I have to credit my wife for this one. I was struggling so asked her if she know who it was and she knew the film straight away! I've not seen it, any good?

I'll have a think but if TheCracker would like to take his missed go then go for it. :)

It's a great movie; look at it as an examination of the social/cultural upheaval of immigrants & cultural lag between generations in Thatcherian Britain.
 
This is a tough one... I just cant make out their faces properly... Is the one on the left Leonardo Dicaprio?

No, but he does actually look quite similar IRL.

It's the one in the middle that might be the give away.

My wife said I'm a philistine for not seeing it! It looks pretty good though, brings to mind Mike Leigh's High Hopes...crossed with East Is East ;)


I'm a bit stumped with TC's film. The girls looks familiar but the cogs aren't falling in to place. Hmmm?

She's not been in many films but one of them was a very big film from a popular series of films.

You are right... have to read more thoroughly... Hmmmm..... its difficult because on this monitor I just can't make out their faces... Oh well, I'm gonna think it over a bit before I make myself look more like an ass with dumb guesses... :lol:

Sorry dude. Wasn't trying to make you out to be an ass, just trying to help with the clues because I haven't got an idea who it is yet. Even zooming to 400% on the photo in imageshack doesn't show her face clearly.

By the way I also don't read posts as Famine helpfully pointed out in the thread "Ruf's 8-cylinder Porsche 911" :lol:

I've just noticed "hardlyanightmare" is part of the jpg link, is this of any relevance? Google doesn't seem to think so!

Actually when I saw that pic of My Beautiful Launderette a couple of days ago my first thought was “the guy really looks like D. D. Lewis in My Beautiful Launderette if only he didn’t seem so old here!”, and so dismissed it and thought about other fake blond hairdos, and the first that came to mind was Max Headroom. :dunce:

With the current picture I’m at a total loss… that girl could be any actress, really, and most films these days have prequels and sequels and so forth so that clue doesn’t really help much!
 
Yes, the name is a clue, but perhaps only if you think you might have an idea what the film is.

The film is set amidst an event in May 1968. The location of the picture posted is a clue to where the event took place. As for many films having prequals and sequals, the film the series the actress was in has to be the longest series of films out there.
