This seems like its going to be needing a clue, so here is one: The scene looks like its set in the 80's but the movie is made in present day. The scene is just a scene within the movie that has nothing to really do with the movie.

Yep, it was a film they watched in class. My daughter has read the books and wanted to watch the movie so I got it for her and we all watched it together one night. It was a pretty funny movie considering it's a kids movie/ She wants to go see the new one as well, she is reading that book right now.
