Too bad for those inperfections, the paint doesn't look that good...maybe triyng with some tamiya polish?Another update on the RX-7. Ayyyyy
Didn't think I was going to go with white as the choice of colour, but I'm sad to report that because I'm using a light colour, the surface imperfections are bright as day, but seeing as how delayed this project is, I'm going to live with it and/or cover it up somehow.
That totally doesn't look like white for some reason. Probably spent an hour getting the paint to finally work on the airbrush... god I hate setting up on that thing.
Wheels as is: gloss grey...
wheels now: gun metal.

BTW Really looking forward for this project, maybe you'll manage to save it and make a great job!
I want to customize some models too but that would be like the first time using an airbrush and I bet I'll need lots of practice, I'm saving some old kits/diecast for that purpose before start doing something more interesting.
I want to get a Paasche model h, i've seen quite a lot of good reviews for this model, the finish using enamel paints is unbelievable and it's cheaper than others.
And a little compressor by Sparmax...maybe the TC610H model
Anyway...this pit crew looks rather interesting...but it's 1:20, how will it fit a 1:18 diorama? The only mechanic crews are by Minichamps and TSM but all branded, and the costs is too high for customizing IMO.
BONUS!
My first attempt recreating the shape of the Grand Valley with plywood, hope you guys like it, hand made using only a hacksaw, some files and sandpaper.
I masked the contour lines in order to paint them after but I had to retouch with the white paint...next time I will try stapling or better...the airbrush.
