Well I lost an eBay auction today. Though I'm happy I lost it actually, but it'd of made a nice addition to my collection.. :nervous:

It was a blue Lamborghini Diablo SV by Autoart. The person selling it was from saskatchewan in canada, and I'm from alberta, but he wanted $15.00 US for shipping and said the shipping doesn't change even if I'm from alberta, and I would've had to pay 7% GST (sales tax) on it too since I'm in canada, and he also wanted $4.00 extra if I was to use paypal (and I of course ONLY use Paypal), and he had the auction in GBP instead of canadian dollars (dont understand why, why did he want me to use the exchange rate if he's in sasketchewan).

Anyway, some rich sob outbid me at 35.00 quid (i had 33 max), and I calculated it, and he'd of had to pay around ~$122cad overall with shipping ($36 US overseas). I feel sorry for him really cause it was a total ripoff.

Oh well, I think I might just settle for a Maisto Diablo SV (in black preferrably). It's only about $30 US including shipping off their official online shop.

After some thinking, I reached the conclusion that eBay is just absolutely insane. Some of the models go for insane prices. I should get one of those Makkinen Imprezas and Burns Imprezas (the WRC ones) from the local shop in Banff (a local resort) for like $80cad each, then sell them on ebay for $120+ cad each. 💡

Or I could just keep them I guess. :sly:

I have to admit the prices you guys pay outside of the US seems pretty insane (if I'm reading the conversions right) but the US prices I see are insane to me too.

For me it's cheaper, less of a headache, and I don't really have to worry about space if I only collect Vipers because after all that's my ultimate car. The models you guys are getting are really really nice don't get me wrong but unfortunately next to a Viper (even a Bburago or Maisto) they will never be as nice. :guilty:

the lines, its all about the Vipers lines.

Well I'm proud to be the owner of a red Viper RT/10 and a blue with white stripes Viper GTS, both by Bburago. :sly:

They also happen to sit nice next to my red Viper SRT-10 by H/W and my blue with white stripes Shelby Cobra 427. 👍

I don't see myself ever spending lotta cash on those Viper GTSR's by Autoart though. Maybe one day grab one of those Viper GT2 (white with blue stripes) by Maisto or a Viper SRT-10 Coupe in blue by Hot Wheels if they make one.

Models ain't cheap that's for sure. At the regular hobby shops here in town, the Autoart cars vary from $89.99cad to $120cad (usually most are only $90 though), so that's about $80 or so USD.

It's much cheaper online, but if I buy from Canada, I have to pay 7% GST, and shipping from US is usually about $15 to $20. Shipping from scale18.com though is only $8.50 canadian, so that's much more reasonable. I may get an Audi R8 by Maisto from them one day, and they also had that deal on Porsche 996 Carrera's by autoart. 💡

I must prioritize my purchases though. Right now I'm looking at GT cars by Maisto like the CLK-GTR, 911 GT1, the R8 and such.

Prices all depend on manufacturer and rarity. Stuff like the 22B are really sought after by die cast fans and everyone wanting one just drives the price up. You have to be lucky to get the rare ones these days.

 I'd sell you my duplicate but it's a project car in progress not due to be completed untill the year 3000. :dopey:

Ah man, they better make a model of the SRT-10 Coupe!

It'll surprise me if they don't. I would hope they do in blue with those trademark white stripes. I need to get a silver AA Viper SRT cabrio, haven't heard any plans about the coupe yet. (Only rumour for the Competition Coupe I showed you about in PM Freak. If they even happen!)

Yeah, that would kick ass unfortunately just like the AA red w/ white stripes Viper GTS-R I probably won't be able to get the Comp coupe. :irked:

Damn it! yes that's it, :sigh: the one I can't have at the moment. :grumpy:

Yeah I need that one too, I bet you get it before me. :)

Apparently the latest on the AA Competition Coupe is that it will be limited to 3000 units and come with a COA.

also apparently, they will be available in red, BLACK!!!!!! and white with blue stripes.

Aww... Son of a Biznatch! Stop you're killing me! :grumpy: Now I gotta get it.

Oh, and there's nothing on eGay for Vipers I don't have or want. :grumpy:

edit: :odd: WTF ?

Butt Butt... it's a racing Viper. :odd:

ROFL, he put chrome rims on a GT2 Viper, what a doink! What's worse is that those rims don't even look good.

Surprise surprise, no bids [/sarcasm] :yuck:
Damn German, ruined a nice model!

I always thought people under 16-17 collected the kind of cars with chromes like DUB CITY or anything like that. Are there really more mature people who collect them?
Oh, and that Viper is plain ugly :(

Again, has anyone got a clue about the Supra by Kyosho?

(Aeromotive = GT4Mania)

I've had a look around and I haven't seen a Supra by kyosho. Probably looking in the wrong places.

I would expect a Viper Coupe to come from Maisto very soon. Has Hot Wheels even made any Vipers?

BTW, there's news that AA will be producing the Viper Coupes in blue with white stripes, but there's no release expected to said soon.

Hot Wheels has made models of the concept GTS-R's, a model that VipFreak has and I don't! I just can't find them.

Where is that news from, because I know that they might be making Viper Competition Coupes limited to 3000 units, in 3 different colour options.

Doh, should have known that. I have 2.
Red one and blue one.

I read the news at a Corvette site, but I'll go and search for it again.

D*mn, if I known there was an auction, I would have tried to get in on it. I'm trying to get my bud one of those since he lost the real deal.:ouch:
