Playing around with other setups and I've got my race averages down to 2:02s or 2:03s depending on the setup. I can't decide whether to play it safe with more understeer (but more prone to off track mistakes and attacking the kerbs trying to turn in) or more turn in but having to balance the car a bit.
Having spent all last week using a more balanced setup, I find using an understeer prone setup easier to make mistakes. Does anyone have any suggestions on which way to go in endurance racing? Am I better with the understeer setup to help make it easier when I get tired and/or lose focus? Or is it better having a setup I'm more comfortable in?
I'm actually faster with the understeering setup, mostly because I'm getting on the power and taking smoother lines. But if I just miss my marks a little and try to push a little too much, I find it much much easier to run wide or make mistakes.
The understeer setup is also horrendous in the final corner but great in the first corner. I could practice more with the understeer setup but my initial impressions are that I'm going to make a lot more mistakes with it.
