It's how fast it gets to the angle you're aiming for, @MisterWeary, so yes, it can make you overturn and scrub the tyres, but it's only accelerating the process. The best suggestions I can give you to get faster are get a wheel (my favourite method :dopey:), get stiffer sticks and run +7 sensitivity, or train yourself to hold less steering angle and run +7 sensitivity (the hardest by far, but should be worth it, especially at $0). I know I use a G27, but I used a controller for... I think 16 years if I count Porsche Challenge.

I was probably worse than you with a controller, although I got decent times with the GT5 X1s.

I feel like I've lost all motivation to play GT6. I don't feel like improving for the academy after getting my 2:14. I've achieved both of my WRS goals: D1 gold and an under 1.000 handicap. the lack of shuffle racing is starting to bore me online since no one hosts spec racing anymore.

Are you thinking you'd like a career in racing? I ask because you have the GT ability to make it through the Academy when you're old enough. Have you done any karting? Any track days? I'm also curious to know what shuffle racing is, I've been out of the GT world for a while and don't recall it when I was playing GT5 online?

I hear you Andrew, I've lost my GT6 mojo too and have been struggling to get any enthusiasm for it over the last couple of months but then I can blame old age. You have to stick with it for another year mate just to keep your eye in for the next GTA when you become eligible for entry.

Take a break for a bit but don't give up all together, you've put too much effort into being one of the best to give it up now

Join a weekly racing league. If you're outpacing them by a good bit, pull over at the start and give them a 5-10 second head start.

What an LM24H this year was....jeez

I vote for occasional random unreliability every year in the leading class - it makes for a great race

Favourite parts probably the C7R vs Ferrari and then Bruno Senna (AMR) vs Bruni/Vilander (Ferrari) in GTE Pro - awesome.

Even LMP2 was brill and I'm not usually a follower of that class.

Yes the night time racing between Corvette and Ferrari was really good. Ferrari kept flashing lights hoping the Corvette would cede his spot, but the Corvette hung on for a long time. Once again Audi and its overall team, drivers, engineers, mechanics made the difference. Toyota is getting closer to a win though.

With the new update, garage settings for the cars are no longer at default settings. All cars (those that I have checked so far) are in fact tuned. You can verify this by taking a car you have not touched and try to take into a room where tuning is prohibited. You cannot take it on the track because the camber settings have now changed for the default setting and the cars have the old setting on them. You must change them to default before you can take the car on the track. This appears to only affect cars you already own. Cars purchased after the update are ok.

This begs the question: Will we need to change the settings to default before entering any non tuning events if we use cars that were purchased prior to the change?

Great spot there - I suspect this will break Fetchy and cause a few headaches however luckily this week isn't a tuning week! So a bit of time for remedial work I guess....

We will need to add some text to the OP's to deal with this. Since we need to allow for people not owning the car for every new week, we'll be resetting all settings to the "new" stock. Every time someone submits a replay, the settings are checked against a reference set of settings and if something doesn't match you are told about it. So if someone submits a replay where they'd forgotten to reset to the new settings, Fetchy would tell them which settings don't match.

Good spot. 👍 Another crazy move from PD. :boggled:

Could be, but I suspect it was an attempt to keep the handling similar. I've seen at least one report that it hasn't worked, though... :irked:

Thanks guys but I can't take the credit. This was found by (and I forgot where the post was) by a person who hosts non tunning rooms. I just wanted to bring it up here as it does impact the non tunning events we sometimes participate in.

Now, if I can only figure out what the signal starts issue is all about!

The signal starts thing isn't that interesting, just makes the track-side lights work:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...nted-changes-in-op.311572/page-9#post-9783149
I've seen that, but not convinced. Unless I am way off base and just cannot figure it out, I cannot seem to get those F1 style starting lights to come on when in an offline situation (I know those are not the lights in question, but the video is clearly online). The description for the signal start lights is clearly under the "Other offline improvements and adjustments"

All the events I have been able to find offline (with the exception of the Vettle chalenges) all have rolling starts so a signal start isn't even applicable.

I remain confused!

EDIT:

Ok, maybe it's this. In multiplayer split screen offline, you get the starting lights for a split second before the start. They go out and the race starts. If that's the case, PD should have stated it was in multiplayer split screen!

Is it really -5 seconds ish per lap slower on the new physics round the 'ring 24h layout!?

...or....

do you now NEED camber in order to run the same times?

After 6 hours of driving I've come across a few differences between version 1.08 & 1.09

Corner speed : seems to be a 5-10% drop in apex speed corners I could take at 100mph easily I can only just take at 90-95mph and that right on the limit.

Braking: finding the same percentage drop of 5-10% in brake zones having to brake 10-20 meters sooner than normal just to slow the car down.

Abs : abs off seems to be alot more difficult now in 1.08 I could use abs of very easily now I just lock up almost straight away and my wheel goes very light.

Traction : no matter what I try I can't beat my 1.08 ghost out if any traction zone seems to just pull away and nothing I can do about it.

Kerbs : kerbs I was using and had no trouble with yesterday I can't use now it just unsettled the car and even flipped it on 3 occasions.

I've done all this with exact setting I used yesterday tc 0 abs 1 all other aids turned off yet today on the TT I'm consistently 0.5 down by time I exit the gp circuit and 3 seconds down by t9 and over 5 down at the line .

Enjoy the current combo way more with the changes - nice subtle correction.

I'm loving the TS030 and that Lexus! They're both great on the new track, which also rocks!!

Really loving the DLC at the moment with the exception of the shocking looking VGT cars which all sound the same.... I mean, nice idea, but bleh - haven't been impressed by any of the recent additions.

On the old car settings all over your garage (if using regular non-adjustable suspension): when you are in a hurry in an online setting it's good to know that it's sufficient to just open the suspension section and exit, no need to click reset. I imagine the same mechanic is at work offline but not confirmed.

Has anyone seen the video of the teenagers who drove their car onto Brands Hatch during a VW cup race. There are 2 videos in the story, one filmed inside the kids car as they pull onto the track, and another of the announcers, being surprised to see a street car on the track.

Yeah I've seen it my friend was at the track that day said it was best thing he saw all day a polo pottering around the track mid race

I've read about it, but I haven't watched it, because he wants the attention. I read something, either from him or somebody in a comment on the article I read, that he shouldn't be able to lose his licence because it happened on private property. That should be irrelevant because he did so without permission, so hopefully they'll still take it off of him. Besides that, there's trespassing, endangerment of life, and probably other things I haven't considered, so hopefully he won't be driving for a few years anyway... :mischievous:

I'm biased of course, but Britain has *the* most A-Grade morons.

I am also scientifically unable to click links to the Daily Mail, because it's the Daily Mail. I did hear about this earlier in the week though. Kent operates the death penalty, right? This behaviour is sacrilege towards the hallowed ground we qualified on for WRS GT6!!

:) :D ;)

It's been stated that Monza is staying on Twitter the past few mins, but that Monza will have to 'up its game' or something of that ilk....

It's gotta stay...the whole Spa/Monza part of the season is by far the best part IMHO....

F1 isn't F1 without Spa and Monza. There aren't many tracks where the track/event is bigger than the cars/drivers. Monza, Spa and Monaco are the big three in that regard.

Out of curiosity, what exactly is your definition of spec racing?
All the same cars, same tune? Same car tuned to certain HP/weight?
