Viewing your Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual split times, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules.

Thread rules:
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):
  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime
The following information can be discussed in this thread :
  • The first 2 splits: T1 & T2 times
  • Any settings discussion

Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 84 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • See this screenshot as an example on how to submit:

Why Use GMT?:

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

oooo...a tuning week! I've always done quite well in tuning weeks so am looking forward to this....though it's tempered slightly by the fact that I always struggle with Tuscans but hoping the touring car is easier to handle than the road versions. And I do enjoy driving Tokyo, even though I'm not very good with this track. All in all should be a fun week....unless the Tuscan is it's usual handfull, in which case it could be a frustrating week filled with lots of 🤬

Well, my positivity and enthusiasm have disappeared in the space of 27 laps! 3 laps clean out of all of those...the only positive I can find is that at least the car isn't like a normal Tuscan but, beyond that, the only fun I had was laughing at my pitiful attempts to traverse the lap and set a remotely acceptable lap time which I failed on both counts. Was going to just skip posting my splits and submitting a lap due to the sheer embarassment I feel with my times but it wouldn't be fair to just not submit on account of me sucking at this.

Don't even know where to begin with tuning.the car actually feels fine straight out of the box but obviously there will be more in it with a tune. Possibly I'd just want to tune gears so that third is longer or something....

I just set my tranny the usual way:
Final gear full right
Top speed full left
1st gear full left
5th gear full right
Then space 2nd thru 4th evenly.
Then set final gear to hit redline at end of longest straight.
And I'm shifting at 8000rpm.

Thabks, given that a go and played around with suspension a bit. First splits

We appear to have very different definitions of what fine is  Or maybe that is the difference between a controller and a wheel because it felt far from fine for me! Handling-wise, it is stable when stock but has way too much understeer.....the first couple of laps, I couldn't even get past the kink on the main straight without hitting the wall! Removing the camber helps some with better turn-in but I don't know how camber works in the game these days as I'm not sure if it's fixed or not

I wasn't planning to do one this week, because I hate the track especially in reverse, but gave it a shot.

Hey guys :) Anyone know how to tune stuff in GT6?

Anyway, I always liked this track.... let's see if I can manage to finish a week this time.

Nice to see you back Chris.

I have yet to run it, but for these type cars this is a good starting point in GT6. It is called the Stiggy tune.

Front ride height slightly higher than rear or equal to rear.

min springs

1 1
1 1
7 7
No Camber

Toe according to your preference

Tranny trick and set final.

Lots of people then go with max front aero and then as little rear aero as you can get away with.

Edit, I had LSD in there, but you can't tune that in this combo.

Well, after my little rant the other day, I have to say, once you manage to dial the serious understeer out of the car, it is an enjoyable combo even if I am not very good with Tokyo Reverse having rarely run it in the past. Still ruining lap after lap with contact with walls but that is a combination of my lack of concentration and trying to push the limits...am unlikely to run with manual or triggers this week as I am having a hard enough time just staying away from walls as it is! Not sure how much more time I will be able to find, though my best lap is half a second off my overall ultimate pace...a couple of areas I am struggling to work out the best way round but, overall, I'm relatively happy with things (what a difference a day makes lol)

Turned off the ABS for a little try, the feedback from the brakes to the controller was way better, managed to follow my previous best lap ghost all the way round and made a way better job of the final turn.
Time to go to work, I am looking forward to more of this one tonight.

Never have liked this track in reverse, especially when you can't change the time of day.

So far best is 39.6 and 1:20.5 without glancing a wall (or 12)

Has anyone else tried submitting a lap for this event? I tried to, just to make sure everything is fine and I got this message from Fetchy:

"Submission for week 84 is REJECTED!

Errors:
You used the wrong car
You ran at the wrong track
TireFront setting is invalid
TireRear setting is invalid
Exhaust setting is invalid"

I definitely have the right car, the right track, the right tyres and, as far as I am aware, the exhaust can't be changed. @Gravitron Could you please have a word with Fetchy?
