tineye.com has done that for ages and the thread has still been fine so although the google option will be known to more people with a little care, such as you've suggested, you can make sure people can't cheat. I'm not sure what anyone would gain by cheating in a just for fun comp anyway! You can edit screencaps found in google images before uploading them to fool the reverse image searches too so you don't always need to take your own screencap.
