car, easy on tires if set up right, but i don't have it. Did some testing today online. Toyota does 3:27's easily in my hands. The Bentley is about a second behind. The cars drive differently now. I can't put it into words, but the tires are behaving differently. They seem to go off at a different rate. I'm not sure.

Jamman, are you up for driving the 905 next season? We can at least drive it at the Spa race next Saturday to test how it copes over a full hour

Yeah obviously I'm considering it. The understeer if the GT one is driving me away from it. And as you say it's a delightful car. I will drive it at Spa :)
