Factor in long-term things. What will you do with the 2 versus the 6? Will you have sufficient space? If you in 15 years had to give up one of these scales, which one would you rather let go of first? Are you sure you're not just caught up in a fad right now? Will I have time to build these kits, and will I honestly give a turd to do so down the road? If I had both and lost interest in 1/18s AND 1/24 kits because something else cooler came into my life and keep me distracted from these cars, which one would I regret buying less?

Make up more scenarios for yourself that apply to you and your tendencies. And don't sit on the fence with your answers either.

Good advice. Especially when it comes to later life. I still have all the models I collected but a few 1/24 sit in boxes as they don't "fit".
The rest take up a fair bit of space...

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new model (1:18) or a few (1:43). I've never had a resin model and I was wondering how they age? I'm also contemplating putting the Scoob up for sale, since I never would have expected to make money off of it (hasn't once been taken out of the box).

I wouldn't mind a Nismo 400R...

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new model (1:18) or a few (1:43). I've never had a resin model and I was wondering how they age? I'm also contemplating putting the Scoob up for sale, since I never would have expected to make money off of it (hasn't once been taken out of the box).

Resin's still fairly new I would think unlike diecast. With diecast, we have stories of it splashing up nasty blemishes that no one knows about until years down the road. I haven't heard anything yet about resins other than the fact the doors and bonnets don't open.

But I'd probably say a good place to find how resin ages over time is to look at resin figurines and see how they've come along.

Resins ain't THAT new, as garage built 1/43 resins have been around since at least the early 1990's.
Mass produced resins like GT Spirits, Sparks, and Ottos on the other hand are fairly new, as before those brands most resins were from the likes of BBR and MR and usually in 1/43. I personally haven't heard of old BBR's having any issues, as they probably use a rather stable resin. And like diecast models, they should be kept away from heat and humidity because that will ruin paint, diecast or resin.

Hello people of the scale model world, I am looking for some advice. I am seriously considering purchasing a 1:18 scale model of a Lotus exige, and would like to know the best quality (for reasonable prices) seller of such a product. So far I have looked at AutoArt, and they seem pretty good, but are they good quality?

Yeah they're fine. Generally you can't go wrong with Autoart.

I say generally because I personally find Autoart models to be a bit on the boring side despite their high-quality standards.

@Venom800tt, GT40 Mk1 or Mk3? Nose appears longer than I thought it was, which if I remember, the "boot" in the Mk3 was longer. Maybe I'm just rambling...

Been meaning to look up an AutoART Corvette C7.R for the last few weeks. Found one on Amazon for a decent price, just need to convince myself to pull the trigger.
That, and I have a few 1:18s around that I've been meaning to post. Have to remind myself to take some snaps.

It is a MK I.

And AUTOart's quality control can be hit or miss. Also there can be rather large differences in detail level.

Pre2015 AA and post2015 AA are totally different, in terms of build quality of the engine, interior and of course the material of the body shell.

It's been quite a long time from my last post, I missed all of you

My brand new 155 V6 from AutoArt, 100€ was an absolute bargain!
Plus I just can't get enough Lancia LC2 in my life.

I'm currently focusing on a huge diorama project, just ordered some accessories and figurines, mostly from truescale.
It will include a paddock, a garage, and a starting grid scene (separate shelves, my room is not so big) but first...I need to sell some old stuff to make room for new ones and make some money too.

Here's a pretty cool Nannini figure! Not 100% accurate for my 155 but it will do the job.

Just arrived!

This is an absolutely beautiful rendition of the Koenig-Specials Countach by GT Spirit although many may not care for this version of the Countach with it's color matched wheels and NACA ducts. While I would have been more excited if they had modeled the white version of the car I am still happy that I bought this one.

Find any scrap material(s) that loosely have shapes similar to its components, modify whatever you ned to do, stick them together and colour it.

Any scrap material I said. Do consider shelf life thouhh. Avoid using dry biscuits.
