Very exciting racing last night, battling with GTMail in G1 Daytona really showed the advantage/disadvantages of car selection. Going through all the technical turning sections, I could pull my Camaro right up to his Vette, even making a pass a couple times, just to watch him sail by me in the straits. After repeating that pattern for a couple laps, I resorted to just keeping my Z stuck in his rearview, forcing him to protect his position and overwork his tires (which I know is easy to do in that big HP Vette). Once I saw the Vette starting to really slide around, I still had enough tire to lay down a couple qualify speed laps and put the gap between us. Very exciting, I really enjoy having to use strategy with the longer lap races we're doing, verses the short lap fast-as-u-can races I had been getting used to.
My Cuda in G2 is still a nasty handful, but I was proud of my efforts in keeping on the track and avoiding any nasty spins, and again ended up battling it out with GTMail, though it worked out in his favor this time, as the Cuda was the one to show the wear first. I think I let myself get a little to excited when I saw what the massive HP of the Cuda was capable of down the straits, and I wore the fronts right off it having to brake so hard at the turns. Fun stuff!
