twistedspoonI currently have about 130 1/18s in my collection with another 15 that I want to get rid of. The wheels on the two cars are actually different. IMO, I think the silver/grey looks better but the black/red is a more classic Bugatti colours. I couldn't decide on which one to get so I got both. There are two more colour combos for the Veyron: blue/dark blue and black/yellow. And I have a friend who has all of them.![]()
The 22B can sell for $200 USD on eBay; more if you sell it during Christmas or when school's out for the summer. Although there are no plans for AA to re-release the model, it's hard to say if it will go up or down in the future as it is the case most models in this hobby.
And no, I don't have the Chiron. I think it's ugly.![]()
Neither the Chiron or the Veyron are limited editions. They do come with a COA but it doesn't indicate how many were produced. Unlike the 'Kwan' (LE 1000 pcs).GT4ManiaHaha I think the Chiron is beautiful : I just bought it because I knew I would regret it if I didn't, because they're limited (3000, right?). I'm going to get the black/red Veyron soon.
It's a good thing to know that the 22B sells for 200$ USD, I got it for 80$ CDN
The Veyron is beautiful from every side!
Edit : The Chiron is so wide 👍

Chances are that the black/red Concept Veyron is not being produced because Autoart has plans to release the black/red Production Veyron sometime in the future.GT4ManiaOh this is that one guy working at a boutique told me...![]()
I was going to rush to find a black/red (they're getting rare) but I see they probably still are produced?
What do you use to store your cars? What kind of shelves/covers? I use acrylic covers but they're expensive, about 70$ CDN for a 12 inch x 9 inch, without the wooden shelves. Do you have a cheaper solution?
daan

I only use wooden shelves and my desk top for display. I don't have budgets to get myself a proper cabinet with all the new releases nowadays.![]()
With dust.GT4ManiaWhat do you cover the cars with?
The GT40 was my first Exoto and I was gobsmacked by the detail. It's a fantastic model.Slicksdaan, that GT40 is amazing! Very nice.
It started out as normal Ferrari yellow, but it has faded badly over the years. You can see it's original colour on the engine cover. Sitting it on my windowsill in the sun (yes, we do get sun in Scotland occasionally!) was probably not the best place to keep it, but the others on the windowsill came out fine.TwinTurboJayDann, sweet collection! but what is with the F355 yellowish one..it almost looks like its been sanded from the picture, is it just a really pale yellow >?
twistedspoonWith dust.![]()
Seriously, I don't cover them with anything. I don't have display cases over my collection and I have to resort to dusting them (and I do that quite often). I know I should protect them but with all the upcoming releases, I can't afford to buy a display cabinet. And when I'm saying display cabinet, I'm talking about a nice one; not the ones from Ikea.![]()
VIPFREAKThat's what an air compressor is for. It is for me anyway...![]()
GT4Maniacan you post a picture of your "air compressor"?
Thanks.
I used to use canned air to dust my models. But I've found that I'm damaged some models because their older decals tend to peel. Now I only use Swiffers to clean them gently. For tight areas, I use a small artwork paintbrush; it works really well around the wiper and other hard edges. 👍GT4ManiaNO
WAY
!
With all the beauties you have!
Doesn't it get stuck in or between small parts (like inside of the car)? (the dust)
I think all the dusting and cleaning I do is a good way for me to keep appreciating what I've bought. When I'm cleaning them, I can pick them up and admire the details for why I'm bought them in the first place.induceI actually display my cars without cases as well, and I do dust them every once in a while. Sure, would be nice to have some sweet case but I'd rather buy more cars and put a little extra care in dusting them etc. But yea, I'm pretty sure dust collects where you can't reach for instance. As long as it doesn't look like ****.

VIPFREAKLike this... Although it's a little too powerful for inside use.

Good observation; I do have more race cars than street cars. 👍GT4ManiaHmmm... good idea with the brush.
I've noticed you have many racing cars, were you talking about them when you mentionned the decals? It won't damage plain paint, right?
GT4ManiaDoesn't it damage your cars?
Edit : Do you guys have convertibles also?
