I currently have about 130 1/18s in my collection with another 15 that I want to get rid of. The wheels on the two cars are actually different. IMO, I think the silver/grey looks better but the black/red is a more classic Bugatti colours. I couldn't decide on which one to get so I got both. There are two more colour combos for the Veyron: blue/dark blue and black/yellow. And I have a friend who has all of them. :scared:

The 22B can sell for $200 USD on eBay; more if you sell it during Christmas or when school's out for the summer. Although there are no plans for AA to re-release the model, it's hard to say if it will go up or down in the future as it is the case most models in this hobby.

And no, I don't have the Chiron. I think it's ugly. :yuck:

Haha I think the Chiron is beautiful : I just bought it because I knew I would regret it if I didn't, because they're limited (3000, right?). I'm going to get the black/red Veyron soon.

It's a good thing to know that the 22B sells for 200$ USD, I got it for 80$ CDN :)

The Veyron is beautiful from every side!
Edit : The Chiron is so wide 👍

Neither the Chiron or the Veyron are limited editions. They do come with a COA but it doesn't indicate how many were produced. Unlike the 'Kwan' (LE 1000 pcs).

Oh this is that one guy working at a boutique told me... :grumpy:
I was going to rush to find a black/red (they're getting rare) but I see they probably still are produced?

What do you use to store your cars? What kind of shelves/covers? I use acrylic covers but they're expensive, about 70$ CDN for a 12 inch x 9 inch, without the wooden shelves. Do you have a cheaper solution?

Chances are that the black/red Concept Veyron is not being produced because Autoart has plans to release the black/red Production Veyron sometime in the future.

I only use wooden shelves and my desk top for display. I don't have budgets to get myself a proper cabinet with all the new releases nowadays. :ill:

JEBUS, that was quick! Did you select first class delivery by chance?

Love the pics and the engine bay detail is fantastic!

I might be emailing some guy about an AutoArt Chamberlain Viper some time soon asking about shipping and payment options.

With dust. :sly:

Seriously, I don't cover them with anything. I don't have display cases over my collection and I have to resort to dusting them (and I do that quite often). I know I should protect them but with all the upcoming releases, I can't afford to buy a display cabinet. And when I'm saying display cabinet, I'm talking about a nice one; not the ones from Ikea.

Dann, sweet collection! but what is with the F355 yellowish one..it almost looks like its been sanded from the picture, is it just a really pale yellow >?

daan, that GT40 is amazing! Very nice.
The GT40 was my first Exoto and I was gobsmacked by the detail. It's a fantastic model.

It started out as normal Ferrari yellow, but it has faded badly over the years. You can see it's original colour on the engine cover. Sitting it on my windowsill in the sun (yes, we do get sun in Scotland occasionally!) was probably not the best place to keep it, but the others on the windowsill came out fine.

:scared: NO :scared: WAY :scared: !

With all the beauties you have!
Doesn't it get stuck in or between small parts (like inside of the car)? (the dust)

I actually display my cars without cases as well, and I do dust them every once in a while. Sure, would be nice to have some sweet case but I'd rather buy more cars and put a little extra care in dusting them etc. But yea, I'm pretty sure dust collects where you can't reach for instance. As long as it doesn't look like ****.

VIPFREAK
That's what an air compressor is for. It is for me anyway... :dopey:

I tried a bottle of some toxic chemical that gave the same effect as compressed air, it was very good but it didn't reach small places, sometimes even the exterior remained dusty. Unfortunately, it did this to my Impreza 22B :( on the hood air inputs. I wouldn't be sad if twistedspoon hadn't told me it's rare though haha.

Edit : VIPFREAK, can you post a picture of your "air compressor"?
Thanks.

I store my models in the open, but my AUTOart Miura is sitting under part of an old pillowcase until I get a proper case (A single car, shelf unit) for it. Guess I'll have to find something for the AUTOart Bullitt Mustang that I predict I'm gonna get (OK, I know I'm going to get. I was there when my dad ordered it).

I used to use canned air to dust my models. But I've found that I'm damaged some models because their older decals tend to peel. Now I only use Swiffers to clean them gently. For tight areas, I use a small artwork paintbrush; it works really well around the wiper and other hard edges. 👍

I think all the dusting and cleaning I do is a good way for me to keep appreciating what I've bought. When I'm cleaning them, I can pick them up and admire the details for why I'm bought them in the first place.

I'm sure that some collectors would rather not go through the trouble of dusting them. And some may argue that all the dusting means that there's a higher chance for mishandling/damaging the models.

Hmmm... good idea with the brush.
I've noticed you have many racing cars, were you talking about them when you mentionned the decals? It won't damage plain paint, right?

Good observation; I do have more race cars than street cars. 👍
Yes. Decals on UTs and older Autoarts (i.e. Vipers) tend to be very fragile. I use extreme care when I dust them with a paintbrush or Swiffer. But I do have to point out that some street cars also have decals for badge on the rear of the car. You should be aware not to damage them when you dust them off. Cheers.

I "dust" by getting a paper towel wet, wringing it out so there is very little moisture left, and then wiping the car down. It works nicely.

Yeah, it's a good idea and it saves money 👍

I realise I don't have time to dust them every few days or every week : I'm a full time student and when I'm in my studies, I can touch them once a month, so it isn't a good idea to start dusting them because it would accumulate and would be unreachable :grumpy:. Fortunately, I do have time to buy new models haha. I thought about leaving my Maisto models out, because they're cheaper, but I can't stand seeing dust in a convertible.

Temporarily, I cover the cars with plastic transparent paper until I get acrylic covers. It's ugly, but it keeps me from dusting them.

twistedspoon, do you dust ALL the cars you have? Haha I couldn't dust my 40 cars because it would take me so much time : you got to have patience! 👍

twistedspoon, do you know anything about the 5000S Countach from AUTOart? Any flaws I need to check before buying? :)

I got that Maserati MC12 a few days ago. (notice the plastic paper...:))

GT4Mania
Doesn't it damage your cars? :)

Edit : Do you guys have convertibles also?

Since it's all Vipers (pretty much) there's not really a chance of damage. My AutoArt ones are in a case so they don't get dusty as fast but if I'm going to clean them it will lightly.

No, but I have targas. :D

got me 4 new 1:18 cars today:
Merc SL500 (£4!!)
BMW Z8 (£4!)
Nissan Skyline GTr (muscle machines)
Toyota Supra, blue (skunk racing, Jada toy)

Im dissapointed with the Skyline, it looks pretty boring from the front, it needs a carbon bonnet. And the boot dosent open.

Love my supra though, it looks sooo kool. brilliant wheels to.

oops!! lol i just bought a new model!
im trying to save my money ffs!
well i just secured myself another 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 396 made by Lane Exact Detail, but this time its 1 of 1002 in Cordovan Maroon with NO viynl roof. :sly:
cost me $60US not including shipping which will propbably be $30US
so this little beauty cost me about £50GBP.
BUT..thats before customs get their filthy mitts on it :grumpy:

I think ive become addicted to late 60's - early 70's muscle cars
Here's a pic of the one i already have:

and here's a pic of the one ive ordered:

1 of 1002:

And of course the HTF (at a decent price anyway) white no viynl top version (1 of 500)

Haven't posted here in quite some time, time to update a bit.

I bought my first AUTOart car 2 weeks ago. I went to one of the local hobby shops, and got the Nissan Skyline R34 GT4 Edition.

It's a very beatiful car and the model is fantastic. I like the Skyline R34, and I thought why not get the GT4 one, as I really like the overall look of it. I'll post some pics of it as soon as I get my exams over on Tuesday.

Also, today, my dad bought me a Lamborghini Diablo GTR in yellow by Hot Wheels. I've wanted that model since the first time I saw it back in early August. Really like the car and the model is pretty nice. Will post some pics of this one later too.

Anyway, I'm very impressed with the AUTOart car, nice detailed engine with everything accurate, the headlights and tyres and brakes and everything are really well detailed. The paintjob is also perfect as are all the tampos on the car. The main difference that I've noticed so far between this AUTOart model and my other cars which are all Bburago/Hot Wheels/Maisto is that the Autoart looks like a real car. No imperfections, no minor faults, really nice paintjob, etc.

If I'm lucky, I might get some more Autoart cars for xmas and my b-day is also on 29th this month. The cars they have here that I really like is the Ford GT and Corvette C5R Le Mans '04 both by AUTOart, and a Michael Schumacher Ferrari F2004 by Hot Wheels. If i've been nice this year, I might get all 3 for presents.
