GTS & E3 2017 (June 14th-16th)

So is E3 the new unofficial time line for an announcement on a GTS release date? Seems a bit far off. I'm not completely up on all the different shows and expos so I could be missing one. What does everyone else think?

I'm hoping we can get an announcement on a GTS release date before E3. I think PD is in a tough position right now. They've displayed and had demos of GT Sport at a few expos already. They've released a closed beta in the U.S and will do so in Europe as well. If they are present at E3 and do not announce a release date it might be cause for concern.

We have one more large auto-show before E3, the NY Auto Show Apr 13-24th. I don't expect any news here, but I do expect we will hear something before E3, so this might be the venue. I honestly expect the game to be out before E3. The 'Great Games Coming Soon' section on playstation.com still lists GT Sport between Persona 5 (releases Apr 4th), and Injustice 2 (releases May 16th), and so far the games have been releasing in the order shown. To me, the Apr 20th rumor seems realistic, but is more likely to be the 18th or 25th (releases tend to be on Tuesdays).

Personally I reckon the best bet is that we'll get some news about GTS at E3. I.e. a release date and ideally some info on some other features such possible new cars/tracks or other things such as livery editor.

However I'm not massively fussed if such details aren't disclosed, as I'd be just happy if they announced the release date at the very least. If I was to hazard a guess at when said release date would be, I'd say it'd be early as June-July time, with more likely to be late June at the very earliest.

I was really hoping the rumors from the Finnish retailer that it will be released on April 20th were true. It seems very unlikely but i can only wish it is out that early.

There is absolutely no chance. If the beta were to end this week, the soonest we'll see it is two months after. Even that's too soon. They could set a release date at E3 and have it release in July. July seems like a weird time though. August? It would be great if they could release GT Sport in either of those two months. BUUUUUT they might wait until November or December and bundle it. It's all plausible conjecture. Thinking it'll come out in the next month isn't plausible in the slightest.
