of course, we would need to decide what cars will be used but besides that, it will balance out the field perfectly if we get it right.
 
Spa is a high speed track so only suits the high speed cars. We need high traction circuits too

Golfer, the last seriously fast driver is LR-VEGASRACER - but I wouldn't count on him in this series as he doesn't have a GTP profile (I think??). AS doesn't want to join again, he's driving Super GTs. Idk about Mav, but he does look in here (and he always vote). He could've won the Night Series if he wanted to, but he turned up in different cars.
 
Sorry but this equal car thing is stupid... we should all set a time at a certain track in the same car and the we decide cars in the order we qualify...

would F1 "well we should all have equal cars" No

Neither would LMP..

Remember audi tand to go for cornering downforce peaguot straight line.. Remember le mans ant davidson being cool?
 
Adam, I think you forget:

F1 is something that exists in real life. It's not about having the best driver at all, it's about the car and it always has been. This series is supposed to be competition for fun where everyone in theory should have a chance to be competitive.

We are not developing the cars ourselves, you know. And we definately don't earn any money :)
 
bombe, I was just using that as an example. It basically means that you don't get three really fast guys in a team against three really slow guys.

And guys, remember my idea about using 5 slower LMPs which are balanced out already

Why is people mentioning 1-make when it's a little adjustment we are discussing atm to make it more equal? I can't see problems with the current regs, but I think there is room for improvement (there always is!).
 
Did some more running @Spa yesterday, got the GTONE down in the 1:59's, but its hard unless you cut the corners. the green 'turf' upsets the traction. People will 'straight line' eua rogue and gain a whole second. That needs to be enforced. The Bentley with no ballast isn't any faster, it might handle better though. The R8 01 is the best handling, in terms of grip. I can't imagine what the Oreca R8 would be like if it were 900kg. That said, I think the thing that separates the Toyota is top speed, the Bentley is within 5kmh mostly but the ballast makes its cornering hampered. The R8 01 is slower on the straight but cornering it blasts past.
 
Is anyone noticing the lack of front end grip since the patch??

I cannot get my audi to turn in anymore and I think my laptimes are generally down

Your problem - you. I've driven the Audi round Spa. It's on rails :yuck:
 
I have mixed so many set ups up its hard to work out how my car stays on the road lol

I don't think the R8 '01 is going to return again. In the hotlap category I believe that the three competitors may can be close to it and sometimes the Bentley and GT-ONE can beat it, but in the long run (1 hr) it will have two advantages:
1. Handles much better
2. It doesn't eat its tyres
It's unbeatable in a 1 hr race, unless the driver is drunk or really, really awful at one track (me @ Daytona :().
 
@BK can't I try and convince myself to use the BMW by slowing the cars that crush it lol

Edit: Anyone who says the Bentley was fastest this season is an idiot. This opinion ironically came from the 2 mediocre GT One's..... stop being so biased

Jake, as drivers, we are all supposed to respect each other. Let's please keep it so, no calling anyone mediocre.

The GT-One was a really good car, but 1 driver raced twice, one never finishes a race, and one has the luck of the Irish. Otherwise ,it would have done a lot better in Season 4. It may have been able to win the title, but it wasn't so much further ahead that it needed ballast. The Audi was, if not neck and neck, always within reach of the GT-One. The Bentley didn't seem too shabby either, seth was the closest I ever got to a Speed 8, and he wasn't slow at all.

If we ultimately decide on ballasting the GT-One, then so be it.

I think it would be nice if for S5, you actually updated the first few posts and made it more easy to see when the races happen and where the results are linked. So, maybe at the top of the post instead of the middle..

I could be the thread manager if none of you guys wan't to put effort in doing that because as much as I would love to race in S5, I don't have anywhere to put my G27 next to my PS3. Yet.

Lol it's a videogame. But still, not the fastest ever...look at the results
 
One thing we could do is have a medals system. We rate drivers on how fast they are.[/SIZE][/B]

What I meant was that in S4 the first 2 or 3 posts were rarely updated. Like anything beyond round 3 wasn't ever linked. The rounds 4-6 standings weren't, nor were the race times.

and it used to say "Next Race: Daytona Road" for the longest time.

I'm just recommending that those type of posts get updated more frequently than in S4.
 
Bermuda, you know what I mean with medals system.

And guys, why are we arguing about wether the GT-ONE, Bentley and Audi R8 '05 should get ballast when we can just drive less desireable LMP cars and we won't be arguing over ballast etc.

Besides, with BKs announced team car list, the Bentey, Audi and GT-ONE are all faster than the other two which means all three of these cars will need ballasting to help the others. Now why are we ballasting over half the field instead of using cars which don't need ballasting because they are already ballasted?
 
what about 3x3 LMP cars (audi+Bentley+GT-one)
2x3 (audi+corvette and tuned 458)
or 3x2 LMS cars???
