GT's original tracks. And why they would not be realistic.

Thinking about it Cape ring wouldn't be very good as a racetrack (too many safety considerations) but parts of it could work quite well as a rally stage. Especially the Jump-loop-Finish section.

As an official circuit? No. As a back road you wish you could run flat-out on? Absolutely. Trial Mountain and Deep Forest are two of my favorites because it feels like you're racing through back country. I also enjoy Cape Ring because the loop feels like a highway on-ramp you just wish you could blast around at 100+ mph.

But would it be safe to drive these tracks IRL at the speeds we do in game? Absolutely not.

If you want to talk about dangerous tracks though, lets talk about the 'Ring. It's an official track but it is damn scary to drive at full speed. I get sweaty palms in game on the track let alone real life.

Cape ring could be very realistic if the loop was replaced with a 45 degree-ish curve into a tunnel to cut out the jumps, and more run-off and bigger fences for the section before the loop.

Midfield seems feasible, not that it would ever happen though.

There was a thread here somewhere that showed Apricot Vally was possible landscape wise somewhere in the USA. Like you said though, not likely. :indiff:

Cape Ring seems to be based on public roads, minus the big loop.
Much like La Sarthe's Straight being a very bumpy public road.
That is likely why there seems to be 2-lane roads on the outer roads.

The landscape around McConnelsville, Ohio matched pretty well. Thing is, McConnelsvile is a town with about 1,300 people, none of whom would be likely to welcome a racetrack near their houses.

Have you ever been to Lakeville, CT? It's in the boonies, no strip malls, no Walmart, just a winding road that eventually dumps you out at Limerock Park. Population can't be more than a few 1,000. As you drive up you can hear the roaring engines echo off the surrounding hills. It's a very unlikely place for a race track.

People drive faster on the Autobahn then the average speed in a F1 Gran Prix at Hockenheim or Nurburgring. Thats not the point, the point is to identify the team that can corner, brake, accelerate the best. Any dumb ass can floor it and run 243 mph down a runway. Look at the old Nascar's from the 70s and 80s. Buddy Baker ran 400 km/hr at the Chrysler facility, in an old "Crack whore, box shaped drug mobile, that you would see parked in some trailer park nowdays, LOL.

Cape Ring wouldn't be possible.
The spiral, the jump and many sharp corners which are on the edge of a cliff with no runoff area.
High Speed Ring would need more runoff area.
Eigar Nordwand wouldn't be possible because of enviromentalists and Swiss goverment.
Deep Forest needs more runoff area and rocks can't be used for walls.
Trial Mountain needs more runoff area and again, rocks can't be used as walls.
Midway would be possible, just it's tunnel and elevation difference would prove quite costly.
Apricot Hill would be possible.
Grand Valley is possible in a way, enough runoff areas and great layout, just scrap the tunnels, the bridge and the lake.

I would think El Capitan would be possible. Apart from the extreme downhill section and the cave/tunell thing, you have a very realistic track, especially if runoff areas were bigger

exept it is placed in national park...

As of bridges..

Suzuka has one.

As of tracks converted to real.

Almost all city tracks are ok.

As of jumps tracks. In game they are ok because you can't do any real damage.
In real life also are ok because all cars will brake before it and will drive slowly.
