Went to NYC last week for the New York International Auto Show. Decided to look up a hobby store whilst I was in the area and found the Red Caboose. Interesting place, but it was a little...tight.

Picked up these two Muscle Machines Takata Dome NSXs. (Sorry about the photo, got back last night)

Didn't think I'd ever hear 'Muscle Machines' and 'Takata Dome NSX' in the same sentence.

There's a series of Japanese tuners and race cars by the brand. Brands that used to only do domestic cars picked up on the fact toy cars replicating Japanese cars are extremely popular here. Good job, Mattel.

I think a few people at Muscle Machines were also playing Gran Turismo 4 at the time this specific car and livery was decided on. :D

I'm a bit surprised you ordered at CK seeing where you live @Venom800tt . Out of curiosity, how long did the shipping take?

Sorry to drag this thread off on a tangent, but I picked up these 2 model planes in Sydney. I paid $150 for the pair, and that's very expensive considering how small they are! Worth it though.:D

There not be many plane fans around this thread but please do keep sharing 👍 They look very nice! You were collecting 1:400 right?

Shipping takes about a week and a half usually. CK often has stuff many US retailers don't have, or don't get till much later. Plus they have good prices even when you factor in more expensive shipping.

CK has crazy cheap deals from time to time. I bought both AA MC12 and its GT1 variant from them for half price.(half of American pricing that is. Their discount price was more than 50% off from the normal European prices)

No I collect 1:500. I did have a few 1:400 but prices got out of control and I didn't see the point in collecting another scale. I sold them all off.

I just compared the two 2019 liveries.... they've got their ups and downs for both in roughly equal amounts, making it challenging to choose one over the other.

@Venom800tt?

I prefer the first one, and already ordered the first one and this final version is a no go for me.

And I have to save some room in my budget for the upcoming BBR diecast FXXK Evo and that thing is ultra expensive.

I'll take some more photos with better lighting when I get the chance.

It's the most expensive model car I've ever bought, but that stands for nothing when I see it sitting on my table. The money is irrelevant because this car means soo much to me as a Walkinshaw fan. I saw this exact car win it's one and only race in poor conditions at Albert Park, and this is a reminder of that. I didn't rate Scott Pye as a driver until then. The #2 also has a heap of significance, as Tander and Skaife had it for a number of years at HRT. It's going to stay in my collection for a long time.

A 1:18 model I've been waiting for.
UAZ 469 by SSM (Start Scale Models).

I have three 469's in 1:43, but that would be a nice addition, too (would look good with my 1:18 R32 GT-R's :D).
But the price is kinda big for its quality. The tent roof is detachable and the windshield can be put down, but there are no opening doors or hood - and they want 4,950 rub (~$76) for this. Should wait for a discont...

Hey pastries,

With no P1 GTR in sight by AR, the Huayra Roadster is now next in line on the radar. However, LCD has come around and is offering the same model of similar quality at what is rumoured to be a drastically lower price point. If you had to choose one over the other (colour aside), which would it be:

Notable differences is the detachable wheels via a single-locking nut, use of screws in the framework in the engine bay.
