Have you guys ever dealt with buying a race car model from the official site of the manufacturer and receiving the "wrong" model? But just number wise. It seems silly to complain

It's not. A bit of history: I started my die cast collection ages ago with the idea of going after Le Mans winners as a theme (that changed midway through said collection, but that's another story). I ordered the #7 Bentley Speed 8 that won in 2003, but received the #8 instead, which finished second. Now, had I been collecting Le Mans runner ups that would have been fine, but I wasn't and I returned the model, letting the seller know he made a mistake. Through a bit of back and forth I ended up getting the right one eventually. It might be the same car aside from the number, but its history is not the same, and in the long run it won't be worth the same should you decide to sell it.

That is a good explanation. I felt the same way about some of my other race car diecast models, although I ordered RC F GT3 #14 because I was able to get behind the rope and see it up close in person at Lime Rock Park. The manager from my previous job got me a VIP pass for the Lexus experience.

Couple new additions:

NZG 1/18 Lohr AutoTransporter for my previously bought NZG 1/18 Benz Actros and a Greenlight 1/43 Chevrolet Chevelle SS a friend gave me

*EDIT*
Better pic of the trailer, this time with some cars on it...

*EDIT X2*
Couple more pics lol:

I’ve had this one for a while now. This is a really entertaining model car because of the fact that it has a laundry list of neat working features and very nice detailing.

It’s Sunstar’s 1/12 1953 Volkswagen Cabriolet:

A limited edition certificate and a really neat booklet of the VW Beetle’s history is included.

The only flaw I’ve gotten with this model is a missing air cleaner. But otherwise a nicely plumbed and wired replica of the little air-cooled engine:

And the best trick of ‘em all. The model comes with a set of magnetically charged hubcaps as well as a tool set which includes a jack and a lug wrench in which you can use to change the tires by unscrewing the five scale correct lug nuts to reveal the brake drum:

Wouldn’t want one of those lug nuts dropping to the floor. :ill:

:P

Do you have any pics of the fabric roof fully deployed or the gear lever in different gears? Sorry if I sound pesky, but I’m a bit curious as to how they will look, because I’ve never seen a model car with so many functional details. 👍

Those lug nuts are about 1.5mm in diameter .

I could try getting a photo of the roof fully closed but it’s a little pesky on my specific model. The roof mechanism is scale correct Which means added delicacy. The roof on the model tends to not unfold far enough at least to reach the mounting holes over the windshield frame. I need to unfold it absolutely perfectly (which is more challenging than you think) in order to fully latch the roof because there are quite a few a joints.
Besides that, it’s still a very fun feature for the model.

Also, the shifter is just a back and forth motion. Nothing crazy. But I could take a pic of that too.

Oh, then nevermind my questions. I’d hate to see you break something so delicate simply due to some silly requests made by me.

Excellent model! 👍

Just received these for Christmas. My wife purchased them from a woman whose husband died before he could complete them.

Have not done a model since I was a wee fellow about 50 years ago. What recommendation for glue if needed please (plus any other helpful hints welcome)?

Got these today Rare Colin Mc Rae Subaru Monte Carlo Scale 1/18

Evo VII scale 1/32

I remember they used to sell those 1/32 WRC cars in stores when I was a kid, there were heaps of them but branded as Saico. For awhile they were a go-to for family to buy me as gifts, so I ended up with like, three Lancers and Imprezas, none of which are perfectly kept 'cos even though I was never rough with toys as a kid... I was still a kid. :P But I still have the least battered ones on display, the 206 is in best condition. Now they all just gather dust.

There was also a Citroen Xsara, but I never got one. It's a shame because it would go well with the Majorette Xsara.

My 2019 list:

Toyota%2BSupra%2BORIDO%2Bbg_2.jpg

Ignition 1/18 MAX ORIDO Toyota Supra. I'm proud of narrowing down to just 1 car this year :D

I'm drooling over that RS200. Is that an IXO 1:43?

:D It's an HPI, I got it for $60 a few years ago. If Ebay now is anything to go by, I got one hell of a deal. By the way, those reflections in your pictures are amazing, the first one is definitely more convincing though as the frontal shot needed to be lower. How did you take them?

newcamera.jpg

Also got a new camera, so now when I post here once or thrice a year it will at least look good. While I'm here I'll post all that I've bought this year, even if it's not very much. Because the number is small, I can write something about each one because people are most definitely interested in my bland anecdotes.

newcamera3.jpg

Kyosho Lotus Europa Special - I couldn't decide whether to buy in black or white, though availability decided that for me. That's alright, I didn't want my deeply repressed weeb to come out anyway.
Spark Porsche 919 #17 Le Mans 2015 - I've wanted this for awhile, and while I was in Australia in May for what will probably be the best concert I'll ever go to I bought this in a modelshop.
Spark Alpine A470 #36 Le Mans 2018 - In the yearly excitement of Le Mans I was caught off guard. I had to go to work for a night shift (which is rare, but of course it clashed with Le Mans), so I knew I wouldn't get to watch the last 5 hours of the race. I bought this to cheer myself up as the Alpine sat 2nd in class for the whole time I watched. Then I left for work, and within five minutes it took the lead. So I guess I'm cursed?

I know full well that I'm cursed, I'm just in denial.

Got a diecast model that isn't a car for once...

^ Actually saw that specific plane in person, and have gotten to see a different tail number (N608UX) up close... REALLY close...
I have several model aircraft, but only one in 1:200. It's this one; which I've kept in the box for a while.
Ansett ANA 727-77 Jc Wings 2.jpg

(Sorry for the terrible photo, I took it a few years ago)
(The perks of working for an airline)
Tell me more!

I have only a handful of diecast planes, but I have quite a few kits I built years ago. I need to get back into building kits once I get an airbrush and other supplies.
But yeah, I work as a mechanic for a regional airline that flies a mixed fleet of Embraer ERJ-145's and ERJ-175's. Get to see all sorts of neat stuff taking off and landing due to how close our hangar is to the runways.
