That was my worry. So the in-game weather cannot really be set randomly. It will just start rainy if you set rain, then dry out according to changeability. If you start sunny it will move over to rainy according to changeability.Mike, the changeability speeds up how quickly the big clouds come in and how quickly the track starts getting wet after it starts raining at 18 minutes. On 10, it got wet at 30 mins. At 8, it got wet at about 35mins but by the 50 minutes mark, it was exactly the same.
Also, if we do have weather changeability on, then all that will happen is the lobby will open, 30 mins later it will be getting wet. Quali will be the biggest bit of strategy as you choose either wets or inters (only if quali starts at about 40 minutes though) and then come the race, the track will be 100% wet. So the only difference for us is the lobby loads up dry, so to get the best quali lap, arrive early, set it in the dry, then chill out as everyone spins in the wet.
I am running my test on changeability 5 at the moment. It has just gone 8 minutes and the big grey cloud has arrived. I feel like a ****ing time travelling weather man. At least my forecast is always spot on, down to the nearest 5 minutes I can be accurate.
That sucks.
What I propose is we randomize the weather outside of GT5. Random method (PHP script, BK rolls a dice, whatever) for the weather courses. We could set it up to be a 1/3 chance of rain, maybe 1/2 chance at Spa, and then setup the lobby accordingly.
The weather currently in-game does not appear to be random at all, and just goes from sunny to rain or vice versa. Ugh.
