REMEMBER!
-The cars will be judged based on feel, rather than speed. Remember that we are dealing with street cars. Basically, the car must be fast, but must also be fun. Mostly fun to drive.

Winner will have a chance to battle the "Touge Monster". If it wins, the title then gets handed to the winner.

ENTRY#1-Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89

Alright! That's everyone, right? Yes! Anyway, let's get to the scoring! Only the top 5 will be announced though. The top placer will get to battle me, in my MR2!

5. BobbyBRAKEaNek's Mini Cooper S!

I really had thoughts about this car. I actually didn't think it would make it. As soon as I took it out for a test, I was very amazed! The steering was pretty tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, it felt greatly balanced!

SCORE:89

4. TakumiFuji01's Eunos Roadster!

Everyone still remembers the "Hairdressers Car" stereotype, right? Well, this car breaks- no wait! This car smashes that stereotype! The steering is very responsive, and the car was gentle in the hairpins, making it easy to maneuver around. Not to mention, the rear end would slide out a bit on the final bend.

SCORE:90

3. robrabbitman's 86 GT!

Everyone loves the good old "HachiRoku". This car definitely lives up to its expectations! From the steering, to its personality. My only problem though was the brake balance. Still, this car... Is just great!

SCORE:93

2. SolidSnake7735's EG!

Man, I just can't get enough of this car! The high revs, just gives you chills! The understeer, was very controllable, and I can apply a lot more throtle while cornering. SolidSnake just won't let us down, and he probably won't! Keep it up!

SCORE:95

1. Onboy123's FC!

I always love a Rotary. This car has proved to me why. The sound, the control, everything! And when you're in a fun mood, the rear would slide out with ease! Perfect for a street car!... Except for its fuel consumption. :P

SCORE:96

SHOWDOWN!

Onboy123's Mazda RX-7 GT-Limited (FC, J) '85

Vs

Mat123's Toyota MR2 Spyder (6MT) '02

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/8152352052/

It's a draw, what happens now? Well, both cars will re-appear in season 2! Both ready, and prepared for the title "Touge Monster"! Goodbye, and thanks for watching!

Very cool Mat .

With all the diverse cars, it was neat to see all of them so close (even if mine was 30hp under and 3 seconds slower... I still think that's close :D). I hope you keep this going and I look forward to the next showdown 👍

Think if my "Wicked Child" had more bottom end grunt it would have been alot more fun to drive. Oh well hopefully Mat finds "Opa" more to his liking...:lol:

Nice job Mat, looking forward to your 300hp reviews.👍👍

I really don't understand anything. Is there any classification ? If yes based on what criterion ? Is this the only feed back together with a nice video ??

If the car is judged based on feel, what are you feeling about the cars ???

I would like to know why this one or this one , what are the good points, the bad points.... Some details, please.:)

lol What I meant by complicated parts were like "LSD" and such. Anyway, about the reviews, basically I was already saying what I felt in the car in the video. I like to keep it simple.

@praiano don't feel bad, at least he didn't say yours should have been terminated prior to birth like he did mine!:lol:

Ahaha! lol I named it "Abortion" because it could have killed me on the first practice. lol

Keeping it above 4000RPM was such a challenge, I could have killed myself while blipping the throttle. Haha

Sweet, I like the reviews, short and sweet. I hope you like my R32, even though I tuned it to scare you a bit. Might be your lowest score yet :sly:

Haha! Don't worry. I can tame any GT-R except the R35. lol

Well I tuned it to be fun, speed is boring. I'm pretty rusty with GT5 due to Borderlands 2, but it's a car that I can bully Onboy around in online.

The way I like my 4wd cars to handle can be a challenge for those not used to their style of driving. They are meant to be pushed hard into corners and then the driver should hit the throttle either just prior to or at the apex and let the front help pull it through the rest of the turn. Those who expect understeer from their 4wd cars are likely to not push mine hard enough into corners and either wait to long to get back on the gas or try braking even more, not trusting the front to pull them through.
Must say Mat did a pretty good job with it on his first run that I watched.👍👍
The car and its handling is probably much better suited to a hard core racing driver looking to surprise others in its class, than a more relaxed casual touge driver.

"Opa" is much more about fun and style instead of sheer speed.
Think if we survive to do the 200hp class again I may introduce you to my "Pocket Monster" though...:D

Don't worry , i just comment this because you're the only tester, up to you, you're the boss but that's why your feedback need to be more detailed, i think. This is the purpose of a shootout. Good feedback=Evolution=progress= better cars for everybody.
This is how i see this.

-Whoa ,the car is really fast for his age.
-Haha, fits right in the ditch.
-Praiano showing us that classics never die !
-The car maybe too much for my skills.
-Hyaa.

You can do better than this i'm sure. Staying simple.

Good night everybody.

Pretty good showing Mat. Videos where pretty good and I really liked the picture of the FC and the MRs in the tunnel.
The 300hp touge should be a monster of an event, can't wait for it.

It depends on feeling of the car. Your car was the fastest, but it felt a little bit boring to be honest.

Ah Boring !! i got it 💡 thanks again Mat .

Edit: i think they judge the car as to be felt under steer , over steer killer , sharp in corner exit like this but i didn't here of Boring .

With the low hp you couldn't really get your car to kick it's tail out or otherwise create any driving excitement. Was an easy car to drive to its limits but at least for myself, when I tested it, the car left you wanting a bit more out of it. Maybe making it a touch looser in the rear would have helped liven it up, but really think it was mainly the limited HP you had on tap. Expected a rally car excitement and got a hatchback feel instead.:odd:

Car would be easy to drive in longer races so was a good tune, just was a bit bland...

Well, I couldn't exactly judge the car dependnig on oversteer, understeer, etc.The car felt balanced. That's a good thing, but the car needed some life poured into it. :)

Simple ! This above have a name: FEEDBACK.. That's what everybody want. Nothing more , nothing less.
Nobody is crying for bad results. If i wanted any goods , i would have presented any other car, not the BMW.
The way this shootout is going on, Newdriver have his part of right too. This is a joke.
A shootout can be done with a single driver, like Adrenaline did in the past, but giving a good constructive feedback to the tuners.
If not, it's just a guy who drive cars that some tuners have spent hours on it. For NOTHING !!
This is my point of view. If the things don't change, i'll take out my cars for the next 2 rounds.
I can easily publish my cars in my garage, for anybody drive them and give or not any feedback. Positive or negativve, always constructive.

Cool.👍👍
Still breaking my Max entry in and tuning it...not sure how it will eventually end up but think I have the "Bling" award in the bag on this beast.

Calm down. Please.

Listen, it's just the first episode, and I'm new to this, okay? I'm not like Adrenaline. I know he's a very good tuner. The better the tuner, the better the feedback you can give, right? Well, I'm not so much of a tuner. Which is why I improve every step of the way. I appreciate every comment, positive, negative, any. Everyone has their opinions, and I respect that, and I deeply respect you as a person and a tuner. I apologize for the lack of feedback. You don't have to get mad.

Okay, we learn from our mistakes. 1st episode=lack of feedback.

Okay, so now that I know my mistake, I'll improve for the second episode. But if people don't like it, then I'll cancel "Touge MAX" class.

Simple as that.

Also, I was really thinking this would go smoothly, but no. My exams just unexpectedly showed up. Which gave me very little time to review your entries.

It's your choice if you still want to enter.

EDIT: About your BMW: All in all, your car was fun, but requires a certain amount of skill to master it. No understeer, slight oversteer on exit, quick acceleration, slightly sluggish through the hairpins.

What to improve:

-Steering response
-Stiffer springs

You want something like that?

If no, then please give me an idea of how you want it to go.

Don't worry , i'm very calm. I just try to understand all this.
You don't have time, you don't have experience in shootout.... This is not a problem, a lot of good people are here to help.
But why do you want to test all this car alone if you don't have time ???
All the shootouts have several testers generally. It's better to have several point of view, like this , it's possible to make a good idea of the car and to know what can be corrected or what is the direction to take with a setting.....

I thought I had time, I already set the date, but then, my exams came. I try my best to stay on time.

Anyway, I'll try my best to look for a partner who could test out the cars too.

EDIT: Guys, I'm in the search of 2 test drivers. So, if you're interested, contact me either via PM or on this thread.

I know it will require a bit more work on your part and take a little longer, but I suggest that if instead of just listing your top 5 with a couple comments, you give a brief comment on all the entries, it will make people happier.

The comments for your top 5, though very brief, gave a bit of insight to everyone about what you liked and didn't like for those cars.

Brief comments on the videos were great, but just like in the real show a couple words about the car after the driving is done really makes things better for both the tuner and viewing public.

Also I know your going on what car you enjoy driving the most, but think you might want to create some sort of system for yourself that accounts for the sector times as well. Otherwise as tuners we have no reason to build fast cars, but instead will be focusing solely on building a car that is a perfect driving experience for you.

Would suggest that maybe you do something like make a list of the entries in order of driving preference and then give them points for their place on the list. Then list them by speed and award points for that based on position. Give the drivers feel portion double points and presto its still weighted heavily in favor of the cars you really like to drive but the speed still factors into determining which cars end up battling for the title.
