    • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline
    • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline
    • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section
    • Identified replays will be checked by your fellow participants to be sure you meet the event regulations

    • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
    • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible

    Steward's Comments:

Combining @Mires and @DGiant2000's suggestions, we're running the classic 512 BB at a really fun version of Lago Maggiore. Throwing back to the good old Prologue days, our theme of the week centers (pun-intended) around the great color selection for this car. It's greatly recommended to go with one of the original colors this week, but it's not required ;). Have fun with this all Italian combo!

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
    • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
    • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
    • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
    • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
    • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
    • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
    • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If you’re still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if you’re still undecided, run the lap again.

    Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on Skype or via other private IM service.):
    • Total Lap Time
    • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime
    • If you choose to Share your Best-Lap Replay via GT Sport before the deadline, expect the full lap time to be public, regardless of whether you've only shared with Friends or Public.
The following information can be discussed in this thread :
    • The first 1 sectors: T1 times
    • Any settings discussion

    Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 12 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
    • Please submit your FULL LAP TIME in the following format on a single line:
      X:XX.XXX
      (Example-) 1:10.100
    • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
    • For those of you who were used to submitting replays on GT6, we no longer have the ability to export the files.
    • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
    • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
    • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
    • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
    • The deadline is Monday, February 19th 2018 11:59pm GMT
    • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site
    Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

    Replay Checking:
    • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via GT Sport Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
    • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
    • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification

That's a crappy Prologue TV pic from the original thread. It was my 3rd combo as TT steward.

Surely it's possible to take the hi-speed right in sector 2 (the one leading to hair pin) flat out, I just don't know how many times I can endure crashing while trying to figure it out.

So is the key to this one to just drive the car in reverse? It spends most of its time trying to achieve this orientation so I'm not sure if I should be trying to fight that or not.

Stephen if you figure it out let me know, I'm starting to doubt that I will ever see a 27.xxx T1 that is not followed by a crash. :boggled: Can't believe Ferrari didn't include a rear spoiler on this car :odd:

Ran a few more laps and it definitely can be done. The key, as you've obviously figured out, is to first run a really crummy t1 thereby removing any possibility of setting a new PB for the lap.

A lot of me wonders if you could even get this car to behave with all the custom parts in the world, like, with all the tuning hours could you make the front wheels actually govern the direction of travel in this vehicle?

Edit - Also Fetchy seems to have picked up PASM's example scoring of 1:10.100 and put it on the board

That's the challenge and charm, embrace it, don't fight it.

There will be plenty of high grip race car weeks. I personally love these combos.

And I deleted the random splits.

Lol I never asked for high grip, I just ask the car goes roughly where I ask it to. The Toyota SF-R round was great, it had limited grip, could over and understeer but you could really work the car and control those aspects and it gave you confidence to push it. The McLaren was the same, just at much higher speeds.
I like those neutral cars that can do a bit of everything in a controlled way, the understeers until it power oversteers has always annoyed the heck out of me, you've got surplus rear grip until the traction phase where rear grip is critical and then suddenly you've got none when you press the throttle. A lot of that is probably down to stock LSD's in GT locking on throttle, causing the back end to break out when it really should grip up and go based on the understeer bias.
This car though, it oversteers until it power oversteers even more! The steering wheel seems to be a secondary measure at choosing where the car goes. Silly 70's engineers, at it again with their wacky design ideas.

Yeah, you just have to minimize wheel input and do a lot of right foot steering. Nature of the 512 BB.

A little bit over a tenth up at the line. There might be another tenth left out there but it's too early to come to any conclusions. Brake balance at +2.

I predict a difficult week ahead of me! I'll set a time but doubt I'll put over 800mi on the clock like the last one!
Minimum target is sub 28s, personal is sub 27.4. I may update it after I actually drive the thing, though.

You guys need to remember when this car was built, you can’t drive it like a modern sports car! Put on your best tom selleck moustache, some big sunglasses and a Hawaiian shirt and enjoy the ride
